Hi guys ...
when you plan to buy a full-feature pocket pc and tried to search within the latest released models at least you find one or two feautres missing that will ruin your plans ..
I was lookingforward to own the HTC HD , it has all the specs I want except the TV-out ?!!
I don`t know why they didn`t include it like the previous model touch pro , any way I seached the web looking for what you can say an external TV-out that could be plugged to USB port ..and found one in this site : http://fashionstar.en.alibaba.com/p...48/HDTV_Frame_Station/HDTV_Frame_Station.html
so as I mentioned before in the topic , will it work with pocket pcs cause they said in the their website :USB interface:Can be connected to U-Disc,Camera,Mobile,etc...
thanks in advance //
no replies until now !!
maybe..
if the tv works as usbHost it should be able to access the mass storage controler and access the media
but it would be the tv desiding what it could play in terms of video and music and powerpoint and the likes
and i would prob not depend on most tv's being able to support that much and
maybe not at a high fps
so it's really not any more tvout for the device then it's a tvout for something like
an usbKeyring with memory
I`ve uploaded the PDF file describing the features ..

After take a look at the manual, it looks like it can access the multimedia files stored on your PDA and play them.
This is different to a TV-out PDA, that plays on a TV an exact replica of what presenton the PDA screen.

Gentlemen,
I have a GNex that I no longer use for phone duty (was replaced with Nexus 4), and am contemplating converting it to a steamer tv box (a la Google TV).
I have a MHL adapter coming today, and I have the portrait-orientation dock as well. Shameful display from Samsung for making mirroring not work past 4.0.3 with the dock, thus a 3rd party MHL adapter is now needed. I have diNovo Mini on controller duty.
I did some testing (GNex on 4.0.2 + Samsung Dock) on a 22" 1080p monitor, and everything just looked huge and bad and blurry with the factory ROM. I installed the latest build of ParanoidAndroid, put the phone in Tablet mode, and shrunk everything as small as it will go. Couldn't test it with the monitor (Dock doesn't mirror with JB) yet, but at least on the device screen, things look more favorable.
Questions --
1 - Is there a recommended ROM for this (other than Paranoid) that will let me Tablet/Phablet layout + scale elements to not look like hell blown up to a 42" 1080p screen ?
2a - Are there any useful media apps I should know about (other than XBMC, Netflix, TV.com, Streamie) ?
2b - Are there any useful utility apps I should know about (other than Sixaxis Controller) ?
3 - Is there a better launcher than stock for this use? (I tried TVLauncher and didn't care for it).
4 - Or, forget about the whole thing and wait for my OUYA to show up in March?
Thanks.
iMediaShare has lots of channels and content for streaming.
Ubuntu comes out soon, you could run XBMC through that and have more control of the UI. I believe Ubuntu goes to a full desktop mode so it'll look good on a monitor/large display.
This would also allow for more powerful remote desktop use too.
I was under the impression that it only mirrors the output, so you need something like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1934495 to proceed.
You don't really need full Panadroid, just a DPI change to force tablet mode all the time.
Hi guys,
I just bought my hdtv adapter in order to connect my tab to my TV trough HDMI and happily see netflix everynight..... The thing is that for any reason when I plug the cable de image in the TV is a clone of the image in the tablet, but the uggliest point is that when I put a movie in netflix not only the image in the TV is not escalated ( I see the movie in part of the TV screen) but subtitles are not in the TV screen but they are in the tablet.
Any idea how can I can get it fixed. Is there any hdmi output control software or something like that?.
I'm trying yo get my TV dispay as an extension of the galaxy note display.
Thanks!.
I just found out, to my disappointment, the same behaviour with netflix and the allcast dongle.

do you think it's a netflix app issue or the hdmi output resolution that it's unable to fit the whole tv screen?. I hope there is a software to fix it.
Unfortunately, I do not have a clue. I will probably try and buy an android stick to bypass the problem

I would have expected stock was better than this. Seems like a lot of devices have issues with UI overlays and HDMI output. Sounds like even Samsung's stock hwcomposer is a steaming pile of ****. Or this is one of the consequences of Netflix's weirdo JPlayer.
Oh wait, never mind, stock is 4.1, JPlayer isn't used... Probably just Samsung brokenness.
For example, my Xperia T has the following issues when outputting Netflix over MHL:
UI overlays do not appear
Anamorphic video is not scaled properly. (For example, Star Trek: Enterprise on Netflix is anamorphic 640x480 video - e.g. it is stretched to display as widescreen and the pixels do not have a square aspect ratio, but when output over MHL it is displayed as if the pixels were square.)

Yeah, that what I've just noticed. The UI overlay does not properly works... I can't see subtitles in my tv screen.
Isn't there any player or another kind of soft to play netflix movies thorugh? or even better, a fix to it...
BTW... i bought the hdmi adapter for my galaxy s3 and now the image in the mobile escales perfectly to 1080p however the overlay issue is still there..., I'M NOT ALE TO SEE THE #"!#$&/( SUBTITLES... :crying::crying:
I hope there's a fix.

