Unless you have poor cell reception at home id turn off wifi calling then. Most public wifi won't allow wifi calling anyway so it doesn't serve much purpose if it drains your battery that bad.

With s20... everything drains battery. I get 3 hr sot with 97 hz. I am not even using wifi call, play games or use social media.

I'm on 120hz and can easily get 5-6 hours SOT

Google doesn't seem as high now, it isn't even on the too used list. I disabled WiFi calling but it's still showing up. Unrelated but I keep getting occasional sms stuck sending. A restart fixes it.

Help with battery drain

Hi guys,
I need some help with my LG G3. I'm running Android now 2.4 and my battery is draining fast. I have this problem with every ROM. I just use the phone for social media and browsing. Things like Greenify and Wakelock Terminal don't help?
NFC, Bluetooth and GPS are off unless using (wich is very little) Please someone help me![emoji106]

What is your screen on time? The G3 usually lasts between 3-4 hours of screen on time, and sometimes even less if you play games.

Maybe with your usage it's 3-4 hours sot but you can't say this phone only averages 3-4 hours sot. Everyones usage is different and it can certainly do WAY better then 3-4 hours depending on the circumstances as you can see in the screenshots.
I average around 11h20m most cycles on my phone, And as you can see by the screenshots I provided it can easily exceed that.

I have the same usage as him (Social Media, Youtube and browsing) hence the mentioned 3 hour screen on time. You may not be using Data/wifi when your screen is on, and so you get more than 10 hours.

Battery life

Anyone have feedback on SOT?
Anecdotally, about 3 hours SOT. But my signal isn't great, and I'm a moderate user.
I'll post some screen shots later. But it's above average battery life. 3 hrs SOT usually. Using it with LTE and no Google now service. Lasts around 16 hrs.

Here is the usage. Not that great but manageable.
Actually, I'm getting a pretty awesome SoT: 6 hours, with light-moderate usage (mostly reddit and G+, some Youtube, Hangouts and Chrome). Auto brightness is on, sync is on, 3G on (although I'm on wifi) and NFC is on.
Mind you, I don't use any crappy battery-draining apps like WhatsApp/Facebook/Snapchat/Viber.
So...6 hours SoT but your screenshot shows just over 3?

He has half battery left
Battery seems to be sliding more quickly here. Time will tell.
Looking forward to getting some custom kernel love on this device tbh.
UPDATE: I'd call myself a moderate user as I don't really game much.
I'm getting pretty horrendous battery life. Looking at it dropping a percent near every couple of minutes, maybe less, of use. I left work at 16:00 and I've dropped from 50% battery (minimal use from 06:20 this morning), to 24% while I type.
That's just not acceptable. I'm looking at getting barely 3.5hrs SOT at this rate.
I thought it would settle but it hasn't. I've got Greenify pro and even hibernated Facebook and Messenger but I'm not seeing too much of a difference.
Phone also appears to get hot with certain task very very easily. Particularly when browsing. Might try a different browser, but if the problem, this is therefore only a workaround.
The Robin is my wife's phone. She charges it each morning before work and after 24 hours usually is down to around 35-40% and will have at least 2.5 hours of SOT.
She uses Wi-Fi at home, and I think all of her SoT is in chrome. She uses Gnow and has location set to high accuracy.
This morning she didn't charge it and was at 62% but I didn't check her usage stats. Tonight she'll be at 36+ hours off the charger and I'll check it then.
Yesterday was an incredible day for battery. Hit a magical 5 hours of SOT. Normal usage, but I am a light to moderate user.
Please define light to moderate user if you can? I have emails, Gmail, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook etc all syncing and use mainly chrome, YouTube and the above apps..I'm seeing close to 3 hours SoT with GPS Bluetooth and wifi always on.

@Wiggz - I use Messenger, Facebook, Bacon Reader, Twitter, Inbox, and Chrome most of the day. I have GPS off since I don't really use Maps too often and brightness was at about 50-55%. I also don't have a BT device, so BT is off as well.

I haven't used it for much more than GPS driving. An hour and a half with screen constantly on used up about 16% of the battery, indicating slightly over 9 hours.
3hrs SoT isn't better than average, 4hrs is average.
So no one is getting good battery life? 4 hours screen on is AVERAGE. You should get that with LTE enabled and using twitter, reddit, youtube, etc.

If you are going to use Facebook and the Messenger app you will never have decent enough battery life on any phone. Those are some of the worst apps developer could have made and consume A LOT of battery in background. If you remove those two apps I can almost guarantee that your battery life will be improved by 20-25%.

