Fire TV Box Gen 1 (Bueller) Rebooting Isssue - Fire TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I am having issues with my FireTV Box Gen 1 (Bueller). The issue is when i turn off the TV and the box basically after 30 minutes or so, reboots and goes to recovery and get stuck there. I have to reset it by pulling power to bring it to the OS. When rebooted, it will work fine, but when i turn off the TV, it does same thing.
FireTV Gen 1 is Rooted and using rbox’s latest and last update. Bootloader is fully unlocked and TWRP is installed.
I have formatted and installed the OS and same issue.
Is there a way to fix this? if yes, please advise
If no to above, can i revert back to Stock Recovery? if yes, how?
I tried searching form, i can only find unroot option if you have clockwork recovery

If you mean the bootmenu cold-boots into twrp instead fireOS, try wiping cache...

i figured it out. there was an update pending latest update. somehow rbox modded firmware downloaded that and it was scheduling to install. i cleared the cache and disabled ota and took care of it.

[Q] Kindle keeps rebooting

Hi,
I have a big problem. I have a kindle Fire and I had TWRP installed. I installed a stock rom and it removed both TWRP and FFF. Now every time I turn it on and slide the lock over I get error messages. they are as followes:
Calander Storage (process com.android.providers.calandar) has stopped unexpectedly. ((FORCE CLOSE BUTTON))
process com.android.acore has stopped unexpectedly. ((FORCE CLOSE BUTTON))
This repeates as soon as I press the force close.
Then the Kindle Fire reboots.
If I type ADB Devices I get 4458002600000001 device
if I use the KFU it reports
ADB STATUS : Online
Boot Status :4000
none of the options work as I keep getting errors in FKU
Is it hopeless?
Please help me as the warrantee is done and I NEED IT BACK BADDDDDD
Thanks
Don't wait for it to fc on you race it to factory reset in the kindle settings and reset it or get a factory cable to force it into fastboot so you can reflash twrp and fff and then flash a rom.
Not sure what you are saying

I don't Understand what you mean by your post.
My kindle keeps rebooting BEFORE I can factory reset. I can get to the settings screen, but it only goes so far and reboots.
I am a newb so to speak and appreciate the help. Just wondering if you could give me specific details to follow. Have read posts but nothing stated works.
This is making me crazy.
There wasn't any hidden meaning in my suggestion some manage to be fast enough to make it to settings to factory reset it before it reboots. If it's not possible for you then a factory cable is needed. Hold the power button for 30 seconds till you are assured it is off then try the race from that powered off position anything you can do to shave time in your effort or gain a few seconds to reach the factory reset.
You r amazing

I am having this same issue, KFU says its still online 4000 but doesn't let me go into fastboot. Please help.
Try Soupkit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850038 if it still doesn`t work get a factory cable post # 9 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392693 .
This happened to me. I just turned it off, turned it back on, opened KFU, and rooted from there. I installed twrp Then mounted, copied the stock rom, wiped everything, copied stock by mounting again, and installed it. If it doesn't work then use soup kit or a factory cable
Devices:
Kindle Fire with AlienDroid primary and Modaco secondary
I can turn it on without a problem the problem is when it turns on I get the same error messages like in the first post and before I can erase everything it reboots. When I attach to KFU it says it's online and 4000 if I tell it to go to fastboot it says waiting on device.
On KFU, Just click root. Remember, this is while it is booting. By the way, what rom did you install. if you got it off Amazon and renamed it to Update. zip, after installing ics or jb, then my way should work. just keep trying and don't give up.

Kindle Fire with AlienDroid primary and Modaco secondary
All fixed now, easiest way to fix it was to go into applications and clear data of the affected apps (calendar, keyboard and contacts) and it cleared right up and booted normally and now I am back to stock. Just glad it was something so easy. Took a couple of times of the kindle fire rebooting but finally was able to clear out the data affected.
should've thought of that at first. good job.

Red Triangle Kindle can't boot.

I brought a Kindle Fire 2nd Gen and wanted to root it. As soon as I took it out of the box it started updating itself to 10.2.3. When I attempted to root it, it started working very slow and the boot logo would randomaly appear and now after alot of searching and trying to fix I now have a red triangle with the message
"Your Kindle device cannot boot.
You can reset your device to Factory defaults to fix this issue (all data will be deleted from the device).
<Menu options>
To reboot your device press and hold the power button for 4 seconds and release.
To reset to Factory Defaults, press the power button 5 times in succession"
Restarting doesn't work nor does trying to reset to Factory Defaults it simply goes back to the same screen.
you're boned contact amazon and tell them that it just keeps going to that screen... DO NOT SAY THAT YOU TRIED TO ROOT IT.