Sadly, this seems to be inherent to the HDMI mirror process, as I get the same on my Xoom and all my Moto phones: clear audio and video, but no overlays (controls, subtitles, etc.)
same with Play Movies
I have the same problem with my note 2, note 10.1, over hdmi adapter or allsharecast dongle both with netflix and play movies. Subtitles only on the tablet.
I have contact samsung and google about yhis annoying issue and they both try to blame each other instead of giving me a solution.
What I don't understand is how such a basic thing is not possible
When you use BS player and software encoder the subs is showing in the TV and the phone-tablet. I remember it was the same with the first Nvidia gforce graphick cards with comp-scart output on windows XP. I think it is a hardware problem. I think we need a new genaration og GPU hardware. Question is, what about Nvidia Tegra 4 chipset phones or Shield device???
Have someone got an android phone (could be LG X2) with a real HDMI output purhaps it is a MHL-HDMI problem
It's a hardware issue, yes- the movie is rendered via the hardware-accelerated video channel that also outputs thru the HDMI (and/or Miracast) streams. However, since subtitles (and other such overlays) are decoded and rendered outside the main video stream (that's done on a seperate video channel) that's normally overlaid over the display stream.
This issue isn't limited to just Exynos chips, either- I know for sure the Tegra2 and one of the QCT Snapdragons is like this, too; I suspect the issue actually comes from Hollywood, as DRM protection implies you can't manipulate the buffer that's displaying the external streams (yes, even for your own (non-DRMed) content, sadly), but don't quote me on this.
In order for a player to give you subtitles that display on external devices they'd have to render everything in software, and I don't think every stream will play smoothly that way. I do remember seeing a video player that does do subtitles on the All-Share Cast stream; I think it was the Archos one.
I think what you most have, is just a setting problem.
I have galaxy s3 and samsung tv connected through hdmi adapter.
By default this behaves exactly as my windows media pc, app. 10 pixels are cut on all sides. When you change your tv settings not to overscan, the image is perfect. In samsung tvs (tested 50" plasma and 22" lcd) you do this in by setting the size of the display, from 16:9 to customized. I have Finnish ui, so i do not know the exact terms.
In this way most of the programs work ok, including e.g. Xbmc.
But this does not fix netflix, it is seen on tv as 4:3 without any subtitles. So i would blame netflix first.

I have purchased the Note 3 and the subtitles are displayed properly on my TV now. I don't know if it is a fix from either Android 4.3 or from Samsung.

Got myself a 'made in China' pocket projector.
It only has the size of a phone and has a 5000mah battery so it's easy to enjoy a big screen everywhere.
(A full battery gives about 2 hours and 15 minutes of projection time at full brightness and the projector easily goes over 100 inch in projection size)
It has Wifi & Bluetooth, 2 usb connections, an infra red receiver, a hdmi out, earphone/line-out and runs on Android 4.4.4.
The usb makes it easy to connect harddisk, memory stick,.. but also things like keyboard & mouse. (you can also use it as a powerbank to charge your phone.-
The built in speaker has 1 Watt and sounds quite loud for this little device but it has no bass so you can connect it also to a soundsystem with the line out (or wireless with bluetooth) for better sound experience
It has a native 854 by 480 resolution, which is not HD but as you see in the youtube video it is a very clear and sharp image.
The built-in media player supports about every music, video and picture format (if it is supported by an app in android)
It is advertised on various websites going from 120 Ansi Lumen up to 1000 lumens but the actual lumens are 100.
For such a small projector this is more then enough. It is visible inside during daytime (not outside in direct sunlight) but it is at it's best in low light/dark room situation.
The Playstore is fully working so almost every app can be installed. Apps that mirror your phone/laptop screen let you enjoy everything wireless with wifi on a big screen
The launcher provided is nice but provides no settings which is a shame because if i delete an app from the homescreen the picture shortcut will stay and i can't replace it with something else. (I however always can install another launcher from the playstore)
It also has no pulldown menu for notifications/quicksettings, so if i get a notification, i can hear it but i cannot open the pulldown screen
The quadcore Arm Cortex a7 with RK3128 chip makes the Android in this projector react very smooth & fast.
It has 1 gigabyte ram & 16 Gigabyte internal memory. 1 gigabyte is not that much because most apps will only install in this memory and you start with only about 500 megabyte of free storage place.
The only minus is the Hdmi connection slot.. It doesn't support Hdmi IN, only hdmi out, that means you can not connect a game console to it for playing games. The Chinese sellers didn't mention it was only hdmi out.. (who wants a hdmi out to a smaller tv screen that shuts down the projection screen once connected lol)
Hello Man,
I thinking about other using of this, so i would like install to device IFTTT (if this then that) app. It's can be working? I would like to using this device for wakeup alarm video (ie. a short movie from internal memory).
thanks.

