Hello.
I am unlocking the bootloader on my Razer Phone to get LineageOS 17.1.
But I play Pokémon Go and I wonder if it still works at LOS 17.1.
Have anyone been playing it at 17.1?
I saw some posts that Magisk may no longer be able to hide bootloader unlocking.
Is there any way to play without Magisk?

While unlocking and rooting works like a charm... - was anyone successful with installing root "the magisk way" maintaining complete safetynet validity?
I had no problems with installing magisk. Have root an Pogo running now
Hi strange.... What steps did you perform?
This is what I do:
- unlock bootloader, install twrp
- check: pogo works, safetynet is positive
- install magisk v8 in twrp
- reboot, no root, safetynet still positive
- install phh superuser 259 in twrp
- reboot, no root, safetynet fails its response
- installing magisk manager and phh superuser from playstore
- root is OK, but safetynet response negative, pogo not working
I tried both:
MIUI Global 8 stable (8.0.10.0.0 (MAGCNDH))
MIUI 8.1 by xiaomi.eu 6.10.27 | Beta
Anybody else tested this?
I wonder, can you run normal Pokemon Go from Play store?
There is one user who pretends that he got it working - but even after several tries I cannot confirm this.

I am looking for any ROM that can be installed and allows Android Pay to work. I sometimes forget my wallet and would like to have the ability to use Android Pay. I was excited when I got AICP to install and pass safety check, but it doesn`t actually work at the terminal. I now read that all AOSP based roms have problems with NFC payments.
Does anyone have this working on an M8. There are some old threads, but none that actually report that it works.
Are you rooted with Magisk?

Yes. So far I have tried AICP 7.1 Rom, which passed safetynet check, but would not actually work on a store's terminal. Perhaps an NFC issue with AOSP Rom? I also tried Lineage 15, but could not get it to recognize google play services and could not get the play store to work as a result. I am now on lineage 14.1, which agains passes safetynet check but will not work at the terminal.
As I am aware, Magisk only allows Android Pay to be installed, but when it comes time to validate the purchase, there is either an NFC problem or something prevents the purchase from being validated.
So if anyone has a non stock rom that works with android pay on the m8, I would like to know about it. There have been a few threads, but none seem to offer a current resolution.
I'm not personally a user of AOSP ROMs, nor Android Pay, so my advice is limited. Just chiming in, as long as you are passing SafetyNet, and have Magisk Hide enabled (in Magisk Manager settings) than I don't think it's a safety net or root issue. Like you said, it might be an issue with AOSP ROMs and NFC.
I tried Resurrection Remix. Same result. Passed safety check but would not work at the store terminal.
Cannot use payments on nougat. Have to go to marshmellow.
NFC works, but HCE does not, which is whats required.
Success. I went to ViperOneM8 6.1.0. Installed the rom. Then deactivated Su in the Su app. Then properly installed Magisk by creating a new boot.img file and then flashing that new boot.img file with twrp. Magisk 14 showed safetynet passed both test. Off I went to the store to buy a chocolate bar, unlocked the phone, tapped it on the terminal and buzz buzz, payment approved. Very nice.
So, yesterday I installed Lineage OS 15.0 and with that rooted my phone. The roms great but I'm facing certain difficulty with some apps. For e.g. Snapchat won't log in, Netflix doesn't appear in playstore which I think is also related to this.
I believe this is because of the root. Didn't know it would be such a big problem. Please give me suggestions and help me fix this.
Thank you
*Willing to unroot if that fixes the problem.
Did you root by SuperSU or Magisk?
SuperSU has suhide feature. Magisk has hide feature also.
Netflix not showing is definitely due to root. I don't use Snapchat, but that problem I believe is due to root, also. Rooting breaks a security feature called Safety Net, which is probably the cause if your issues.
Not sure if Lineage itself is enough to break Safety Net or not (some custom ROMs will break Safety Net). You can try to "dirty" flash Lineage (which will remove root) and run Lineage without root, and see if Netflix and Snapchat work. Then go from there (try suhide, or Magisk root and Magisk hide).
I have pixel (sailfish) running lineage 15.1 w/ microG and I've followed the exact steps from the official Magisk install page using Magisk v18.1 with manager 7.0 only to get the same safetynet api error. Ive even tried other suggested installation methods from: https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-...el-xl-0177522/
And it left me in a bootloop whereby I had to wipe and reinstall everything.
Anybody please help!
**I already tried clearing my Manager data and also testing MagiskHide by adding a root app to the Hide list and still get the same error
Hi,
How can I fix the Play Protect certification in Google Play without using Magisk? I already tried the method of registration the Device ID Framework (Google Service Framework (GSF)) in the Google’s Device Registration page (https://www.google.com/android/uncertified) but the status still not verifiend.
Should I lock the bootloader? If yes, can I have problem doing that with a Custom ROM and when I brick the phone again (needing flashing the Fastboot ROM)?
About that...this is a Custom ROM problem or what? I don't want use Magisk because I got some apps problem even using Magisk Hide and I realy don't need use a root device. So I solve the problems with the apps taking off the Magisk, but I got a new problem with Play Protect that don't let me install some apps like Netflix from Play Store. This is a problem that I don't want have.
I was using my Mi9SE (grus) with original ROM for 2 years and this week I chose put a Custom ROM, so I did it with Xiaomi.eu (xiaomi.eu_multi_MI9SE_V12.0.3.0.QFBCNXM_v12-10). I've bricked and learn a lot of things with this choice, but there's some that I didn't find solutions. Since I'm "old school", I need to know if I will have more awnsers from Telegram than here?
Tks!
I found this "solution":
1) Through TWRP clear the folder /data/data/com.google.android.gms/app_dg_cache
2) Set the permissions (chmod) 0644 the folder /data/data/com.google.android.gms/app_dg_cache
May need to clear GPay data after reboot
GPay works on my POCO F2 Pro, no Magisk, no Google Play certification
from here (https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/miui-12-0-stable-release.56191/page-124#post-574285)
The Play Protect still not passing (shows up not verified) BUT you can install the apps like Netflix normally.
So...it's working without ROOT, MAGISK and with UNLOCK bootloader.
EDIT: with that "solution" I started witnessing some bugs from Contacts in WhatsApp and higher time to install apps from Google Play.
