LG G7 Thinq G710N (Korean) stay on continue update - LG G7 ThinQ Questions & Answers

Hello guys, So I did not use the phone like from 5 to 6 month due to the LCD burned out and finally, I feel like to fix it.
So I got some update from LG and it seems after the installation of the update done, my phone only showing continue update options. So I already try to click the button and it seems that there is some download happening but there is no notification and any installation happen and the continue update options still there and keep downloading every time I continue the download.
So is there anything I can do to fix it?
Thanks a lot btw, really appreciated the help

I would Restart your phone and connect with pc with lg bridge to update.

I have G710N - and it IS actually downloading an update you just need to wait until is finishes. It's a bit stupid how it shows it, but the download is happening don't worry.

[GUIDE] Bypass low battery warning on LG Mobile Tool

This might not work for you as it did not work for me but it is the only way I have been able to pass the low battery message so it might work for some. I get a connection problem after step 3
Step 1.
Download tool and LG drivers (if you don't have them) from here and here and install them normally
Step 2.
Remove battery and note down your device model and serial number. Boot phone in to download mode by switching phone off or pulling battery if soft bricked, then hold down both of the volume keys and plug in the USB data cable
Step 3.
Run LG Mobile Tool and wait for the software to tell you it recognises the handset as either being the latest software or a new update is available. Unplug the handset but keep it in download mode then in LG Mobile Tools click on options then update recovery. It will now prompt you to enter your handset details, fill out the top 2 boxes and click ok. You will soon be prompted by a message asking you to plug your handset in, plug it in then press retry. Wait EXACTLY 5 seconds (count 1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 Mississippi, 4 Mississippi, 5 Mississippi) then unplug the phone as quickly as possible! Very important, it might take a few tries to get it so just alter the speed at which you are saying Mississippi lol!. If you get the same error message about battery too low then you have failed and need to try it again. Once you have succeeded you can do either of the 2 things below:
3a. Plug phone back in immediately and wait for the file to download and flash (recommended) (I am currently trying this and will report back as soon as I can)
3b. If you are soft bricked and scared you have limited battery then don't plug it back in, pull your battery out and let the program run and it will do everything including download the required software for flashing. When the software is almost completely downloaded, boot back in to download mode and let the downloaded software flash to your phone. (might have an error at software installation this method. I couldn't get it to work I think due to the phone being disconnected for so long.)
Step 4.
MAKE SURE YOU DO A FACTORY RESET STRAIGHT AFTER THE SOFTWARE HAS INSTALLED
Step 5. (Optional)
Download the older version of FreeGee from here if you are still a bit unsure if the latest version will soft brick your handset again.
I have managed to use LG Flash Tools now, even after being affected. I would not advise trying this though, as it was an accident for me. I had the back cover off while flashing a custom rom with CWM. After the rom file was installed, I rebooted my phone from CWM. As the phone was rebooting (was on the rom boot animation) the battery fell out. After I put the battery back in the phone would load to the rom boot animation, but it would freeze on this screen and then reboot and do the same thing over and over (bootloop to animation) - I then tried to factory reset and flash the rom again, with the same thing happening again) - I then went in to restore my phone using a backup through CWM. After the restoration, then phone would still hang at boot animation and then bootloop. I retried restoring and flashing multiple roms and re root the phone with a saved zip file on my phone. None of this was working. I decided to try to use LG Flast Tools again, only this time it actually passed the low battery warning. The funny thing is, I have tried thousands of times even at 100% battery level and lower (when there was nothing wrong with my phone at all) and it has never worked. This time it did (even though I had 66% battery) and still works now, as I just tried it again.
I've tried this method but unfortunately, the update stoped..
i passed through step 3a but when installing the software, around 80%, the lg mobile support tool suddenly disappear.
i'm trying it again for the second time, i'll update after my attempt.
thanks.

I might give that a shot.
HONESTLY WHY! I am starting to get so frustrated that nobody can figure this out! Surely there is somebody out there that can someone reverse the damage that FreeGee caused by way of ADB commands? I just wish I knew what the hell I was looking for
OK guys.. After exhausting all known tricks but failure I just walked into LG service centre andgot stock ROM installed. It took just ten minute for them to install.
I just though given an opportunity, I will steal their laptop n take it home..hahhha..
Anyway as I of now I am jut **** scared to o anything with the phone. I just rooted it and playing around with DPI settings using closed framework.

