Home Button not working after full wipe - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

I've been running LeeDroid 5.2.1 for years, S-OFF and Bootloader unlocked. I did a full wipe and decided to try LineageOS, got stuck at the bootup logo. So I gave up and went with the latest LeeDroid 5.3.3. Upon installation it actually boots but the home button doesn't work. I've reinstalled numerous times. I tried to update the firmware (I think it was updated already). I tried flashing the latest from https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/8-0-htc-10-oreo-firmware-t3756126 and flashing the andybones firmware from here (I didn't just do the finger print modules): https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/help/htc-10-leedroid-homebutton-t3533913. I also tried going into extreme power saver mode https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/help/home-button-issues-t3386104 I also tried force stopping the finger print app https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/help/home-button-issues-t3386104
Still no luck. I know the home button worked just before I went down this road so I don't think it's a hardware issue.
I've even tried to go back to my NAND backup of LeeDroid 5.2.1, gets stuck on boot like LineageOS.
Any thoughts on how to get my home button working on a fresh install of LeeDroid 5.3.3?
THANKS!

Please, need help with fixing a phone stuck at G1 boot screen

Hey everyone,
I'm very new to all this and am afraid I may be in over my head. I got a little antsy waiting for cupcake so I installed JesusFreak's build way back when and it worked perfectly. Now I'm interested in Sense UI and was trying to install a build of that but everything went wrong when the phone rebooted after the SPL installation.
I can still hold Home + Power to access that menu or Camera + Power to access fastboot, but one problem is I don't have a backup. JesusFreak removed the backup utility in the build I was using. I figured there was no point in changing builds to create a backup since I'd lose all my information anyway.
I tried to wipe the phone and install Cyanogen's "pimped out recovery image with new features", but after that it still freezes at the G1 logo. All I can do to break the freeze is remove the battery.
This is an early model phone. It was shipped and at my doorstep on launch day.
Can anyone out there help me out here and get my phone back to a working state?
Thanks
Just wanted to say I decided not to install this Hero Rom, and went with Cyanogen instead. I just flashed the rom in recovery mode and it's working alright now.

Stuck on white boot screen

Been installing custom roms for a while now.
Whenever i try to install a new rom ( tried several ones, next sense, leedroid , defrost) i get stuck on the first white boot screen with the green htc screen.
Iv used full wipe, cache, wiped sd partition, formatted sd card, different sd card.
I can install an older version of next sense rom, but that is about all i can do.
im on bootloader v0.8, used the latest version of clockwork mod ( have tried with several versions) iv tried booting with the sd card out.
iv tried so many different times with different variations but none have been successful other than the nextsense v4.0 that i can boot to, or an nandroid back up of nextsense v4.0.
Any help?
I had the same this morning after fixing a recovery boot problem (re-pushing the reboot file to the system/bin/ directory on the device).
I resolved the hanging white screen problem by rebooting (via volume down + power button) into recovery with Clockwork Mod (v2.5.0.7 for Desire) and manually reflashed (N.B. without wipe!) the already installed ROM (I had upgraded to Nextsense 6.0 earlier that morning without difficulty, so reflashed that version).
Maybe this helps, but sounds like you may have already passed this station...
Good luck!
After that my Desire booted up normally.
Edit: Bootloader is v0.75
Can you get any response from running
#adb logcat
??
If it sits there saying "waiting for decice" for ages then yeah, something isn't right (possibly a bad flash of boot parition), but if you get anything, even a bootloop of sorts, the output may help narrow down whats going on!
I'm stuck here too. After I flash a custom ROM it just sits there after booting for the first time. I've tried so many ROMs, but I haven't even gotten to see a single one, yet!

[Q] My EVO works fine...except I cannot get into Recovery to backup my ROM! Help!

