Hello,
i'm stuck in a particular situation: i can use fastboot and i can flash recoveries but none of them can succesfully flash a rom. i want to go back to the stock Realme UI, my device is RMX1993.
i tried to follow the guide (https://forum.xda-developers.com/realme-x2/how-to/to-stock-rom-howto-t4014773) but the last recovery (rmx1993-sde20-stock_recovery-c05) can't flash neither RMX1993EX_11_OTA_1040_all_tSZ3Sf5A77NS nor RMX1993EX_11_OTA_1050_all_loALrMDyMrbs.
tried to flash trough orangefox or the last twrp that support ozip decription but the result is a "succesful flash" but a phone that does not go over the boot screen and it reboot.
i succesfully installed color os trough the proper old stock recovery and it said the installation was succesfull, but the problem was the same.
someone know where could be the problem?
You need to successfully flash Android 10 (Realme UI 1.0) before you can flash custom Android 10 roms.
Have you tried this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/realme-x2/help/how-to-flash-q-firmware-based-roms-t4115987
As for why your colorOS back up is not working i'm not quite sure...have you wiped your cache before booting to the color os backup?

Hello,
it looks like that I'm unable to install a custom rom on my GX8 (see details out device at the end of the post).
FRP disabled, bootloader unlocked (this is at least what the fastboot/bootloader screen is saying)
I'm able to flash twrp-3.1.1-0-rio.img to recovery
I can use twrp on recovery and it seems to be fully functional
When I use twrp in 'read-only' mode, I'm able to reboot the system (stock firmware)
But when I use twrp in modifing mode, booting the system (stock firmware) is no longer possible (even if I only wipe cache and/or dalvik). Restarting the device will always end in twrp/recovery.
Backup is possible. Restore backup succeeds, but booting the system (stock firmware) is not possible. Restarting the device will always end in twrp/recovery.
Nevertheless trying to install a custom rom from zip in twrp. This leads to the following error message:
"E3004: This package is for device: RIO-L01, hwRIO-L01, RIO-L02, hwRIO-L02, RIO-L03, hwRIO-L03, RIO-AL00, hwRiO-AL00, RIO-CL00, hwRIO-CL00, RIO-TL00, hwRIO-TL00; this device is rio.
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7"
Well, patch the custom rom in lines of http://www.lineageosdownloads.com/fix-error-7-lineage-os/, i.e. modifing the 'updater-script' in the zip. Now installing the custom rom zip in twrp is possible. Still unable to reboot system.
Installing gapps and/or chainfire supersu does not improve the situation.
Giving up back to stock rom in lines of https://forum.xda-developers.com/gx...tall-stock-rom-g8-t3370013/page2#post73008458 . This has (so far) worked for me to get back a working mobile phone.
Any suggestions, anyone?
Kind regards,
aanno

I've encountered the same exact problem when I flashed using twrp-3.1.1-0-rio.img. Had to force update to stock rom after it got stuck on bootloop.
Solved it when using the older TWRP 3.0.2-0 which you can get here:

