unable to adjust brightness after replacing display

Hello,after replacing the display (by myself) , I' m not able to adjust the brightness of my display. It's stuck on the lowest level. Things I've tried;
- Called with HTC
- Performed hard reset
- Set the brightness to "auto"
- To adjust it with a brightness widget on my homescreen
- Replaced it with another display
- And of course digging through XDA
Specs;
- Desire Z 2.3.3,sense 2.1,unrooted
When I try to adjust it to the max.level it does not give an error. It just stays on the lowest level.
Is there anyone with the same problem or better,has a solution?

Yes,together with a video on "repair universe" I changed the display by myself (twice). Still having the same problem.

Brightness stuck on highest setting
I also have this same problem. I just replaced the lcd display myself yesterday on my G2 with the help of the repair universe video. My display brightness is stuck on the highest level. When I try to adjust the brightness, only the buttons on the bottom of my screen (home, menu, back, search) change brightness but not the display.
I'm currently running ILWT CM7 297.
I'm going to try re-flashing my radio and then wiping and flashing a new ROM.
If anyone knows how to fix this please help!

I suspect it is hardware related such as the ribbon cable or screen is missing a lead for the dimming function. Can't tell from here though sorry.

I tend to second this opinion from killj0y.
Have you tried making sure the ribbon cables are tight and secure? Sounds like the ribbon cable from the screen may be loose.

Has anyone figured out the answer to this? I just replaced the LCD from RepairsUniverse.com as well and the same thing. The brightness is low and won't change at all. Everything was fine before and RepairsUniverse.com says it's the motherboard. If the motherboard was fine before and all of us are having pretty much the same problem and some (or all?) of us got the replacement from RepairsUniverse.com, does anyone else smell a rat?

I know nothing of this company but depending on you screen problem, I wouldn't assume your mb is perfectly fine.

Hi. Are there any updates to this proble. I recently had the screen replaced on my Desire S and now it is stuck on the lowest brightness settings. Change any of the brightness controls does nothing. I took it back to the shop and they tried another screen, but still have the same problem. The motherboard was also replaced and the problem was there, but reversed...!? The screen was then stuck on full brightness...
Back to the original motherboard and the brightness is back stuck on lowest brightness setting....

[Q] Audio cutting in and out on my unit how to fix.

Yesterday the audio just stopped working on my unit. It is almost like it is muted or something. I checked it and it seems like everything is ok. Then this morning I was driving and it suddenly came back on. Audio will not cut out when the car is running, but only when I turn the car off for whatever reason(refuel, garage, etc) and then the audio will eventually come back.
I tried flashing the latest malaySK rom and MCU and that did not help. Is this a hardware issue or something? It's behaving like it is muted and when it suddenly comes back it's as if I hit the unmute button or something. Any ideas would be appreciated, I'm about to drive cross country with this.

I've seen the same on one of my four units. My interim solution has been to turn power off i.e turn engine off for 35 seconds.
After that the sound comes back. I suspect it has something to do with the delay of 30 seconds implemented in the FW.
If you look in Malaysk's thread he claims its an error in the recent fw.

Any idea as to the last version of the ROM that didn't have this issue?

I don't know. This has been an ongoing case for some time. As I wrote above I think it has to do with the
software delays implemented some time ago. I've turned off Headunitservice and also removed the option
in Xposed concerning MCU. It looks like that solved the problem. Knock on wood

I see. What is this delay issue involving? I really only use the headunit service to change songs in Poweramp I think. The other features are nice but kind of superfluous for my installation.

The MCU thing is to keep the HU running while you start the engine. That's the SW mod. There's also a hardware mod
implementing a capacitor and a diode doing the same thing. I can wait for the cold boot and have sound, rather than
the other way around.

I understand. How do you disable it? Wouldn't a reboot of the unit fix this issue? I was thinking of just going into xposed and forcing a reboot from in there.

Xposed installer/modules/XposedMcu-remove thick. Reboot.

AFAIK, only the above.

I've tried downgrading, changing the MCU, etc. No suck luck. The audio seems to just kick on or off.

