Hello, I installed miui 11 using TWRP and the computer does not detect the usb but the phone is charging. I want to lock the bootloader but can't. The system works, but files cannot be sent and is unlocked, and some applications are not working.
Change to "file transfer"
Find option file transfer when connect, i guess

Hi guys, recently bought a Mix Max 128/4 variant with official chinese MIUI 8 (Im guessing but its MIUI 8)
My question is how to transfer files from my PC to the phone or SD Card?
I connected the phone and it shows up in my Computer but upon opening I cant see the phone or card
do i have to install the xiaomi suite?
is there another way? thanks
UPDATE
Dont really know if this fixed things but all I did was install MiPhone Drvers and next time I connected my phone an option appeared on my phone to connect as MTP
Only problem is. MTP is slow as hell. hangs too
Is there another way?
You must install USB drivers for the mi max on your Pc, "my PC" may already pick up the mi max if connected with USB cable.
I can no longer transfer files from my phone to my computer over USB.
If I boot into recovery I can transfer files just fine and the computer recognize my phone, but in Lineage it does not work.
I choose "transfer files" in the drop down menu, nothing.
I activated ADB, did not help.
If I plug and unplug my USB I hear the USB connected sound in Windows. But there is no phone showing up and I cannot access it to transfer files.
In device manager I see the phone under USB connections, looks fine.
One thing looks faulty though.
In device manager "Portable devices"
"MTP"
It says
"Reinstall the drivers for this device. (Code 18)"
I have reinstalled drivers many times, but it always end up like that.
What to do?
It always worked fine before until I updated Lineage in June last summer, after that USB file transfer never worked unless phone was in Recovery mode.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Lineage 14.1 newest nightly as of today.
Windows 7 64bit

Your best bet is to post this question within the following Official LineageOS thread for your device.

Good Luck!

This thread is not the newest, but maybe this helps anyone: I had the same thing when I flashed the wrong version of vendor/firmware for my Pocophone F1. Also Wifi wasn't working. The newest version fixed all of this.
Try this workaround:
Open the Developer Options
Tap on Default USB Configuration (or something like that)
Choose USB File Transfer
---
Whilst transferring files, don't let the screen switch off, keep it awake, i.e. with youtube.
---
Yeah, this is a dirty workaround, but the only alternative I've found so far is to activate the USB debugging option (developer mode) to transfer my files with the "adb push" command.

It would be really good if u upload logs, people can't read your mind, finding errors based on description is really hard.

Even if this post is old, this is my solution. I post it now because someone could need it every time in future, because wanting to re-use an old phone with lineageOS.
it's quite simple,
1) I've just search on Internet for the following words "lge android net MTP" (my phone is LG, so change the first word with your phone's brand)
2) I've downloaded the Win10 driver from LG and installed it
3) when looking at devices manager (Win+Pause shortcut), the warning device has disappear)
Hope to help somebody with that
Even now there are people trying to solve the mystery and solve the USB file transfer issue.
My solution to the problem was very simple, the second I shut off the USB debugging mode in developer tools it magically appeared on my PC.
I have the s3 mini GT-I8190N running the android 7.1.2 Pie-Nougat version
Fix USB file transfer for LineageOS 17
Go to Developer Option > Default USB Configuration > File Transfer
I flashed Lineage OS 17.1 onto an LG G5 and have the same problem.
Plug in the usb to my computer and the device does not pop up in "This PC". Windows does give the sound of something being plugged in.
Changing to usb file transfer doesn't work. Turning off usb debugging mode doesnt work.
Uninstalling the LG drivers doesnt work.

