how much i can downgrade from samsung site firmware - Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 Questions & Answers

from https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-tab-s4/firmware/SM-T835/BGL/
my firm is tha latest T835XXU4BTB2 im asking how much i can go down with odin instal only tnx

The 5th number back from the right is the bootloader version. You should be able to flash any firmware with that bootloader version, you can't use lower and if you go higher you are stuck on the new firmware as you will softbrick your device if the bootloader version is lower than the current one you have.
Your bootloader version is 4. Don't try to flash anything with a lower number than that...

So it isn't possible to go from Android 10 back to Android 9?

It is so long as the bootloader numbers match...

How to downgrade to kitkat or lollipop from any higher android operating system

Hi Guys,
I am back with another thread for people who want to downgrade their Android ROM for different reasons from any higher android version, like some of you getting problem with new O.S, some of you might not like the new O.S and as in my case my new o.s marshmallow got crashed/currupted.
As in my case when my new updated O.S 6.0 Marshmallow got crashed, then no way was left to me but to reinstall 6.0 M on my phone, but as stock ROM of marshmalow for HTC Desire 816 dual sim A5_dwg indian version was not available on any portal online, so i need to rollback to any lower version android like kitkat or lollipop.
As you guys must know that if your phone is running on higher android O.S then it doesn't matter whether its corrupted or showing errors, you can't rollback/downgrade to any lower version android.
For finding way to get out of this problem, i am sharing some steps which i followed to rollback my phone to lower android version.
Step 1: First of all please make ready your computer by installing ADB drivers, fastboot utility and drivers for your phone.
Step 2: As i have already made clear that you can't roll back to lower android version from higher one so for doing that you need to unlock your phone's bootloader , ROOT your phone by following this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2775801 and install any custom recovery available like CWM or TWRP, i personally prefer TWRP.
IMPORTANT Note: For users who have rooted and un-rooted their phones in past, updated stock ROM to any new stock version and already having Unlock_code.bin file on their e-mail, don't try to use that file now again for unlocking your phones bootloader as it will not work, you need regenerate that unlock_code.bin file from HTC website because with updated stock ROM, code for unlocking bootloader also changes.
Step 3: Once you are done with Rooting and installing custom recovery and Super user app. now it's time to install any custom ROM like cynogenmod or any other custom rom available for you phone. For downloading and installing CM 13 follow links given https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=a5dwg
https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_a5dwg
Step 4: Once you are done with installing custom ROM CM 13 on your phone now you can start procedure to Un-Root your phone, install stock recovery and flash any lower android version stock ROM on your phone.
for unrooting and rolling back to stock rom you can follow my thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-816/help/how-to-unroot-roll-to-stock-htc-desire-t3487894
and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-816/help/guide-how-to-flash-stock-recovery-ruu-t3308502
Wollah....... you are now ready with lower android version ROM on your phone and now you can update your phone O.S with OTA updates released by your phones manufacturer.

I am not an expert, but it sounds like you are trying to flash a bootloader that is an older version than the version 4 on your phone. I don't think you can downgrade the BL version. The fifth character from the end is the BL version. (e.g. G955USQU4CRE1) Also, you may need a newer version of ODIN.

Yes. There are a lot of software versions available. If you use Updato you can search by model number and service provider (listed as region on Updato. I was able to find one with a version 4 bootloader. Similar to your version, but CRE9 at the end. It is an oreo version. Your phone is a model SM-G-955U when you search there. It might take a long time to download. I have sometimes had luck speeding things up by trying to restart the download. Sometimes it just takes a long time. Be careful when you are flashing if you have any desire to go back to a previous version. I am not sure of the limitations.
Another thing you could try that might be easier for you is to go to the JRKruse ROM thread here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s8+/development/rom-t3771206 and use the instructions he has there to install the ROM. There is another rooted ROM that he has that may also work for you. He has instructions on what to do.
Hello, my galaxy s8 is stuck in rpmb provisioned and its boot looping, I can get to download mode, it doesn't say things such as fuse blown etc. How can I get out of the boot loop? Help is appreciated.
Did you find a fix? Im having a very similar problem. I don't see any stock roms with a v4 bootloader. The most recent seems to be a v3.
Fixed it the way Smithfolk said. I was using the combination rom FA70_G955USQU4ARE1 with a V4 bootloader. I used odin v3.13.1 and flashed verizion G955USQU4CRE9 from Sammobile including the bootloader and it fixed my phone.

About custom ROM and ARB

This might be a dumb question but I couldn't quite find an answer, I used my max 3 stock and updated to MIUI11 11.0.7 and now wanted to flash the thing, but there is the anti rollback thing. However ARB says its about ROM and I am required to flash to a lower firmware which seems out of reach when checking ARB compatible version, though thats for ROM and not firmware. In short, I just wanna get stock android running on this phone and I am conflicted, can I just flash to 6.7.27 or whatever since its firmware and not ROM or are those the same thing? And do I need to change my kernel as TWRP website says? I'm just really confused and I can't financially afford bricking my phone, I'll appreciate any input.
I wish I could help you but I don't understand this ARB myself... I just make sure to only update and never go back to an older version, but when the day for a new rom comes I would like to know what to watch out for too

Can I use ODIN to revert back from Android 11 to Android 10?

can i flash android 10 stock rom over updated android 11 on my factory unlocked S20 (U.S. variant)? i've never used ODIN before so i'm not sure if that's possible.
why i need to do that? because i'm gonna be sending my S20 to Samsung for warranty work and they automatically update to the latest updates and i don't want android 11 on my phone.

Yes if you have same bootloader version but the bootloader version should have probably updated. In case of bootloader version updated and you want to downgrade to a lower bootloader version, you will end up with a brick. Long story short, send me your full changelog and I will see if you can downgrade.

thanks for the reply. basically i have to send my phone to samsung first, but i would like to make a backup of my ROM prior to sending it out. i currently have Android 10. i'm pretty confident samsung will update my phone as they always put latest updates on it when doing warranty work. i'm going to try to tell them not to, but i'm not relying on them actually complying with my request. so this is more of a "just in case" scenario, but i want to know if this is definitely doable before i send the phone to them.

Question Downgrade to Android 11 on SM-F926U1?

I currently have an Unlocked Z Fold3 purchased directly through the Samsung US site.
Model: SM-F926U1
Baseband version: F926U1UEU1CVC5
I would like to downgrade to Android 11 to see if it resolves the no service issues with T Mobile the update caused. Does anyone know if this is possible?
Yes. Download android 11 package and use Odin

I thought I needed an unlocked bootloader for this? If its that easy is there a way to prevent getting the update to 12?
No, Odin flashes the Android firmware.
Unlocking the bootloader gives the ability to install TWRP, custom ROMs, and delve into the system folder easily. Odin flashes firmware. However, once you update a bootloader, you cannot roll that back...if I remember correctly.
was the bootloader updated in the Android 12 update? if it was that means flashing Android 12 really wouldn't change anything or may not even be possible?
