Geeky question - how many transistors on the phone? - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

As the title states, it's a geeky question. I'm trying to get an idea of how robust the artificial intelligence (AI) engine is on the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra (T-Mobile snapdragon version). I tried Google searching with no results. I also chatted with a Samsung "expert" who had no idea (go figure).
I used to own a Huawei Mate 20 and now I own the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Got rid of the Huawei phone before doing a real world comparison. The Huawei Mate 20 contained 6.9 billions transistors on its AI engine.
So if anyone knows how many transistor are on the snapdragon version S20 Ultra SoC, I'll just compare that to the number of transistors on the Huawei phone to get a ballpark idea which phone has a more robust AI engine.

It appears Qualcomm hasn't released that info on their latest Kyro cores (yet). However, you can't really do an apples to apples comparison of the 2 devices AI engines by just comparing transistor count...
But...
the snapdragon 855 had 6.7b, 845 5.3b, 835 3b... so i guess you could extrapolate from those #'s and make a guess...

[Q] Which processor really are in Tab S ? (8.4 and 10.5)

According to the info appearing at Samsung, TAB S tablet has an "octa core processor", there is no reference about type or model. or brand.
Info appering at PDADB is:
SM-T705 , SM-T705C, SM-T705M and SM-T705Y: all have Samsung Exynos 5 Octa 5420
SM-T805, SM-T805C, SM-T805Y: all have Samsung Exynos 5 Octa 5420
SM-T805K, SM-T805L, SM-T805S: all have Samsung Exynos 5 Octa 5433
This forum says about TAB S : Qualcomm Snapdragon 800
I live in Colombia, we have here models T705M and T805M.
A local vendor says both models mount an "Adonis Prime+ XMM7160" processor
Can anybody clarify this mess ? are there really different processors for same model ? if so, are there any performance difference between those processors ?
Thanks,
Update:
It seems "Adonis Prime" is an alias for Exynos 5420.
Yeah, It`s a right mess different cpu for different markets and configurations.
Even the Samsung website for my region only gives the cpu speed and quad or octo core, but not a brand or model number, octo is normally exynos and quad is snapdragon at the moment.
Best to check with the supplier before purchasing if you want a certain model of cpu.
Never heard of the "Adonis Prime+ XMM7160" processor" will have to do a search, EDIT: Intel modem soc ??? see link below.
Some Samsung android tablets use Intel atom cpu, but normally the low priced choices.

Practically you will have a 5420 CPU in all but a couple of ones, the 807 AT&T etc ones. So expect the 5420 almost certainly. Watch out your local vendor has genuine stock, exynos with intel mobile chip is what you will get if genuine.
That quote seems wrong a bit wrong with me.

Thanks for your answers.
From the info I got since yesterday, it seems:
1. Exynos 54xx series is called also "Adonis":
One source (there are several similar): http://tech2yantra.blogspot.com/2014/04/are-you-getting-real-galaxy-s5-latest.html
2. XMM7160 is a modem LTE chip (from Intel):
Source: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us...e-communications/mobile-xmm-7160-1-brief.html
With this info, I guess the vendor is really very precise: Adonis Prime + (plus) XMM7160 are really the chips used by a Galaxy Tab S. (CPU + LTE modem).
It could be a little confusing because the name "Adonis" is not quoted normally (I found several quotes to "Adonis" in S5 in sites from Romania, Russia, India, etc)
What do you think about this "interpretation" ?
They do all these study's on what names and words work in different country's, some words that are fine in the west, might be offensive in some country's as they mean different things.
It certainty is confusing, so stop using words and use number, but not 666, 13, 7777 where does it end.

The Note 8 because the S9 with the 9810 performs like a slightly better Exynos 8895 with worse efficiency. Although the Note 8 has no project treble. If you get the Note 8 you would have to rely on Lineage.
Read this article about the Exynos 9810 and the s9:
https://www.anandtech.com/show/12520/the-galaxy-s9-review/8
I would say import the G9600 which is the the Snapdragon s9 which has a boot loader which can be unlocked although the development is dead but at least you can get TWRP and flash a GSI and get project treble.
Or get the Exynos s9+ bigger battery and it performs like a slightly better Note 8 with about the same battery life/SOT.
I would stay far away from the regular s9 because a lot of people are reporting bad battery life because of the Exynos 9810. Either pay a bit more and get the s9+ with the Exy 9810 or get the Note 8 and rely on Lineage. Btw I have the s9+ Exynos.
Thanks ??? awesome details!!! Thanks a lot for all this informations.
All plus variant are too expensive here.
Note 8 has no stereo speaker too :/
I found a MI mix2s for 350$ I think I'll go with this.

I made a gaming comparison between Exynos9825 and Snapdragon855

Sadly just like its brother 9820, 9825 is trashed by 855.
When can Samsung stop forcing the inferior product on us?
Snapdragon 855 winner!

Question OP 9 Pro or S21 Ultra?

