This is the Traveltek low-end Android 4.2.2 tablet - M950D1
http://traveltekusa.com/traveltek/tablets/m950d1/
It was purchased by my friend's mother as a birthday present. He told me to root it for him.
1. VROOT works, although I've had to do it twice. -> http://www.mgyun.com/
Props to the Chinese developers for their works.
2. Rumored unlocked/default bootloader (?, Please verify)
3. NoFrills CPU control works. You can overclock the duel core ARM Cortex to 1.2-1.3 ghtz with no ill effects, however tablet becomes hot when charging, so i don't recommend it in hot climates.
4. The tablet freezes somewhat after booting to the OS, NoFrills takes about 25 seconds to kick in.
5. Play Store will manually install, but when I received the tablet it automatically disables itself after reboot, but apps can be purchased and installed. (Bug in firmware)
6. Portrait mode is ugly. Text is blocky and..well...skewed.
7. Xposed Framework installs, but GravityBox does not recognize it Fixed by a reboot after installing. X BLAST shows up and is enabled but doesn't have full functionality (are we ODEX?)
8. Recovery is accessible through ROM toolbox or any app that will "reboot recovery". You'll get the dead android with "No Command.", as far as I know its possible to get into recovery menu here. I just pressed random buttons until it happened. Key comb Vol+ & Power just gives a solid green LED, so booting into recovery this way does NOT work.
Future development on this device? I'll be buying one for myself and testing if the answer is "yes".
Hello everyone,
As of OOS 4.0.0, the Tasker shell method for making an automated night mode switcher no longer works. I have tried both the "settings put global night_mode_enable/d 1" as well as the "settings put secure twilight_mode 1", with or without root access, with or without "su" in front of the command.
There is a method discussed here whereby night mode can be triggered via AutoTools for Tasker, but once you pull the notification panel the setting reverts.
I have also run LogCat for when you activate night mode via the Quick Settings panel, and once when you disable it. I see the services responsible but lack the knowledge to go forth. If somebody has an idea on how to get access to night mode via tasker from the provided logs (or any other means you can suggest for me to test), please feel free to post your suggestions/solutions.
Logs: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0Bwu1tuojwUVbUVAzQ2xKeHNGU0U?usp=sharing
PressON is capture when switching nightmode on and vice versa.
Hi, I have Mi Max 32G (Hydrogen) with Resurrection Remix 5.8.3
I saw in this link: https://www.xda-developers.com/android-nougats-freeform-window-mode-what-it-is-and-how-developers-can-utilize-it/ that android 7 has capability of free size multi window without any third part app.
I have tried both methods ("adb shell settings put global enable_freeform_support 1" & Enable "Force activities to be resizable") separately and also together and also rebooted and clear recent apps each time.
New square button appeared in recent app next to close button but it opens apps in full screen mode.
Any body else have this issue or tested this feature successfully?
Is this issue of my costume ROM ?
I accidentally open the freeform wondow and again accidentally closed the app ?? and after that i cant find it again no more...??
Rarely work..
Hi Everyone,
My android phone details:
Xiaomi Redmi 1S
Custom ROM based on AICP
Android ver. 7.1.2
Possibly I'm on Guest Mode
My Concern
Few days back,
I realized that my Magisk not working
Then, gradually found out
Home button, Recent buttons stopped working
Notifications not popping up
Google Play store throwing user error for my Google Account
I suspect myself on Guest Mode
Settings->Users, not opening any user list
'Developer Options not available for this user' msg appears when I clicked on Settings->Developer Options
What Did I Do So Far:
My phone not booting into TWRP recovery mode when (Power Off+Volume Up) pressed all together as my phone always boots up into system(means to OS) & not into TWRP recovery.
I tried Nova Launcher using 'Activities' trick;
in Setup wizard, I was unable to find out
SetUpWizardTestActivity or SetUpWizardUpgradeActivity options which supposed to flash my phone
There's only one option called "Activating Mobile Service" which no use
What My Phone Can Do:
It can boot into Fastboot mode only by holding VolumeDown+PowerOff 2gether, then I can clearly see Xiaomi bunny logo appears along with Fastboot text appears.
What information Do I Need:
Since Developer Options not accessible on my phone, how can I connect my phone to pc & initiate ADB commands,
Is it possible? Bcz 'Usb debugging'can't be toggle over from Settings -> Developer Options
Can Anybody find out for custom ROM, how can Nova Launcher trick works i need file location for these files
SetUpWizardTestActivity, SetUpWizardUpgradeActivity SetUpWelcome something like this
I learned that on Samsung phones
These files can be easily mapped under SetupWizard
Try flashing MIUI via fastboot mode since you are able to boot into fastboot mode(yes I know USB debugging is off) still give it a try.
MIUI Fastboot ROMs are available on MIUI Forum.
If are able to use play store then try apps which allows to boot into recovery trough app.
There's an app "simple reboot for rooted users" by Fransisco Franco, this app works fine to boot into recovery mode.
Try and see if your device able to boot into recovery mode.
If play store not working then sideload apps from internet.
Or
Try flashing custom recovery again using twrp manager, flashify or other recovery flashing apps or just flash recovery via fastboot method and try booting into recovery mode.
Also make sure to other your choice ROM ready to flash in memory card or in pen drive (using otg cable.)
If I remember correctly nougat ROMs are quite heavy for Redmi 1S because whenever I used them I had lag and heat up when using mobile data.
Other than that they are good, I am currently using MIUI 9 on Redmi 1S since it's not my primary device.
Developer Options are not available for this user message appears when
I click on Settings->Developer Options
Device: Infinix Hot 5 lite
Android Version: 7.0
My main concern;
To recover deleted messages
What I have done so far;
Option 1.
I tried Nova Launcher using 'Activities' trick;
in Setup wizard, I was unable to find out
SetUpWizardTestActivity or SetUpWizardUpgradeActivity options which supposed to flash my phone
"I only have one "Setup Wizard" with one option under it a: ".activating cellular service". Selecting that doesn't seem to help"
Option 2.
Settings > About Phone > Build number > Tap it 7 times to become developer;
I have tried tapping 5, 7 or even 100 times and "you're now developer" message never shows up

