Hello guys, recently i've install a treble rom in my mi max 3 but the device don't boot and return to fastboot :/
What can happened ? how to install a gsi rom ? maybe because of ARB ?
Sorry for my bad inglish.
you need to format data partition
shouldn't you flash a specific firmware before flashing some GSIs? Or was that for something else?
Theres a GSI thread where the process is explained in detail I think

Hello guys,
I have just bought a Redmi Note 5 with MIUI 9.5.13.0(OEIMIFA). I would like to flash a custom rom over it. Is there a good tutorial to unlocking bootloader, flashing TWRP and then, a custom rom?
Also, is it advisable to upgrade to MIUI 10 before flashing a custom rom?
Thanks a lot in advance
no need to update to miui10 for unlocking and flashing any custom rom

if you want to install lineageOS then don't use formatDATA option in TWRP
please read it carefully, if you have any doubt then ask for help in desired custom rom threads

Any update on your issue, I am having similar problem with Android 9 and Huawei Mate SE, I can only boot to phh ROM 9 img and for stock 330, 351 and 354 updates I have to use HuRUpdater.
Every other ROM will restart the phone no matter what i tried.
Hello, i see that this device is also listed for anti rollback which you can't flash back to Global Beta via mi flash without bricking. Now.. my question is... Is it possible to use EDL with authorization to go back to Oreo firmware from Android Pie since that flash mode has higher privilege.
Reason why i ask is because like this device, I have a Mi Max 3 which also is listed for antirollback and both Android Pie and Oreo has ARB 4.
You can flash via fastboot as well with no issues, as both Oreo and pie fw are arb4

Uh, nono, I bricked when i went back to beta. So i had someone help me to flash from Global to Beta using EDL by remote. That is why i asked, either way i have beta now.
Reason i ask this question is because you guys have anti-rollback.. and you guys have more Roms than Mi Max 3. We have anti 4 now and flashing TWRP is not working. Yet your device and Mi8 that is on the anti-rollback list too along with Mi Max 3...are able to have a lot more Roms and working TWRP. I ask Mi8 forum same question because they have been advancing as well.

Hello everyone
Sorry for my bad english.
i am noob when it comes to flashing firmware.. i am using havoc os android 10 for a very long time. i wanted to switch to android 11 arrow os but yesterday i tried everything.. but my note 8 was bootlooping or freezing while booting whenever i flash arrow os 11. i wasn't sure at the time that what is happening so i flashed havoc again. now when i read the post of arrow os it was saying i need to flash android 10 or 11 firmware(for better experience) in order to use arrow os 11. now when i flashed havoc i was using stock android 9. could it be the reason that i am not able to boot into arrow 11? also i searched for android 11 firmware for redmi note 8.. but i am kind of confused on that one because i was able to find only note 8 china firmware which are android 11.. rest are android 10 i don't know if it is necessary to flash global firmware or if i will be ok flashing china one. i wanted to flash android 11 firmware so i will not get stuck again with these kind of issues. but if there is no option i am okay with android 10 firmware. so in short my questions are..
Can anyone provide me a link for redmi note 8 android 11 firmware?
is it my problem that i don't have the latest firmware?
also can i flash firmware with my custom recovery or do i need to use some other software in fastboot mode?
any kind of help will be appreciated. Thanks
Hey, I tried ArrowOS yesterday on my RN8 global with no problem, follow the instructions and use the latest firmware for your device(for me its global 12.0.4) Link I used for firmware.

your problem sounds more like data partition incompatibility
use CLEAN flash first (format data, not wipe) follow this tutorial
if it dosn't work, then start playing with FW
FW links
RN8 : https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/ginkgo/
RN8 T : https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/willow/
you can flash any region fw, (flash with recovery as normal zip)
just don't make mistake flashing ginkgo FW on willow or willow FW on ginkgo
you will break the phone !