Hi, I want to update my 6T.
I don't know which one is better, OP 9Pro or S21 Ultra?
What do yo guys think?
Why I like OP 9 Pro?
- Snapdragon 888
- Thinner
- It comes with super charger
- Lighter
Why I like Samsung S21 Ultra?
- Cheaper (Exynos versión $877 12gb - 256Gb) divided at 9 monthly fees without interest.
- Better camera
Which one will you buy if they were at the same price?
Do you know if Samsung launch faster updates than OP or is it the opposite?
Thanks and sorry for my english
I had both in my cart and chose 9pro. I paid 800 usf for it. The s21 ultra is 1200 usd. The 9 pro has the same processor and everyone talked crap about the camera, but I think it's pretty good. They have same 5g processor. Samsung has micro sd slot which I got away from years ago. Samsungs touchwiz is something I don't care for after having 2 phones a s7edge and a note 10 very laggy(uses a lot of resources). If you want the best camera on a phone buy a nokia or Google phone.
I have also owned a 6t and 7tpro mclaren version phones.
At the current prices, I'd take the S21 Ultra. Having used both Samsung and OnePlus phones, I think Samsung provides a more polished product. I'm not saying that the OnePlus 9 Pro is a bad phone, but it doesn't seem like a good value compared to the competition at the moment. Heck, a brand new OnePlus 8 Pro is $599 through OnePlus right now and has virtually all the same qualities. The reports of overheating and unstable software don't help the 9 Pro either. If it gets a discounted price in the coming months, then it may be a more compelling option.
I'd probably take the Ultra. It's a better device all around, but to me it's a bit TOO big. Updates will be faster with the Ultra, Samsung has consistently been putting out monthly updates since the S10. The device will also be supported longer, if you keep your phones for a few years.
OP 9 pro. In my country Samsung sells s21 ultra with exynos processors So no thanks.. If it would have snapdragon I would've choosen s21 ultra
The main complaint about the Exynos is that it gets hotter. Well, the OP9 Pro overheats anyways, so there's no real difference. Oh, and people complain about the Exynos being 0.0xxx% slower, like they could actually feel the difference.

Yeah I hear the exynos is just about as good as this year's 888 and it's almost impossible to tell the difference.

I haven't had any problems with overheating of the OnePlus 9 pro yet. In what situations should this happen?
Both the Exynos and SD888 run hot and throttle. Here is a pretty good breakdown and comparison of the 2 chips: https://www.anandtech.com/show/16463/snapdragon-888-vs-exynos-2100-galaxy-s21-ultra
More worrisome for the Exynos is its weird clock behaviour, with the new chip really struggling in maintaining its peak frequencies other than for very brief moments – the Snapdragon 888’s X1 core had no such issues. My Exynos S21 Ultra chip bin was quite terrible here, but the better silicon on my second S21 doesn’t improve things too much either.

Basically, the Exynos can run as well as the SD888 in terms of peak performance, but that's partially because Samsung is running it overclocked and it gets HOT. Yes, the SD888 gets hot and throttles, but the Exynos gets hotter sooner, drains battery, and the GPU just sucks (and equally power hungry).
Thanks to everybody for your help. I've decided by S21 Ultra because of the price. Here un Argentina i can get it for less money.
I'm a Oneplus follower but this time, my wallet choose.
As a person that has owned an S21 Ultra since it was launched in the USA, I would choose the OP 9 Pro. I have just ordered one through tmobile and can't wait!
Personally, the S21 Ultra was primarily used for youtube vanced, browsing, and as a business cell. I highly value the software and prefer OP's Oxygen OS over OneUI, hence why I'm replacing the S21 Ultra.
Both phones are great and you can't go wrong with either, but software matters the most to me and I didn't think I'd miss OOS as much as I have.
I know OP already made the decision.
Here in the US the OnePlus is cheaper.
I found a mint 9 Pro for $900 with the original receipt and unused buds.
The S21 ultra is about $1000. But can't be rooted unless I spend $150 for a bootloader unlock. That makes it more than $1300 because I have to pay tax on the phone.
Too rich for my blood.
Samsung with Exynox, NO !
Samsung full of Bloatware! Bleah! Oxygen is one of the cleanest Android OS.
I saw many reviews about camera with S21ultra & OnePlu 9 pro. S21 is better, but not by a lot.
I prefer the the OnePlus here in the usa and the Global 7pro, 8pro, 9pro have worked out well for me with T-Mobile!
Actually I prefer the camera of the OP9 Pro over the Mi11 Ultra and the S21 Ultra. The other two might be better for you if you need 10x Zoom very often.
OS and updates? Samsung has quick updates as well, but Oxygen OS from OnePlus is just so clean and close to stock imo. Xiaomis MIUI is pretty good as well - though I had so many bugs on my mi10 pro which haven't been fixed. And they don't update that often or the OTA doesn't work that well - I was on October 2020's android security version until April 2021.
Charging and battery: OnePlus and Xiaomi charge much faster than Samsung. Battery life is probably really close between those 3.
Rooting the Samsung will break Knox with all it's downsides. A lot depends on your preferences but I would go with the OnePlus.

Depends. Are you an Android lover or a nonce. ?
In my country
S21U no warranty imported Snap888 (256GB not 128GB) = 1,014 USD
S21U retail 1yr warranty Exynos = 826 USD
OP9P no warranty imported RAM8/256GB = 839 USD
OP9P retail soon (nearly into the market)

9 pro over exynos s21U. Coz exynos sux, oneui is another meh. software is pretty meh on samsung after android 11. If you getting sd s21U then maibe. If you more concerned on the camera than anything else then go for samsung
Don't Leave out the charging speed.
50w wireless.., not many phones does that with cable plug in.
65w cable charging, is even faster. Awesome.

Question Galaxy s22 vs Xiaomi 12

Hello!
If you are here I bet you like your galaxy phones or you are like me and like have a powerful phone that is small... Ish.
(I've posted a similar thread for the Xiaomi side)
I am coming from an amazing old Zuk z2 pro... Which is a similar size as the galaxy s22 but is missing all those new cool things...
So it is time to change and update (I think).
I am getting ahead of myself (as the xiaomi 12 has not been announced outside of China... Not that it would stop me...) but :
Which one would you prefer and why?
Thanks!
s22 all the way... samsung's software is way optimized than xiaomi's. also with s21 and s22 they are providing 4 years of major android updates. xiaomi provides 3 yrs i guess... i would definitely go with s22, especially s22+