Hope it might help you too.
Hello all If any one can help me ,
I was rooted running rooted stock oxygen os before on my Oneplus 5T
after flashing Oxygen OS 5.1.4 Full Zip my phone is not rooting it gets in initial oneplus logo and freeze there without loading OS
Phone is working fine after Flashing Oxygen OS 5.1.4 Full Zip without any issue its not booting after flashing either SuperSu or Magisk
Steps which I follow are
1 Flash custom recovery I have tried both Codeworkx TWRP | Blu_Spark
2 after flashing recovery boot in to recovery flash Supersu or magisk
3 reboot
when I reboot if i Flash supersu it stuck on oneplus logo, If i flash magisk it reboot itself to fastboot so Os is not loading at all.
I have to flash full Zip again every time to get it working but then I dont have root access.
I have tried at least 10 times with different even old versions of magisk and supersu with out any success.
Is there any particular recovery or different version of magisk or superuse I need to flash?
your help will be really appreciated.
Try a different approach. Instead of installing recovery, just get phone rooted first. There is a way where you can boot into twrp (without installing it), and then flash magisk/supersu zip. If your phone is rooted, then you can install twrp later (or keep oem recovery)
This is how you boot into twrp (or any recovery): fastboot boot recovery recovery.img
Let me know how it goes.
As you said boot to recovery without installing it.
One problem currently I am installing recovery and flashing root. After that phone is not booting up in to OS it stuck on oneplus logo. Then I have to force off phone boot in to recovery and flash full os zip to get it working. I can boot in to TWRP because my os didn't load. Now if I use your method and flash root file and if phone won't boot to os that means I won't be able to boot in to TWRP again to flash full os zip to get phone working atleast without root. Any idea?
Huh, frankly I have no idea why you are facing this menace. I can just give two suggestions.
1. Try with older, more stable versions of TWRP and Magisk
2. Get yourself a custom ROM, most ROM's will work flawlessly after flashing root files
Hope for the best!
I usually switch from OpenBeta to LOS and back again. Here's how I switch back to OpenBeta (steps should work for official OOS):
1) Back everything on internal storage up. This one's important
2) Boot into official OOS recovery
3) Wipe EVERYTHING (this is why you need to follow Step 1)
4) Sideload the version of OOS you want. The instructions will be right there on the recovery screen
5) Boot into Fastboot and flash TWRP
6) Flash Magisk and (optional) Xposed
I was trying to install custom rom (evolution X 4.6) on my redmi note 8 pro and it went a little bad
I started off normal by unlocking the bootloader and flashing TWRP then I closed avb 2.0 and installed root and everything was fine and my phone was booting normally so then I went TWRP and wiped the default wipe then i clicked install and flashed the rom and so then i clicked reboot and i was greeted with a bootloop and i don't know what to do i tried flashing global MIUI 12 but when it tries to boot it ends up opening TWRP i also made the big mistake of not backing up my device before attempting to flash custom rom someone please help I'm trying to rollback to the factory firmware but i don't know how
i just found out you had to be android 9 to flash custom roms
now I can't even enter twrp and I tried reflashing it and I still can't enter it the only thing I can do rn is enter fastboot
NVM i fixed it using mitoolv2 www .xiaomitool.com/V2/
So I tried to clean flash and install RR on my RealMe X.Everything went fine aprt from the fact that phone isn't booing into the new rom.It just boots back to the recovery.
I tried flashing vbmeta but its the same.Anybody knows what is going on?
thanks in advance
Edit - Changed the recovery from 3.4.0.0 to 3.3.1.1 and the problem is gone
And formatted data after installing the rom
Hi.
I dont know where to start.
My redmi 5a had the last original software miui 11 based (android 8.1). Then I successfully unlocked the bootloader some days ago and somehow managed to install nitrogenOS (android 11 based).
Then I tried to flash another custom rom and everything went bad. I cant boot into any os anymore. I get stuck at the boot screen with the android logo and after some time it starts again and again...
I already tried to install a custom oreo recover firmware, which works, so I could start twrp again. But then every os I tried to install does not work. Fastboot works.
I am very confused now and dont know what to do next
Since you have bootloader already unlocked you can use Mi Flash (Xiaomi's own flash tool) to flash a stock ROM back to you device. This usually help, but of course, it will make you lose the custom ROM installed and the recovery.
Also, pay attention while flashing with this tool. There is an option at the bottom of the program that locks the bootloader again. If you don't want that you have to change this options every time you close the program.
OK, I started XiaomiTool V2 (on linux) and choose the option, that my device is bricked. I then have to choose my model (Redmi 5a riva) and start in fastboot. Now the tool starts to download and install the following rom to recover the smartphone:
riva_global_images_V11.0.2.0.OCKMIXM_20191106.0000.00_8.1_global_605da3d46d.tgz
But it does not work. The smartphone starts and I can see the start screen (powered by android). After some seconds there is a white screen with the words: just a sec. Then the smartphone starts again and it repeats again and again...
Nobody an idea?

This has happened to me before. From the name of the image that XiaomiTool download and installed I can assume it is an more recent ROM. (since it has 2019 and 8.1 Global in it)
Do not let XiaomiTool download and install a ROM. Download a older Stock ROM yourself and make XiaomiTool install the ROM that you have download.
As I said previously. Try to download the original Stock ROM that came with your phone when you bought. BEFORE ANY official updates from Xiaomi. This have worked for me.
Hi.
Thanks It works now. I have installed the stock rom.
Is there a guide to get from stock rom (nougat) to custom rom?

So firstly you need a recovery image (TWRP, PBRP, OF, Batik Recovery) to replace MIUI Recovery. flash it via fastboot with adb (you can do it right?).
After that reboot and push the button to recovery and remember make backup firstly or you can ignore it and yeah do it own your risk.
wipe or advanced wipe Cache, Data, System, Dalvik, Vendor.
and then install the CUSROM, and GApps.
and yeah only that to install CUSROM i know
