I wanted to flash a Lineage 17.1 image on my device so I'm trying to erase system before flashing the GSI image I am met with this error:
Code:
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
Bootloader is unlocked, fastboot lists both PHONE Unlocked and FRP Unlock. I've also tried flashing the GSI image directly but I get the same error. Any idea what's wrong?

I wanted to flash MMB29M version downloaded from google factory images official web site, before it comes OTA...
I am using the script "flash-all.bat" and i had this error message while flashing bootloader (same error if i do this step manually) :
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-bullhead-bhz10k.img
FAILED (remote: device is locked. Cannot flash images)
It is not the first time i flash a rom on a Nexus device, i did that many times on my N4 and my N6, and both were locked and not rooted like my N5X.
With the same process... And I have never had such this error.
So why do I have this error ? What can i do ?

From my reading of Heisenburg's guide in the general section, you need to have your bootloader unlocked before you can flash a factory image. Allow "OEM Unlock" in Developer Options then try again.

No other choice than erasing my data so...
Thanks for your answer.

#1 thing you do when you buy a phone with an unlockable bootloader: unlock it.
You can always wait for the OTA.
You can sideload an OTA update package from stock recovery if you have a locked bootloader, but to flash the partition images using fastboot you absolutely must have an unlocked bootloader.
can anyone tell me how to flash TWRP on my redmi note 5 global version? I've tried searching and it does not work after entering fastboot flash twrp.img on cmd fastboot mode. Thanks in advance guys

Have you unlocked the bootloader yet? Do you get a success/failure when you try to flash using fastboot? Do you have twrp.img in the same folder as fastboot.exe?

Sounds like you need to update the fastboot drivers. While the device is in fastboot, go to device manager and look for an unknown device that is probably your phone. You'll need to update the drivers to have it show Android Bootloader Interface.

Hi
I have Xperia XZ2 Compact with Android 9 with unlocked bootloader. was trying to flash a ROM built from AOSP. I followed this official Sony's instruction: https://developer.sony.com/develop/...build-instructions/build-aosp-android-p-9-0-0. I have just added a field in xml that is used in Information about phone activity. The build was succesfull. In the end I get an information: "Your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and will not boot". I did wiped the data, system and dalvik before flashing in TWRP. What the hell is going on?

That's the wrong OEM.
Please follow my instructions in the SonyAOSP thread.
Or step 7 of your linked guide from sony.
So now the following steps to do:
1) download oem.img from https://developer.sony.com/file/download/software-binaries-for-aosp-pie-android-9-0-kernel-4-9-tama/
2) wipe data/cache/system,
3) from package built from AOSP do this
fastboot flash boot out/target/product/<device>/boot.img
fastboot flash system out/target/product/<device>/system.img
fastboot flash vendor out/target/product/<device>/vendor.img
fastboot flash userdata out/target/product/<device>/userdata.img
and lastly
fastboot flash oem img_from_point_one.img ?

Just follow my sonyaosp thread fastboot instructions
No files found in android 9 stock firmware https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=288319.
Allright that's original firmware but what if I want to make my own changes in AOSP? Thats the point.

Try flashing via fast boot and if it doesn't work you have flash stock ROM through RSD.

Help needed, Phone stuck in fastboot. Bootloader locked
Nedd stock fastboot rom for xt-1710-10.
Somehow my phone died and unknowingly flashed pie ota bootloader through fastboot. Now can't flash any other rom as it wont boot . If someone can provide sotock pie rom flashable via fastboot of indian variant it will be grealty appreciated.
currently flashing other pie rom gives error and gpt flashing shows failed downgrade of security version
Failed to verify hab image boot
failed to verify boot image
Error: Failed to pass validation , backup to fastboot.
Tried LMSA tool but it wont flash successfully as my android version is still 8.0 so it downloads 8.0 rom and it can't be flashed as I accidently flashed another version boot/recovery image .
if anyone running pie on indian variant and locked bootloader and can download pie rom through Lenovo tool and upload it , it will be highly appreciated as currently lockdown is going on so can't even visit service centre.
Are you using fastboot or mfastboot?
Also, if you don't mind unlocking bootloader it may help if nothing else. But it's irreversible
Did you try fastboot boot twrp?
