Yes I had it connected to my iPad Pro.
My first process i tried was using my usb-c that came with my note 10+. I connected 1 end to my usb-c to my iPad Pro, and Then I connected the other end to my note 10+. These was the option I saw
Transferring Files / Android Auto
USB Tethering
MIDI
Transferring Images
Charging Phone Only
I even tried using the usb-c from the iPad Pro and connect it to my Note 10+ and I received the option above.

Is there something that needs to be done on the iPad side? Are you even sure this is a function supported by the iPad?
Why not just install Google Photos on your iPad and then any photos on your phone are visible on the iPad. In addition, you can download from Google photos to the iPad
I Google some options (which would have been a great place for you to start). Look for Photos Import on your iPad.

Are you even sure this is a function supported by the iPad? Well, Apple’s Mac OS X doesn’t include MTP support at all since the iPod, iPhone, and iPad use their own iTunes. Google provides an Android File Transfer application for Mac OS X, a simple MTP client that works for transferring files back and forth on a Mac.

( Well getting my photos from the Note 10+ to the ipad works with the apple photos app. Its getting the video to transfer over to the iPad is the issue I'm having. When I connect both device using apple USB-C, i'm not seeing the PTP option, to which I believe is the issue.
To add more to the Google Photos process, to upload videos I would need a wi-fi, and that would be ideal. It's not all the time a wi-fi access would be readily accessible to me so I can upload videos and download videos at a moment notice and especially if I'm moving about. Google Photos will work but its just not a ideal option. )
Now in this Youtube tutorial, this gentleman was able to transfer his videos over to ipad using PTP with his google pixel phone which is running android, so why cant a thousand dollar phone do the same thing and its running android. I'm trying to get all I can out of this device.

Apparently you are doing something wrong, since there is a video showing how it is done. Why not try an apple forum if you are just going to slam Android? I offered a suggestion that is simple, but you don't want to pay for mobile service (which makes me wonder why bother having a mobile phone), so I can't help. Try harder on Google. It only took me 3 seconds to find one possible solution...

Apparently you are doing something wrong,.. Wow!!!!! , Well I did explain all the option I was getting correct, and the one option I was not getting was the PTP, but ok appartently I am doing something wrong.
further more I had added the video just to show the steps and so you can see what i'm saying about the PTP that its available on his device but its not showing on my phone but apparently Im doing something wrong. Not to mention I added the link to be the best way to answer your question. Somehow you took my response wrong. But apparently i'm doing something wrong. Yes you offered a suggestion and thank you for your suggestion, and I offered a answer to your suggestion and not to cut down your suggestion down. So thank you for your suggestion. I just simply stated that, Google Photos was not a good option for video no harm no foul. Who's trying to slam android that's furthest from my mind.
I came on XDA to learn and for help not for this back and fourth stuff how does this help me. Thank you for help and your suggestion. I will keep searching for answers on my own, no problem if someone else is willing to help great!!!
So thank you in advance.!!!!
kind person.

Android File Transfer (Mac) Freezes when transferring pictures?

Hope i'm not alone here.
I've been having issues moving pictures taken by my Galaxy Nexus to my mac computer running Mountain Lion. Every time I start a photo transfer it always stop at about 2.8MB and the time remaining would simply go up indefinitely.
Copying the same files to a PC computer works fine. And reading catlog or console doesn't seem to reveal any file related errors.
Has anyone got the issue or any ideas how to locate the fault?
I have tons of problems with it as well. frequent freezes just loading up the application when i plug my phone in. would either take out the program or lock up the entire laptop.
i've just given up using it. if i need something off my phone bad enough i'll reboot into windows and get it onto the HDD that way.
running Lion 10.8
Freezes happen now and then. Just unplug and replug. Its a bit finnicky.
I connect it as a camera and just use iPhoto

I was talking in general. Apple can't just make it easy for an Android product to connect with a Mac. I used to have problems with my Xoom also.

But the reason why there are issues here is because of MTP, which isn't an Apple invention... People have just as much or even more problems connecting via MTP to Windows.

[Q] Texting on Galaxy s3 using pc

Hi, first off, I haven't ever needed to post much here before but I love to read all the stuff available here at this site. Top notch man!
Anyway, I have a question that I cannot seem to find an answer to, and have tried numerous search terms to no avail.
Is there a way where I can hook up my s3 to my PC and be able to see the text messaging interface on the PC as well as use the keyboard on the PC to interact with them?
The PC is running WIn XP SP3 and I also have a laptop that runs Win 7.
After hours of texting, this would be much more comfortable on the eyes, and using the full sized keyboard on my PC would mean less typo corrections due to striking the wrong letters. If anyone has a solution for this, or can suggest an app that does this, please respond.
Thanks in advance.
Yesterday I saw an app on market for that .
Search text from pc or text from tablet. There are bunch off apps.

Thanks!, Not exactly what I was looking for but a good alternative. The ultimate would be to have the GS 3 connected via the micro USB and then see the messaging GUI as seen on my phone on my PC screen while being able to use my PC keyboard for interaction. I am guessing this doesn't really exist as of yet.