I have a rooted (Supersonic EVT2-2 SHIP S-OFF; HBOOT-0.93.0000) EVO that I'm running Warm 2.2 RLS 4 on. I have it set up the way that I wanted and it is running perfect (enough for me).
Yesterday, I caught a glimpse of the MIUI ROM that has an iPhone theme so I wanted to try it out. So, I used Titanium to back up my apps and data to my SD card (8GB with 3GB open). Then, I went to ROM Manager to back up my ROM. I saw that there was an update for the ClockworkMod Recovery so flashed it up to 3.0.0.5. Then I went to Backup Current ROM, kept the suggested name, and hit OK. After a few seconds, the Splash Screen (white HTC EVO 4G) briefly shows, the phone buzzes and then I'm on the initial Bootloader menu screen (with the three Androids at the bottom).
I highlight Bootloader, then I hit the Power button to go to the next set of menus, and the phone does it's checks. After the checks, I push the Volume Down button to go to Recovery, then hit the Power button. The splash screen shows again, the phone buzzes, and I'm back at the initial Bootloader screen.
Whether I use the Quick Boot app, the ROM Manager app, or the Power and Volume Down method, I cannot get past the Bootloader screen to get into Recovery. All I get is Splash, buzz, then the initial Bootloader. Warm 2.2 RLS4 is a nice stable ROM, but I am starting to feel limited, which is why I rooted the phone a few months ago.
Could someone PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZSSSSSSEEEEE help me with this? I have been reading forums and Googling this issue for hours and I can't find an answer. I am far from a comp engineer, but I can follow instructions pretty well.
Thanks a million!
Try using ROM Manager to reflash your recovery, that should fix it for you.
Fourth times the charm! WHEEWWW!!!
It's seems to be working now and I'm backing up my ROM as I type. I went into ROM Manager and flashed it again and this time I went into Recovery straight from ROM Manager (I had did it indirectly via the ROM backup before) and I saw a orange and black menu, instead of the green and black. COOOLLLL!!!!
I tried to go into recovery from the Quick Boot app and that works too, NIICCEE!!!
I guess after you flash the ClockworkMod Recovery, you have to "initialize" it by going to it directly from ROM Manager, or else any other method you try won't work? I'm not sure but it seems like it.
A good lesson, glad I can fully enjoy the EVO again.
Cheers!
Glad you got it figured out

[Q] HTC Desire HD boots but black screen afterwards

So I have a rooted HTC desire HD with Jellytime on it. All was working great till recently when it would shut down by itself. Today after I wanted to test a new boot screen from Rom toolkit I restarted it and while the boot screen worked great after it finished I see a black screen (backlit so I know its on). I tried going to the bootloader but after I try to go to wipe cache for example it restarts by itself and it gets stuck after the boot screen... Any ideas?
ok an update seems that if I go to the recovery via down button and power it lets me do actions. All this time I went to recovery mode when phone was shut down and plugged into a power source. I did a wipe cache and now it says android is upgrading and now it finished saying starting apps. Hope it didnt get stuck there because it keeps doin the cycle animation but doesn't do anything else.. I ll leave it be for a bit like this... :/ Had to restart it by removing the battery after 20 minutes... same problem as before still...
another update... just before it goes to a black screen when the boot screen finishes an orange light appears just briefly (where the green light appears when it charges)
Wipe everything (system data cache) and install a stock-ish ROM. What happens?

Click to collapse
I flashed the rom again and wiped data and all seem to be ok now. I ll update this because I saw many people have similar problems... thanks in advance for any help!
Have the same problem.
I bought this with the problem that it keeps rebooting all the time.
I unlock the bootloader with htcdev, root with Easy Ace Tool, flashed the new cyanogenmod 11,
but did the same .
At least 3-4 rebooting before open normally.
I said that it must be ROM issue and flashed the KK-LegacyCarbon-4.4.
Did the things should be...flash the ROM and then the boo.img separately.
Now i have black screen and the only screen i am able to get is bootloader and the recovery 4EXT.
I reflased cyanogenmod back but nothing happened, any thoughts???

My Mi Max 3 refuses to boot

It doesn't boot for more than 1 second.
Something like this has happened a couple times - it randomly rebooted and bootlooped forever. I fixed it before by flashing the ROM again.
As soon as the boot animation comes up, it freezes and reboots. I still have access to the recovery, if I vol up on boot.
Things I have tried:
Reflashed the rom
Flashed a new rom
Flashed rom with no root/gapps
Flashed a new recovery
Cleaned all the partitions
Fixed all the partitions
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
I think maybe it's the power button pressed ever.
Does TWRP screen lock or do you have any strange behavior?
Are you wearing any cover? If so, try removing.
If you flashed clean from other roms, maybe do a factory install by Xiaomi Tools, in the latter case.
Stay tuned with the rom version for the reason of ARB.
Good lucky.
