Hello, I've got a xiaomi redmi note 8, MUI Global 11.0.9; and whenever I turn it up or reboot it I get that Xiaomi SIM Activation Service can't activate the SIM card and I get the error "reach_downlink_sms_limitation". I've tried so far:
1.- changing the SIM name with my phone number
2.- Allowing Mi account all permissions
3.- Allowing roaming
4.- Buying roaming messages
5.- I managed to link my cell phone number to Mi account from the web (and I did manage to get the SMS on my phone)
How can I fix this? Furthermore, is it safe to attempt a bootload as it is?
Many thanks in advance
Hi, I just had this issue today (bought my phone yesterday), and searched for solutions, I did all of them and when I finally tried the activation, it worked, I'm not sure what solution was the right one but I'm gonna tell you what I did.
First make sure you have credits (cause each time you try, it'll charge you)
- Enter your phone number in Messages settings (Messages > Settings > Advanced > Phone number).
- Enter the correct APN of your provider.
- Allow Data Usage for Xiaomi Service and Xiaomi SIM Activation Service.
(By changing this option in their settings like this)

}
That's all, I then rebooted my phone, the Wi-Fi, mobile data and roaming all were off, the error message appeared but when I clicked try again this time it worked.
Hi, thanks for asnwering, I'm a total noob in this, how do I enter the APN provider?

Is it possible to restrict the phone numbers the phone can call?
I want to restrict calling to certain list of approved phone numbers. Is this possible?
Should be possible with any phone and carrier, as long as you know your sim's PIN2 code. You should be able to enable it in Settings > Call > Fixed Dialing Numbers.
Good luck finding your SIM PIN 2 though. The default for T-Mobile is supposedly 5678, but I have found that it is hit or miss whether T-Mobile SIMs actually have the default values.
I can't speak for US users, but in Romania every SIM comes with its own set of PIN, PIN2, PUK, PUK2.
So I'm SOL with a Bell Desire Z?
If you can't find the PIN2 on the SIM card (the large, credit card-sized one), call Bell and they should be able to provide you with one.
Maybe I'm just missing it, but on the European ROM I can't see anything under Call->Settings for fixed dialling numbers.

Build 1.34.405.5, CID HTC__032 (WWE, not branded)
Thanks. That's odd though, because I'm on that same ROM version and I don't see those options. I can only guess that it must be carrier/SIMcard-specific ?
Hi
I bought a month ago on ebay, the Xperia S. With lock on the Three network (UK). But only now had time to unlock the phone. I bought an unlock code from one of the sites on the internet. I typed the code - the phone is unlocked.
After inserting the card I have four lines network. Phone retrieves the MMS settings and internet.
But ... You can not make calls or send text messages. I have a "mobile network not available".
Sim card works (works in another phone). Earlrier I made the update to the latest Android (JB). Now, back to the old Gingerbread and the next is the same.
What could be wrong? Someone sold me a broken phone?
The IMEI number normally displayed in the options. What else can I check?
Can it be locked after the theft?
- Phone normally asks for your PIN code.
- If you try to make a call pops "mobile network not avaible"
- When I go to settings / call settings / call fowarding pops up "Network or SIM card error"
- Before I obtain an unlock code I installed the root and CWM.
- Now the phone has been tested on the latest JB (Sony Update service) and old Gingerbread (flashtool)
- At the beginning of the phone showed a logo of the original Three network. Now, even after updating by Service Update jumps into my system without logos (do not know if this has any meaning).
- My sim card is Lebara

Hello folks,
i have Samsung Galaxy J2; its a year old. Yesterday, my device got stuck and after restarting the device, it failed to open up normally. So i did a factory reset ! But it took me to Wi-Fi Connection setup and enter gmail id.
As i remember this phone belonged to my father, when he purchased, the shop keeper must have made a gmail id for him and entered like so.
But now, as i enter my gmail id , it refuses to accept my gmail id, my father can't remember his gmail id.
Also my phone is running Android OS 5.1 or higher and it must have had Android Factory Reset Protection (FRP) turned on.
This feature allows you to set up your device to prevent other people from using it if it's been reset to factory settings without your permission. For example, if your device is lost, stolen, flashed, or wiped, only someone with your Google account or screen lock information can perform a factory data reset and use the device.

I don't know if there is another way to access my device. Or to flash it with different ROM.
I found a similar thread with the same problem but its almost 2 yrs old.

My mobile spec:
Samsung Galaxy J2 runs Android 5.1

Is there a fix yet for this problem. I will waste a perfectly good amount of money if i don't fix it.
Awaiting some solution.
I just remembered where i had kept my gmail id. Did a little searching and found and my device opened up.
Every thing is working properly now.

Muhuhhahahaa
I was factory reset my device yesterday but due to some issues I was not able to reset because it was asking for the Mi account password, so I have formatted data using the recovery. Now when doing power on its asking for password of existing account which was logged in. So I'm entering the password but getting error as shown to picture. I've also flash the latest ROM using fastboot method but not able to bypass.
Can anyone help me.

Turn on internet data and then enter password . It require internet connection to verify the password
if you cant login to the phone to unlocked it, you can login to the mi cloud website and remove the device from your account. restart your device and it will no longer asking for your password
Need urgent help please!!
Made the unlock. After the reboot, the phone is asking to activate the device and insert the password associated to the account or open the wifi settings!! It doesn't accept my password because it's not connected to the network.
But when I try to connect to the network, I can't insert the wifi password, since the keyboard doesn't pops up!!!!
Please help. Tried do make a hotspot with my wife's phone but, altought it connects to the network, doesn't connect to the Internet!!!!!
And why the hell I can use the keyboard to insert the password, but it doesn't appear to access the wi fi network!?!?!
Please help since right now, I am without a phone (
Thank you in advance!!
EDIT:
I managed to validate my account. But, the backup I made in Mi Cloud is nowhere to be seen. Only a backup I've made in 2017 for Redmi Note 4... the most recent it isn't there .
Help! S20 plus emergency calls only
Hi everyone! I bought an used s20 plus G985F for my wife about a month ago, the previously owner had rooted the device. Today I downloaded the most recent software and patched via Odin. The phone now works fine, updates via OTA and Samsung pay are available. But now it only stays in "Emergency calls only". It recognizes the sim card but doesn't make or receive calls or SMS. When I first flashed I tried "HOME CSC" so I didn't loose her data, but I didn't worked so I had to factory reset it, then I flashed the rom again with the CSC but it still stays on emergency call only. I tried resetting the network settings but didn't work as well. Can anyone help sleep in a warm bed tonight? LOL
Thanks!
Anyone?

I used the samfw to detect the device, compared the rom in the sammobile website and it was the same. Is there anyway to check if this is the problem?
These are the phone specifications, if it helps. Can anyone tell if it is the wrong rom?