Actually I saw some pics of my friend whose usb connector has a female usb port at the other end which has a usb mouse connected, and it works. You should try to look for that connector and try your keyboard. :cyclops:
Not sure if I understand your question exactly but you might want to try Kies Air. It's either through the browser or it comes as a little standalone application when you download Kies.
I'm using MySms and it works great. I can text from my tablet, my PC (browser or app), and everything syncs and backs up to the cloud. You'd need to install their app on your phone so it can intercept your texts and send them to the cloud. The only thing is that MMS is funky, so I still use the AOSP messenger to download and upload them.
Use AirDroid.
Does SMS, app installs, file transfers, and more through Wi-Fi or data connection

[Q] Link/Sync two Note tablets

I use my Note for studies and have gotten rid of all paper and almost all books. I'm thinking of buying a Note 12.2 in addition to my 10.1. I could read something on the one and take notes on the other tablet.
I would like to have both synced up, so it doesn't feel like I have two devices and I have to manually transfer files all the time. All apps and settings, all files should sync preferably via bluetooth or a usb cable. So basically I would like both devices to be the same at any given time. I kinda want to have the feeling of having multiple monitors on a desktop pc. If you could move app windows between two devices that would be the best.
Datasync seems like it could do what I need.
Does anyone have experience using multiple devices? Is it a good idea? That is double the cost when it comes to upgrading, I'm not quite sure yet if it's worth it.

I have had great success with Dropsync.... syncs between my various android devices. Uses regular dropbox account.
EXCEPT that last night my Note 10.1 upgraded to Kitkat and since then it will not establish a sync. It recognizes the device folder, but cannot load folders from dropbox. I'm stumped. Tried a lot of things and finally have an e-mail into the developer.
Bar
Would like to resurrect this thread without starting a new one. Maybe I am not searching for the answer correctly.
I am having an issue getting my S Notes to sync between my Note 3 and the 10.1. I can make edits ok and choose to sync with Evernote but the changes do not replicate on the other device. The problem occurs both ways.
I know I don't use S Note as heavily as some but it is a very handy app. Just want to be able to use both devices with somewhat of a real time sync.
Any ideas out there?
You need dropsync.

USB Mass storage instead of MTP?

Hey guys, is there any way to use the phone as usb mass storage device (like phones were pre kitkat)?
Im on holiday and would like to watch some stuff on hotels tv by connecting phone via usb to the tv. That that ofc doesnt work with MTP.
No. Sadly, like you said, this was only possible up to Jelly Bean. Otherwise I'm pretty sure every single custom ROM would have this feature.
About playing media to the TV - that's usually done with a MHL cable or streamed (directly to the TV if it's "smart" or to a dongle like Chromecast). But you probably don't have necessary hardware with you at the moment ...

Security reasons I think, MTP defines very strict rules about communication between devices, gives a lot less permissions and info to client device (PC). In mass storage mode PC basically takes full control of the phone's storage.

Alright thank you. On the one hand a good thing, on the other hand less possibilities
The real reason is that way the phone can still see and use the filesystem while you use it on the PC.

Screen mirror through usb to laptop

Question is since apparently i can not use sidesync to mirror my screen to my laptop any longer through usb or samsung focus or the windows phone app cause it only allows when connected to the same wifi. Does anyone know of a way to mirror to laptop through my usb. Also the laptop is a samsung 7 spin. This is the kind of crap that really pisses me off about samsung too they always mess with a good thing and it feels like they are scaling back on all the cool stuff that made them great before. Starting to act like freaking iphone.

If you are able too (or know how) you can setup a personal hotspot and connect the phone to your personal hotspot. I used to do this in school with my notebook, was a great way to keep an eye for important phone calls or messages while taking notes on html code or visual basic homework.
Otherwise for USB connections you can use Samsung dex for windows. While not exactly like screen mirroring (there are some very minor trivial differences) you still are able to interact with (and use) your phone and apps.

Samsung DEX IS the mirroring option you are loooking for. Or, I don't understand what YOU mean by mirroring.
What DEX does: after installing DEX for windows, connect your phone to the laptop/pc by means of a GOOD usb cable. In a few seconds you'll see on the screen of your computer part of the apps you have on your phone's Homescreen. Then you can use your laptop keyboard and mouse to work on your phone. It is true, that not all apps are compatible with DEX, part of them may work on full screen only and part of them only on a smaller window.
As I understand, you are looking for full mirroring which DEX doesn't provide. I think, but I'm not sure about this, you need an usb c to hdmi adaptor/cable in order to have your phone mirrored.

There is only one problem with the cable/adaptor: laptops usually do not have an hdmi input port.

Ill look into buying this or similar and trying it out. Just that when im out in the middle of nowhere where my mom lives and of course no wifi and im trying to watch my streaming services from my phone to my moms tv i cant because cant smart view without internet. And so when i use up my hotspot data i used to connect to my laptop with sidesync then my laptop to my moms tv and be able to use my streaming services. Yes dex is o.k. but if i try watching dishanywhere wont work actually most streaming services dont work.

This is indeed the mirroring mode the original poster was looking for. I tried it and it works, but I don't see any advantage on using it. There is a 0.5 sec delay between acting on the Note 10+ and seeing the result on the big screen. Also, I tried switching my laptop's screen to portrait mode and then mirroring, hoping I will be able to get a bigger mirrored image, but I didn't.
What do you use for the screen mirroring? Watching movies?
