How to add new font to Q rom themes? - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Questions & Answers

Hello, i have installed custom A10 Q rom My question is, how to add new custom font to the system themes? I have missing Anaheim font in Q roms. Where is folder with fonts located and how to put manually new one. My device is rooted.
Thank You guys

/system/fonts?
There's plenty of Magisk modules that add fonts without modifying the system partition.
I don't know if there's a non-root way to add fonts.

I'm sure it depends greatly on the app. Android wasn't designed with arbitrary font availability.
I googled Magisk font Android and found lots of things. This one has a template if the font you want is not already packaged.

Rom Toolbox Pro - Fonts

Recently I've been having fun changing the fonts on my phone. With all the fonts I'm able to change in the list, I can't change them all. I mean, I can but when I do and reboot it gets stuck in a bootloop. I've only successfully changed the clock font and pretty much any font that isn't bold or italicized. Although I would like to change some more fonts other than just normal-style fonts. Does anyone know which fonts for sure can't be changed? If not, I'll even go through them one at a time to compile a list of unchangeable fonts.
Or could it be the font I'm choosing just won't take to the font I'm trying to replace?
Okay, it seems they all will change, but to do it safely I have to change some of the separately.

I faced the same problem but how to solve the bootloop if I face it??
I had to flash a new ROM and lost everything. If you made your list it would also be of great help.

SOME fonts from rom toolbox are for GB and below only. that's why you'll get bootloops.
try finding fonts for ICS/JB in the main Android Developement forum then go to themes section. if you get a bootloop and don't have a backup or something
or you could try THIS out

[GUIDE] How to easily change system fonts with Font installer on Xperia Phones

Hello folks,
I am a big fan of fonts and always like to change them. However, it seems that changing the fonts on a Xperia device can be a bit of a hassle because there are like 50 different fonts and you don't wanna mess them all up.
So I personally use the famous Font installer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.font.installer&hl=de
Which usually works fine but in this case, there is a small (but very important) thing you have to do, to change most of the fonts.
Requirements: Root and some brainz
1. Install Font installer from the market.
2. In Font installer, click on the menu button and then on "preferences".
3. Click on "Select Fonts" and choose the following additional to the ones that are already checked: "SoMABold.ttf, SoMADigitLight.ttf, SoMARegular.ttf, SoMCSAns-Regular.ttf". I have no idea how these differ from the default android fonts, but you need to change these to see a big difference across your system.
MAKE SURE TO CLICK ON "BACKUP" BEFORE YOU INSTALL YOUR FONT! Then you can alway restore!
4. ATTENTION! DO NOT REBOOT RIGHT AFTER INSTALLING THE FONT.
Then, either install a font from their servers or an own font. I highly recommend the Helvetica Neue Font from iOS7, Caviardreams, or Open Sans Light. All very thin fonts which look great on your device with high DPI.
5. DO NOT CLICK ON "REBOOT NOW" AFTER INSTALLING THE FONT! Power off the device and turn it on manually. Rebooting within font installer can easily make you stuck in bootloop forever for some weird reason. Experienced it many times on my Galaxy Note, so just do it the safe way!
There you go, enjoy your new fonts all across system! Screenshot attached is the iOS7 Helvetica Neue Font.
Some additional info:
- You might not wanna change the default Clock Type because many fonts don't give much care about the looks of the digits. So if you wanna keep your default sony clocktype, do not change "SoMADigitlight.ttf" (obviously)
- Thin fonts look a lot better on the Sony UI than bold ones (like montserrat)
Greetings

Font installer or rom toolbox
Confused whether i should install font installer alone or rom toolbox
i am an xperia miro user. In my phone Clockopia.ttf and Robot- Regular.ttf are the only ticked ones. Moreover the fonts like SoMABOLD.ttf, SoMCSAns-Regular.ttf are not present in my phone. ( not preinstalled i guess)
So how will i change my fonts using font installer. I have tried many times, but it is not changing
You told to reboot manually but you did not tell how to get out of problem that I am stuck in after click Reboot Now
Thank you very much, it worked fine but my device does not have these: SoMABold.ttf, SoMADigitLight.ttf, SoMARegular.ttf only SoMCSAns-Regular.ttf and some parts just a few are not changed. Any idea why?

I heard when your device is stuck is because the font is not compatible with the device, i don't know if it's true or not. When i tried to change the font before this guide, my device booted normally but no changes were made. The only way i know to get out from a boot loop is to flash the ftf file in flashtool.
HELP!!!
So i followed the instructions as it says...picked a font clicked install and reboot...yippie...not...i noticed non of the font changed....except for the ones iinvoloved with html coding or webview....aka chrome and email....only problem is now all the letters look like candy canes and i cant figure how to get it back to normal.... please help.... htc on m8 vzw 5.0.1

Custom Font on OOS, where to get them?

I would like to use custom fonts like Google Product Sans or Ubuntu font, but the fonts I tried from magisk repo had missing glyphs or notification bugs where only half of the message text was shown.
Can someone help?
Thx

Try magisk modules like Sans font mod and change your default font to roboto

Question Font change on OOS 11?

How have you guys been changing system fonts on OxygenOS 11 across the device? I tried using the CFI magisk module and only notification titles and the status bar seem to have changed fonts, and nothing else. Thanks
My Magisk module could change all of them.

Please note you have to choose "Roboto" at Settings -> Customization -> Font.
Also OnePlus uses special colon "U+A789" for lock screen clock, so you may get square character if your font doesn't have it.
Try this. It works well and also have themed my emojis allowing me to get my good ol handgun back. https://www.androidacy.com/font-manager-is-out-in-beta/
^like that handgun emoji better than mine

Oh man thank you so much. Was going crazy trying to find a fix for this. Put the colon in the A789 spot of the font file in FontForge and it is fixed now!!

I am not responsible for your device. You must be rooted. So far as I'm aware, the Google Sans font is new for the 8.1.0 preview, or at least it being used for the colon in the lockscreen is new. Due to this, the old lockscreen-clock font fix...

There's a guide somewhere in there that shows you how to add the colon in the appropriate spot using an app called FontForge. Old thread but still works.

Can you elaborate on which files do we need to modify for the clock colon? There's a magisk font mod I like that contains like 30+ ttf files, I changed the roboto-regular.ttf, flashed it and the problem remains. Btw ur font mod is pretty good for Chinese user too!

You'll need FontForge (I'm using CLI version, but Windows GUI version is OK too).

The post shows how to fix U+EE01, so do the same for U+A789 after that.

I did try for both glyphs for the Roboto-Regular.ttf file, flashed it and it doesn't work. So I was asking which files do I need to change. Keep in mind I was trying to get another magisk font mod working with the colon.

You have to mod all weights (light, bold...) since SystemUI uses different weight for the clock.
If there is no other weight, maybe you have to add them by yourself to the module.

Question Fonts Location

Anybody know the folder location of the OnePlus 9 Pro systemwide fonts? Want to overwrite them with a custom font using the default font names after backing them up.
Nevermind, I have finally found the way to change my fonts to a custom font! With a custom boot animation, I finally have my phone the way I want it!!!! Yippee!!!!
Be prepared for your lock screen clock to likely show squares cos half the fonts don't show : correctly
How did you changed the font ? You rooted the phone ?