Don'y know what you did in the end, if you contacted Amazon for a replacement, or if you acquired a Factory cable.
This should be recoverable by using a special Factory cable to get Fastboot mode, from which you can flash backed up partitions.
Ideally you should backup your own partitions on your new KF2 straight after rooting it. This thread has the instructions:

Hi,
I have the same problem right now, with the same device... can you please tell me if you fixed it and how? But please bare with me, I am a total beginner. I don't have a factory cable, can I fix it without it? If I order one, i need to wait approx. 40 days to get it.
Thank you

[Q] Unit stuck in Rbox boot loop

I mistakingly...( at 3AM!) installed the Rbox boot menu. It was not intentional....just late at night and I hit the wrong button! In any case I am now stuck in a loop the boots to the Rbox boot menu with 2 options....load kernal or boot to recovery. Load kernal just reboots to the same menu screen and boot to recovery gives me a failed update message after which in several minutes the unit boots back to the original Rbox boot menu. This particular unit had been previously rooted, updates blocked and loaded. The bootloader was unlocked with the FTV utility and that's when I hit the wrong button and loaded the Rbox boot menu.
I have tried connecting to the internet directly....( my router blocks updates) with no success. Is there anyway to get out of this even if it means updating and losing root or do I now have an extra boat anchor on my hands?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried connecting a usb keyboard and entering the keyboard command: Alt + i + PrntScreen
You have to enter all three keys at once and repeat as many times as it takes for the screen to maybe boot in clockworkod.

Hi,
Yes.... I stumbled across that today on searching. I tried with a little iPazzport usb keyboard/mouse that I use to program with, but I'm going to try another keyboard as well just in case it is the keyboard. I tried at least 20 times over and over again with nothing at all happening. I appreciate the suggestion though and will try again with the different keyboard tomorrow. I'm a little burned out on it tonight! I'm afraid what I might have done is to change from the CWM bootloader to that one when I did it. Hopefully not, but there's no way to tell since all I can get now is the loop when I boot the unit up. I tried not only when I got the failed update message, but at all different times during the boot operation just to see if i got any response at all, but nothing so far seems to break into that cycle.
Thank you!
fxbill,
Sometimes you just have to walk away and then get back to it later. I use a low cost dell usb keyboard and what I found out is that you have to do press all three keys at once in unison and at a steady rate until you get a response. Just try to press all three at once and I guarantee you'll get it done. Try it when you're ready to get back to it. Have a good night!!!

If you get failed update when selecting recovery that means you didn't install CWM. If you did a full unlock, you can use fastboot to boot into CWM. If you didn't do a full unlock, then you're pretty much screwed.

Well.... CWM was in.... I got the install from zip screen, but at that late hour and as tired as I was it's possible that I somehow removed it when installing your boot program. If so then I can live with it and yet I will try again tomorrow to see if I can fast boot or use a different keyboard for trying to alt/pnt scrn/i and see if that works.
I did do another unit tonight and installed your boot program before installing CWM,,,,again in error, but this time it booted to the same screen and then rebooted back into the preloaded unit! I then installed CWM and everything else went smoothly. I'm assuming your program is still in there, but is there a way to verify that it's still there? I updated to the newer 4.0 firmware with no issues and Netflix is again working and the firmware shows 4.0 installed. Is there really any reason to update any father than that? Is there anything new in the latest rooted firmware that justifies updating any more than I already have? If not I'll leave it as is...everything works extremely well at present.
Thanks so much for the advice and help!
@fxbill, so were you able finally to get this fixed? i'm in same situation when my device constantly reboots after counting down to 0 in rboxes menu . tomorrow i will by trying to find an USB keyboard and see whether im in luck of getting to recovery. hopefuly that works. i'll keep you posted.

after update to 51.1.6.3_516012020 hangs

I had rooted FTV Gen 1 with cwm, BM, 51.1.4.1_514013920 plus everything else required running and working for a long time now.
I downloaded bueller-51.1.6.3_516012020-rooted.zip and copied, and did install zip via cwm (i did not install Rbox’s Boot Menu because i already had it, not sure everytime we have to do this)
Now the Startup of 51.1.6.3_516012020 hangs forever. I did Alt+i+PrSc and went to CWM, factory reset, clear cache multiple times. It still hangs in boot forever. Any help would be greatly appreciated?
regards,
arun
Do you see rbox's boot menu when you power it on?
No I dinot seee the rbox boot menu. i realized i overwrote it.
So, i put in a usb drive with 51.1.4.0_514006420 on my keyboard USB port. (or could have used USB hub) and I did Alt+i+PrSc and went to CWM and installed bueller-51.1.4.0_514006420-rooted+updated.zip. I read this version doesnot require rbox boot loader.
After update, rebooted and everything works fine now !!!
Thanks for your time {ParanoiA} for replying to the post. Now I will try and update to latest 51.1.6.3_516012020 with rbox BL and the whole 9 yards.

Fire Tv (Gen 1) in a reboot loop

I have one of the very first firetvs (Gen 1) in the market with OS version 51.1.0.0, rooted using towel root & all the updates blocked at the router. I never had a problem running Kodi or any other apps whatsoever until recently when it suddenly started going on a reboot loop. It happens whether I'm running Kodi or any apps on Amazon home screen. When it reboots, it shows only the homescreen icons and not the menues and keeps flickering for a few seconds & then reboots again. It keeps on doing this until I turn the power OFF & turn it back again. It works for around 30 minutes and then goes into the loop again. I had Kodi 14.2 (Helix ) running before & had this issue. Recently upgraded to 16.0 (Jarvis) & having the same issue. I was wondering if anyone having this kind of problem & if so, is there any remedy for that. Thanks!
Have you shut down (turned off) the updates through ADB? If not it may try to install an update and because you have an pre-rooted image it fails.

The updates have been turned off through ADB since I rooted the box. I also checked with ADBFire that says "Amazon Updates Off" at the bottom.
