[Why no dedicated forum for the newer Iqoo neo 3?]
+1
Because the older Iqoo3 haven't got any development due to bootloader locked. So, what's the points. If you have any idea of bootloader unlocking method and have the kernel source then there is a good chance of development and naturally a dedicated forum will surely open!

HI, I have a H815P (on Nougat) got it for the great camera, and I know the bootloader cannot be unlocked but am I right to assume also that I therefore cannot root or flash any custom ROMs? thanks
I'm a recent H815P owner too and after searching for a few days I've come to the conclusion that it is impossible. That sucks for someone like me coming from a no-limits Galaxy S3.

Refer to the following thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-100-root-success-directives-root-t3180586
Note: Your ability to downgrade to 5.1 with LGUP-NEW will depend on the anti-rollback version of your current kdz ... google it on how to find out or start by clicking on steadfasterX's signature in any of his threads - he has listed all currently known in one of his threads.

I have also bought this phone (Vivo V9). Is it true that the bootloader cannot be unlocked? How come?

i think it's for their business, bbk (mother company of oppo, vivo, and oneplus) only release kernel source code for oneplus
oppo and vivo for average user without tweaking oriented
oneplus for high performance phones and android geeks
That means i can't install lineage os 15.1 or 16
On my vivo v9????
We just wait for hacker user to unlock bootloader
This so dumb. It sucks. Still waiting how to unlock bootloader and root the phone
Anyone please try this and reply.. Thanks

Guys, did any one knows what are the reasons behind no custom rom development for our devices.
It has very good hardware and a lot of developments can be done.
There are openkirin roms though!!! I did use the RROS gsi... It wasn't all that bad!!
Ghoos khilaya hoga sale chutiyo ne developers ko.
I don't think even Honor Play will be getting root now, because Huawei will not be providing bootloader unlock codes for new devices:https://www.xda-developers.com/huawei-stop-providing-bootloader-unlock-codes/

This phone is eating Redmi/xiaomi cc for lunch. It looks like a real great value, beating xiaomi/redmi at its game.
For me, if only it has clean Android...
While xiaomi's popular models have been pretty good at releasing kernels and getting ASOP roms, how likely will realme phones get clean custom roms? Thanks.
Well certainly not Out Of The box, as we are still not sure of UBL and kernel sources, but seeing the track record of REALME, they will surely be out in a Month.
And as seen on R3p, atleast we will get an unofficial LOS. Also I know one developer who will be getting Realme X , sometime soon , so ???

I have a Samsung J2 SM-S260DL still stuck on Android 8.1. Some of the apps I use are now only compatible with Android 9 +. Is there any way to force an upgrade to Android 9 or 10?

It looks like 8.1 is the latest OEM release for that device.
Your only option to run a newer version of Android is with a custom ROM or a GSI. However, all the development I see is for the J200/J210, not the S260.

If there is no development available, the lack of a custom recovery makes things difficult.
Can you confirm whether your device is a SM-J260 or -S260? Settings > About should tell you; the model number is also printed on the back but can be hard to read

Hmm. Without a custom recovery, your options are pretty limited.
Are you able to unlock your bootloader?