What exactly did they do? Did you see any of the software? It's not that easy for me as this phone was never released in my country.

I deal with this situation 3 time...last time little scary with only boot to cwm ( fix with flash twrp hack by madmack and install rom )...never get same sollution to by pass low bat warning...
I think we just have to uninstall and reinstall all LG driver..restart..and keep trying with 100% batt..
May be LG decide flash or not when we connect via Lg mobile tool via internet..
Because once i have succed flash with only 20 % battery...last time i get low batt warning with 60% batt...
Once you get low batt warning it keep rejecting flash even with 100% battery..
Lol never give up trying is best sollution

sorry for my noob question.
you just walked into LG service centre? they didn't question you about how your phone got into that situation?
i'm afraid that lg might ignore my phone because i rooted and attempt to disable the scurity through freegee..
They have asked me. I just said I was trying to do factory reset n it got struck. But I am not sure if he completely beloved me. It all boils down to how friendly that guy in the counter is. After all ,for them, its just a 10 main job. No parts or labour involved. Just pushing some files.
So just go ahead n try. My phone is also rooted n flashed freegee. But I got the service.

Hi guys,
I'm facing the same problem here but with a G Pad. Can't pget past the low battery error.
I figured a way to make the mobile tool download the files but when it comes to flashing it I get the same error again.
How did you flash the file after downloading it?
Any help will be really appreciated.

Bam ... i got it!
For all with the low battery error, here is my solution (on Win8 machine):
1. Flashed E988 V5 rom with cwm
I think its editional, because i got low battery error error after i tried to flashed stock rom.
2. Flashed stock at&t rom V10g
3. Flashed E980H Panama ROM V10a
And it works, i dont get low battery error, even with ~65% battery... Maybe a try for all with same problem? :fingers-crossed:

[Q] LG G3 D852 FlashTool Says Wrong Model

So Long Story,
Monday I Changed Out Battery Go To Restart Phone, Phone Wont Boot Stuck On LG Screens And Constantly Retrying. Tuesday Night I ReInstall Factory Firmware For G3 D852 - With Success - Phone Working. Wednesday I Decide To Root & Install TWRP - With Success - Phone Working No Issues. Today This Is Where Sh*t Hits The Fan! I Get Crazy & Attempt To Install ChupaChups Lollipop Rom With TWRP - Seemingly Successful Install But After Reboot Wont Boot Stuck In Fast Boot. So I Attempt To Resolve This Following Other Forum Posts Using FastBootOV - WITHOUT Success - Now When Attempting To Boot Phone LG Screen Comes Up Top Left Corner Says "ERROR Boot Certification Verify" Below That Says "590 Secure Booting ERROR!" Then Black Screen With Flashing Red & Blue LED. I Attempted To ReInstall Factory Firmware With LG Flashtool Attempt Fails Stating Wrong Model Number - Phone States On Screen Near Bottom Now D855 Ver5.0 Below That D85520A. What Do I Do Now? How To Get Back To D852? Do I Try To Install D855 Firmware? HELP Im Lost & Frustrated :crying:
Thanks

[Q] Help! 3 hours, accidentally soft bricked my G4!

I'm on T-Mobile, and I upgraded from a G3 to a G4. Ordered the G4 from T-Mobile yesterday, got it a few hours ago. Earlier today, I went through the restore process for the G3 using the LG Flash Tool (essentially following these steps here). That all went fine. Shortly after that, without thinking, and without closing the LG Flash Tool, I plugged my G4 into my computer to charge it. I got confused for a moment when I noticed it restarting. The Flash Tool had picked it up, and was setting up to push the G3 firmware to it. I panicked, and unplugged the phone from the computer, right as the phone went to the "Firmware Update" screen. Now, whenever I turn it on, it just goes straight to "Firmware Update". Won't enter recovery mode, etc, etc... No matter what, just "Firmware Update".
Any help?