How you fixed this issue I wanna recover my data from smart switch but smart switch can't recogniz but in twrp it works.
Sorry if this is the wrong thread.
Hello guys, I have a Redmi Note 5 (Global Version) with Snapdragon 636, and this phone is really amazing. I'd like however to unlock its booloader so I can install Pixel Experience on it, as I'd like to use other roms than MIUI. The issue is, well, I can't.
Something really strange happens: if I connect my phone via USB 2.0 to my computer, it is recognized as usual. It appears in Device Manager, is recognized by ADB, no problem. Then I reboot in fastboot mode and the device is still there. However, the EXACT moment I open Mi Unlock Tool, without clicking anything (Agree or logging in to my mi account) the phone is instantly disconnected and the "Press any key to shutdown" message appears on the top-left of my phone's screen.
Stuff I've tried:
- made sure OEM unlocking and USB debugging are on
- installed Mi Unlock tool in C:
- installed the ADB drivers in C:/Program Files
- disabled integrity checks from CMD
- installed and checked the MiUSBDriver umpteen times
- used 4 different versions of Mi Unlock Tool (1.0, 2.2, 2.3, and 3.3 - 1.0 halts at 50%, the other 3 won't detect my phone at all)
- made sure the device is bound to my Mi Account
I've tried using Hexerus' guide here (post #18) and everything seems to work fine, until step 6 when my phone instantly disconnects when opening Mi Unlock Tool.
Do you guys have any ideas? Thanks.

Used USB 2.0, didn't work
Happened with me before, and I looked Google and found some solutions like installing the drivers again and using old miunlock tool and using different USB Socket however, none of theme worked,
Next day I opened the laptop to try again and suddenly it worked!
I didn't know what exactly fixed it
After the 720 hours period, I have spent literally weeks of trying to unlock my device's bootloader and what I would add is to switch between computers. I'm running Windows 10 on my room computer and all I had with MiUnlock were errors such as device disconnecting once in fastboot, "Couldn't unlock" messages, chinese characters... Until I decided to use my 2005 Windows 7 desktop and wow !, device unlocked at first try ! No need any other trick
just uninstall Previous drivers or use Windows 7 PC,with latest drivers of ADB ,i also faced same problem:angel:
Hi folks, Wonder if anyone can help, when I plug the phone into my PC I'm unable to see any folders under the devise. It's just empty. Have tapped 'File Transfer' etc. I've never had this issue with a phone before. Any help would be appreciated.
Maybe is because of the encryption.
I have my phone encrypted and I can see the content and sync files with PC.
Turn on Developer Options and change USB configuration to MTP.

Hi, daughters back so just tried. Under default USB configuration I have the following options: File transfer, USB tethering, MIDI, PTP and no data. When File transfer is checked I see Mi A2 Lite but just says it's empty. When I select PTP I see an Unknown under Mi A2 Lite drive which once clicked on is also empty. USB debugging is set to on too (if that makes any diffs) Many thanks in advance.
Update: There was something completely wrong with the phone. Didn't seem to recognise internal memory. Factory reset and it seems to have sorted itself out.
If this happens again follow these instructions:
Right click on My computer, select the Devices and then search for your device with a triangle icon which shows it has problem.
Try to manually update the drivers and search for the USB-MTP drivers.
When the drivers update then the memory will open to your file explorer.
Sorry for my bad English because it's not my mother tongue, but this solution helped me with all the phones that had the same problem. It's a really disturbing problem in Windows which will occur again in the future and you just have to follow these instructions all the time.

Pixel 2 XL updated to.Android 11 recently here in UK.
Now I cannot connect to DJI Mavic Pro or my PC
No USB pop up on status bar saying USB Connected
Yes Dev options enabled and using proper cables (have 2)
My Question is it possible to Downgrade fully to
Android 9 or 10
If so what do i need, links?
Thanks
In the networking section of Dev options is "Default USB Configuration." When I set that to "File Transfer/Android Auto" I was able to connect to my PC. I sometimes have to disable then re-enable ADB to get it to connect. I haven't got a Mavic to test, but hopefully that will help some, at least with the computer.
Yeah tried that with no success
Was working fine with 9 and 10 version
Tried hard reset and safe mode still same
What you mean disable/enable ADB
So looking for how to downgrade if possible

I'm pretty sure the only way to downgrade is to wipe your device though, so make sure you have a backup first. You can downgrade by flashing the Google Factory Images.
There's also an online flashing tool from Google here: https://flash.android.com/
When my device is cranky, sometimes I can revoke USB debugging authorisations, then turn USB debugging (ADB) off and back on. This seems to reset the PC connection and let's it communicate properly, even if I'm only looking to transfer files.
Otherwise, you'll want to flash the factory image as MrBrady suggested.
