Hey folks,
I am running a custom android 9 ROM (Havoc OS 2.9) on my Umidigi One Max smartphone. As of about a week ago, Android Auto stopped working. Whenever I connect my phone, I get the error "smartphone connection error". I've tried brand new cables I bought from Amazon (and two other cables), cleared cache on both AA and Google maps, tried a fresh install of OS + Apps, but nothing I do fixes the issue. I've also tried fresh installs of RR Rom, OmniRom, and havoc. All the same outcome.
If I restore my backup (TWRP) of my stock ROM (unfortunantly, Android 8.1), Android Auto works just fine. Honestly, I cannot stand the stock ROM, which is why I'd like to restore my AOSP based ROM with working Android Auto.
Has anyone else with a custom ROM or AOSP based ROM had a simular issue? If so, I'm wondering if it was a recent Android Auto update that caused this mess.

Hello everyone, about a month ago I tried flashing a custom ROM (specifically, Pixel Experience by Fedray) on my Moto G5.
After unlocking bootloader and installing TWRP recovery, I managed to succesfully install the new Oreo ROM.
Except for known bugs, everything seemed to be working properly.
The only thing that worked poorly was GPS, that took too long to fix when I was driving and didn't fix at all when walking.
I was thinking it was a ROM-related issue, but today I tried three different ROMs (another Oreo, Lineage OS 14.1, Stock unbloated), but GPS is not working anymore.
I'm using GPS Status & Toolbox app.
Does anybody experience the same issue or have any solution?
Thanks
Did you find a solution?
Hi!
Recently I tried installing some custom gsi's on my asus zenfone 5 2018. Most of the android 9.0 ones were not booting (like havoc os) but older ones were working good beside one big issue. After I installed gapps it said that my phone wont be play protected or something like that, i clicked ok and it was spinning for like 5 minutes and then freeze and I could not do anything. Thats the bug that I have with every custom gsi.
Hi
I bought this phone few months ago. It comes with Android 9 whereas officially XT1789-03 only has Android 8. I installed LineageOS 17.1. It was working great but from last 2 weeks the phone started randomly rebooting. So today I tried to update it using the recovery (Dirty Flash). After that phone was rebooting again and again at Lineage logo. So I factory reset and clean flash the lineageos 17.1 but it is not working. Used different techniques but not working (Used TWRP also). Now I want to go back to stock firmware or to stock Android 9. But I have read here that I will loose my imei and baseband. So what is the proper way to flash stock firmware or stock Android 9 (Preferably Andriod 9)?
Please help me.
Hi. I'm trying to change the OS on my device. I've been running on MIUI 12 beta for a year now, and this phone is not getting anything new from the developers, so I wanted to change.
I downloaded Lineage OS 18 with android 11 and NikGapps, wiped the phone, installed the zips and phone reboots into TWRP.
I've tried installing by adb sideload, result is the same. I've tried Lineage 17, AOSP, Bliss OS, nothing works.
Installed the MIUI back and it works normally.
I've tried again with every rom and still nothing works.
Now I've installed Havoc OS with Gapps included into one ROM and it works, for now. But I kinda still want to install Lineage OS. Why those ROMs are not working?
Hello XDA people. I'm an enthusiast of flashing and testing android ROMs, but I am kinda rookie using this device.
The problem in question is that I cannot successfully flash any Android 10 and later ROMs on my device, I always face several problems after flashing and booting any ROM, such as the wifi's not working (got the exclamation mark on the icon), audio problems, mobile data increiblely slow, bluetooth and GPS issues, etc etc. I tried to flash official and supported ROMs like lineageos, evolutionx, pyxisos, havoc as well as unofficial roms, but I always get the same problems (the wifi issue is the problem that I want to fix the most)
I tried flashing the original MIUI firmware through recovery and bootloader method, I dirty/clean flashed the roms after and nothing, I also used factory reset, used OrangeFox, TWRP (official and unofficial versions) and I still have the same result. I tried every method I know and it seems I won't have the problem fixed. I don't know if it's that the firmware is not properly flashed, or if I deleted a partition. What can I do?
The device only works using the MIUI original firmare but I don't like it because of the bloatware and the waste of resources. I currently use MMX rom (a modified MIUI rom) in my device right now. It works well but It's currently outdated. I just want to use an AOSP based ROM and having my device updated. Please HELP ME!