Bricked mine - help
I saw there was an update available and downloaded it. Got an error on install and now it's stuck on the recovery system screen. None of the options get it out of the loop. Know anyplace where there's a factory image?

Fixed!
Got hold of the vendor thru Amazon. Downloaded the image file and installer program (713mb). Went smoothly thru a male to male USB cable. Now have the latest upgrade. htc_d002_box_en_noota_20160317-3.img
Where you find this vendor? My projector after update not working and now in recovery mode too
Vendor
The vendor was hard to contact directly. Amazon intercepts communications and edits out email addresses, even when you try to disguise them.
Eventually, they did get an email to me directly and included the installer zip file and the instruction doc file. And a link to mailQQ.com where they had put the .img file.
The return email address I got was [email protected]

Thank you very much for helping, now I repairing my projector and everything is working
Hello, can you tell me if it has keystone correction?
Thanks
No, it doesn't. Only focus.
ASK
Hi,
Is it possibile to switch off the LED (and fan) from API or other way? (like standby mode in a smartphone. Processes are running, ie. alarm clock,etc.). Thx.
I don't know. I'm not a programmer.
Is this a clone of the EcSee M6 projector?
If so, is there a difference?
Can you say something to the fan noise?
It DOES say M6 on the box it came in and the logo M6 is shown on the illustration in the instruction booklet but not on the projector. That's all I know about it.
The fan noise is audible but not bad enough to distract from the audio. The fan slows down and is quieter when not using the charger.
Thank you for the fast answer.
So I am looking forward to get it soon, it's on it's way from gearbest.
Does it have OTA update function?
Please note my previous post about updates. This projector's android version still includes setup apps that may try to use a cell phone chip that's NOT in the unit as it seems to have been developed using a HTC image. I STRONGLY discourage anyone from using the OTA update function of this unit.
Received it and it works perfect.
I would like to mod the fan as its a little to loud.
There are quieter fans on the market.
Has anyone tried to open the projector?

The feeling is mutual, i've received the projector yesterday and i was very excited to replace the TV with this huge screen, but the noise of the fan is still echoing in my head. Just spoke to an expert that told me to try to put some grease/vaseline (industrial) or to replace the fan with a best one. He has no problem to make that operation but my question is is there a quieter fan ?
Would anyone be able to upload the firmware? I have contacted the manufactures but haven't heard back yet... probably due to Chinese holiday. Mine was June 2016, but I think an older kernel would work.
I need the firmware too because i have the chinese firmware (no play store) and i would change to english firmware with kodi and play store.
Thanks.
I have the same device - but i stock on recovery. i need rom for that device. someone know from where?
Hey there,
I have my shield (16GB 2017 version) for quite a while now, but I feel like I'm not using it to it's full potential.
Right now what I did is: Install Kodi and use Kodi... and that works as there is nothing wrong with Kodi. But why work with Android TV if the first thing I do is install a different media system?
So how to get the features I use from Kodi moved out of .. euh.. Kodi? Like I use IPTV, (DL'd) movies, (DL'd) series. I can imagine with the channels system in Android TV the same "experience" can be achieved. Like how do I make a "channel" based on a share in my network? And how to add "information" as Kodi has (so description, thumbnails, etc etc), EPG information for my IPTV, and stuff like that.
Furthermore, the channels also bug me (2 edged sword I guess). Some part of NVidia/Android wants to force themselves on me.. suggested channels always come back up no matter how often I disable them in the settings. Is there a way to just remove all channels except the ones I use? And I mean physically remove so that they never ever pop back up again, unless I hard-reinstall them. (and yes I'm rooted)
Lastly the bluetooth range bugs me, I've read through all the guides and yes they do work, but the range is still mediocre. Now I am looking at the hardware mod to add a 2.4Ghz antenna now is my soldering .. terrible to say the least, but I'll figure that out, but is there a more clear "guide" out there on how to open the shield and stuff like that?
Anyhoo thx for any information
Android TV by itself is not a media player. You can use google's media player if you wish , but don't expect it to be better than kodi. You can have kodi show whatever you want on the Android homepage , look at this : https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=332589 I use NEXTpvr to handle my IPTV on kodi, but it requires a pc that is running next pvr. Kodi has numerous IPTV addons for you to choose from. I am not sure how you've disabled the channels you don't want to see , but those that I have disabled have never showed up again. The only channels displayed on my shield are the Apps channel and Netflix, everything else is removed. A typical class 2 bluetooth will only have a 10 meter range (33 feet) and it's even less with interference and all the other 2.4 ghz signals around (Wifi , cordless phones , etc) so short range is perfectly normal. Youtube has a bunch of videos on how to disassemble your shield. Has for soldering skills , find a crap piece of electronics somewhere and pratice soldering on this before you attempt to solder in your shield if you have no experience.
All this info was easily found using your favorite search engine.. Probably why nobody bothered to answer you..