You done goofed OP. i dont think g3 method works on G4 from what ive heard. can you try to hard reset the phone? or if not connect to computer and use the terminal or ADB(i think its called) to restart to boot to the recovery menu

Well, it has the same download mode as the G3 (which is unfortunately the only thing it will boot into), so technically I should be able to flash the firmware the same way, only problem with that is, because it's so new, the .dll and .tot files aren't available anywhere.
I tried a hard reset from the phone, didn't work. I couldn't get ADB to pick up the device (since it only boots into download mode), so I couldn't reboot into recovery via ADB
Took it into a T-Mobile store, they couldn't do anything, as expected. Notated my account, and said to call. New phone was ordered and being sent out to me, should have it Monday

sorry theres no fix to this right now. but i think its a little too early to mess with the G4
You have to restore you LG G4 to stock ROM.As your device is bricked you can't Flash via recovery.Download & Install LG Flash tool on your PC.Then download LG Stock Firmware according to your device model number. Then Flash via LG Flash tool.Below i share some helpful links

Actually there was no need to go to the store and get a new phone
You can easily flash G4 KDZs via LGUP, if you're stuck in download mode. Easiest game of your life. Sorry, that you had a lot of trouble, but keep in mind, that there's a way to get out of bootloops and such 99% of the time (well in fact 100% if it's a software problem). For future problems just check this thread. Easy to use, easy to get out of bootloops. Cheers

Oh sorry! I'm a bit late then  Didn't see the date.

LG G3 S D722 is hard bricked and I really need help.

My G3 is stuck on the booting screen and nothing works. I can't go to recovery menu. But I can hear my notifications, no calls though.
I tried to root my G3 using kingroot then replacing it with SuperSU. I restarted the phone after just to see if it's ok then this happened. It wouldn't start up. It just shows the "LG: life's good" thing and doesn't do anything else. I can't even go to recovery or download menu.
Now soon I am going to send it for repair. There is important stuff in my phone though such as pictures, text messages, my gmail and other accounts.
Will they be able to see it if they manage to repair my phone? a relative told me that I erased my android operating system..
Hopefully someone will help me here.
I'm no expert regarding phones with LG ROMs, but you might have had a locked bootloader. If i remember correctly, my old G2 needed its bootloader unlocked before doing any fancy stuff. I now have a G3 and i'm terrified to do anything to it. (After some nasty Soft & Hard bricks on my G2)
Can you explain better what you mean by "replacing Kingroot with SuperSU". Did you have both installed at the same time or what? Some people had problems with Kingroot that it would lose root after you reboot it (G3)
You say you can hear notifications, how can you hear them if you're not booting the OS? You said it's stuck at LG logo.

Ok I managed to get to the factory reset screen by holding the power and volume down button. I confirmed it, it said "Factory reset processing" then "erasing.." with the android logo for like 2 seconds, then it disappears and goes back to the boot loop.

LG G8s Screen After Complete Factory restore, Screen Lost sync, then went Black

Hello.
I have an LG G8s that was functioning completelly well.
I did a full factory reset from the system settings (complete format).
The phone showed the typical message 'the phone will reboot twice', I left it over the table then pushed the button that says 'restore'.
It made the first erasing, then reboot but in the middle of that first boot the image of the LG logo went corrupted. Then it was corrupted all the time.
It seemed as if it had lost the screen syncing but still visible enough and the touch screen functioning completely ok.
I repeated the factory reset again, nothing changed, then I didn't try anything else.
Powered off, and on some time, all the same... 3 times powered off and on and then the screen went finally completely black.
Trying again off and on some times, all black.
For some reason during one boot the LG logo appeared perfectly well for 1 second and then again black...
"All Black" is now the situation...
Any ideas about how to fix it?
Please help!
Thank you in advance!

Let me guess,Android 12 was installed?I have seen reports where the A12 update is having problems with screen flicker,non-responsive touch screens and apps crashing!Go here, and grab the firmware of your model.Do a refurbish with LGUP.I would roll it back to the last A11 firmware and see what it does.I think you'll be fine on A11.I just updated my G8x this morning to A12,and I was watching it to see what it does myself.

Hmm... Interesting. News to me, but good to know. I guess I got lucky. I flashed my G8 (originally from US Cellular) with 3 different variants of A12 (UCL, Open CA, Open US), and didn't get any problems.

Yes,I was reading through Reddit about it the other day.Could be certain variants, which they didn't state which ones they was using. They did say it was all happening since the A12 update was pushed to their devices. On the other hand, could be a corrupt download which is odd because any update is verified before it ask to restart.

Hello.
Thank you so much for the answers, the info and the interest.
I have tried changing the ROM, my phone is detected as com port 5 but unfortunately LGUP doesn't detect it.
Also I have tried LG FANs firmware but when I push download the link is broken...
Any idea of what to do in order for LGUP to detect it?
Thank you so much in advance!