One of the better SOT phones I've owned since coming from smaller 4.5 inch screens. I easily get 4 hours on a long day (16 -18 hours off the charger). I watched 2.5 hour movie the other day and did some more stuff. In 8 hours, I had over 5 hours of SOT with 47% battery left.

I don't like gsam because it doesn't read the SOT from the system. It records it's own stats.
GSam battery monitor allows you to see the stock android battery stats and screen on time from there by going to the menu on the bottom right, clicking more and then Battery Use - Built In. If there is an easier way to get to stock android battery stats, I'd love to know.

Nothing special, really? It's basically stock, I just disabled some stock apps: Browser, calendar, stock email, Gmail, Hangouts, and stock messaging. Everything else is left alone.... I even installed the actual Facebook app (aka: battery eater) for the first time in a few years, since my battery can keep up now.

No screen on time. I am in an area where I get no service and was using WiFi, so today I turned on Airplane mode and then WiFi and it seems to work a lot better. though I still need to investigate is battery drain is bad when using the phone in normal service area.

I would believe it. I got about 5 hours in my last run. What I think ate up about 20% was listening to music through the speakers.. The phone drained faster than normal Witt the speakers on at max volume.. Which makes sense and is 5000% tolerable because how amazing they sound.
Furthermore, if I could get some stronger cell phone signal, that would help with screen on time too. I never have no signal, but I never see over two bars of signal either.
Sorry about double post.. Forgot to include second one..
Ok, I thought this was a battery beast but I think I was wrong. I don't expect any phone's battery indicator to be totally accurate but I've noticed that if I top the A7 up a little the battery doesn't drain *at all* for a long time. I've been letting it go down to 30% then topping it up to 40% where it stays without moving even while I'm streaming music and surfing for half an hour. Fishy.
I thought that as I was on about 3:30 sot at 40% I'd let it go down further to see if it would reach 5 hours. Three charging cycles in a row the phone has hit 19% and then reported that it's empty and shut down.
EU model build B03.

Amazing battery life on the s8+
Battery life has been a bit inconsistent. Usually I get around 4 or 5 hours screen on time, though honestly my habit with all my phone Shas been to charge them whenever possible. If I'm driving, I set it on the mount and plug it in. If I'm at home or work and not using it, I plug it in (or in this case set it on the wireless charger). But I was fairly unimpressed with the S8+ battery life.
Yesterday and today, I turned on the medium battery power setting. It seems to have increased my screen on time dramatically, but I'm also at home and on wifi.
Medium decreases screen brightness by 10%, sets resolution to FHD+, underclocks by 30%, and turns off the AOD. Of these, the only thing I miss is the AOD, but it also seems to make the most difference in battery life.
Either way, my battery life today is much better. So far I've had almost five and a half hours of screen on time and 54% battery remaining. That's all surfing the internet, posting here, texting my wife, taking a few photos, and a little Facebook. I'd say that is fairly impressive.
I'll see how the battery holds out Monday when I'm away from wifi, driving through varying cell tower coverage areas. I'll also check how it is if I turn the AOD back on. I do like the AOD.
Really good for a stock rom
Bat Rom & Noto.
Could of got to 10hrs but was playing with themes which require reboots.

My last screen shot was wifi, lte, no 5g, fhd, 60hz, printing service off, find my device off and I believe that's it. Honestly I don't see a dramatic difference in screen quality with these setting either. It's noticeable but definitely not THAT noticeable and honestly it's worth it if you need your phone to last for long periods between charges.

That is actually not entirely true, I have the European variant of McLaren without 5G modem I this is by far the worst SOT I ever experienced on an OnePlus device. And I have had them since the beginning. I can barely scrape up 4h - 4.5h SOT over an 24-48h time period
on a full charge cycle. Note I'm not even on stock kernel so I would expect SOT be up 8-10h without any bigger problems. What I'm trying to make out if my battery is bad or the complete phone, and if that would come to that I would return it to the seller in flash.
Batt stats and kernel logs show active drain between 8-10% per hour and idle drain to 1.5-2.5% per hour. Numbers don't say much to me however active drain seems very high to me. I know that the display consumes a lot for sure but I'm not really sure if this is too high or not.
I'm on FHD+ resolution but with 90Hz refresh rate and adaptive background light. To summarize it all, I'm hugely disappointed with my device in perspective of battery life. Feel free to drop comments or suggestions on what I can do. Perhaps give some figures on idle and active
drain if you have them.