Notification Task Bar not responding Huifei rk3066

Hi there,
The top of the screen is not responding, the whole task bar doesn't respond to touch.
I have tried factory reset, different ROMs and MCUs but no luck.
I have a huifei kgl-746 rk3066 model... The rest of the screen is perfect...
Latest rom from Malaysk and 2.53 mcu version.
Any help would be much appreciated.

No mate, have been searching for a solution but no luck. I have also tried different ROMs and mcus but nothing made a difference.
Using a USB mouse everything works fine, so my gues would be there's something wrong with the touchscreen. Haven't tried to check the ribbon connections on the board.

XTRONS TE706PL Android 8.0 Problem - no video from apps

Hi everyone! Im new here and my english is not perfect.
I have a problem with my Xtrons te706pl. The problem is that i dont have a video mostly in Youtube. Have sound everything is good just the video is like blank page. What do you think where can be the problem?!

I search issue like mine but i didnt find nothing. I think the problem maybe is from the Firmware because first 4 months it works perfect and one day everything just stoped and the system was crashed after that i loose everything because i reset it and after that the video stoped to work in apps i have just sound and no video. I think if i reinstall the android maybe it will work again but im not sure thats why im asking here if somebody know how to fix it or to know something... I hope you understand me what i mean..

Sorry had to mention the obvious, did you go into system settings and enable video while driving? Maybe your parking brake cable got disconnected.

Had a similar issue after I updated my HU from px5-userdebug 8.0.0 OPR5.170623.007 eng.hct.20180510.131628 test-keys to HCT_PX5_9.0_ota(20200518). Seem like my old android 8 could care less if I had the parking wire set to low, but the new Android 9 will not allow me to play videos unless I was parked. (form some apps it started then stopped within 1 to 3s). I could not find any setting that allowed me to enable video if the parking switch was not enganges (maybe it was there before I updated to Android 9.0 but its not there anymore). To fix this on my unit, I had to short the pink E brake wire to GND. (the wire will be either pink or Green depending on your harness). some recommend adding a switch, I simply added a short wire to the GDN chasy of the HU. Now my Video play fine all the time.

Carlinkit A1 tbox problems

Hi,
I purchased a Carlinkit cpc200 tbox November 2021 (great product) and has been working perfectly.
Until this week, when it has stopped booting up. It will get to a black screen with android in the centre, it looks like it frozen but after 30 to 60 seconds turns off and try to reboot, with the same result.
When the unit is powered up there is a solid green and red light, after 15 seconds green light starts flashing,
after 30 to 60 seconds the red light disappears and 15 seconds later green light disappears. It seems as it is
Rebooting again.
I would like some help to fix problem.
Is this a firmware problem.

Hi,
I contacted the tech support and have tried to update unit multiple times with no result. As it was working perfectly, it was great but than stopped and now they (tech support) that is a low power issue, not software issue. I've also tried in 4 different vehicles and still not booting and bought new cable (same). Looking for the cable that may be the answer but having trouble finding it.

I am having the same exact issue and getting the runaround from the seller. Anyone have any advice?

I bought this thinking it would probably be buggy and eventually would return it but totally impressed. But this works great. Seems stable so far and allows for many customizations.

The Carlinkitcarplay Box is ok, It took a little time and patience to set up, but once I did, it runs well. Connects to phone immediately once I start my truck.

Hi, I got the same problem and same recommendation from support after 4 mounth of successful opertaion of device. Have you solved your problem? If yes, can you share solution?

When you're using the android setup, is audio streaming via Bluetooth from your phone sent to the android box then the head unit or bypassed and goes straight to the head unit like factory android auto? Just wondering how much this device compromises audio quality of it's running through multiple sources.
Also, anyone tried rooting this device? Interested in running some audio mods through it like JamesDSP etc

I’m my GMC wired CarPlay always had better sound than though GMC Bluetooth. Now that the bt gets passed through the tbox it sounds better. I think the tbox has better bt version since that connection gets routed through wired connection to the truck and sounds as good as wired without tbox.