I have the same problem
did yall ever come up with a solution for this?
Hi,
Our Xiaomi MI 9T is splendid with its great AMOLED full screen without any notch or hole.
However, the web browsers like Chrome (and others apps) doesn't propose the possibility in the settings to remove the notification bar and to get a true immersive full screen mode.
No problem, adb is there!
No need to root the smartphone.
EDIT: I have tested "Immersive Manager Application" from Google Play Store and it's perfect. Very simple and it works even when you reboot your phone.
No more need to type adb commands below except at least few adb commands to grant the Secure Settings permission to the app. This is well explained by the application when you launch it the first time.
I let the adb commands below for information in case we had some "purists" who prefer adb than an immersive app.
1/ Enable the Developper mode
Go to Parameters/ About the phone
Click many times (at least 10) on the MIUI Version to activate the Developper mode
2/ Enable USB Debugging
Go to Parameters/... Others parameters/Developper options
Click on USB debugging
Click on Install via USB => You will have to connect to your MI account
Click on USB debugging (security parameters)
3/ Launch adb on your PC
Get adb.exe on the net (very easy)
Put it in a folder of your PC (for instance C:/adb)
Connect your smartphone to the PC
Launch a DOS command window
Go to the adb folder => cd /adb
To check if your smartphone is ready, type:
Code:
adb devices
If it's the first time, there will be a popup on your smartphone to authorize the adb commands
Then, normally your device will appear after typing "adb devices"
4/ Get the list of applications installed on your smartphone
Code:
adb shell pm list packages
Retrieve the name of the application(s) you want to remove the notification bar.
5a/ For instance, hide the notification bar only for Chrome and Google Photos
Code:
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.status=com.android.chrome,com.google.android.apps.photos
Note: Each time you enter this command, you cancel the previous one. You need to type only one command with all the apps you want to remove the notification bar (names of app are separated by a comma ,).
5b/ For instance, if you want to hide the notification bar for all the applications
Code:
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.status=*
6/ If you want to cancel this setting and put back the notification bar
Code:
adb shell settings put global policy_control null*
Enjoy your brillant full screen mainly when you are in dark mode.
:good:
Pls the screen..

Thanks for the instructions bro... I like the immersive mode on all the apps but i do not in instagram app, What is the command to get the immersive mode on all the apps but not in some specifics one?
The setting is reset on reboots. How can it be persisted?

Do you have root permissions? If the asnwer is "yes" you can do this:
Install terminal emulator from google play store. Open it and writte "su"
now writte this:
settings put global policy_control immersive.status=*
Tachan! you have immensive mode active. Only save the command in a note app. Always you reboot your phone the only thing you have to do is open terminal, su and paste your command.
A lot more easy and fast than do it with adb. the only "problem" is you need root.
If someone knows how to add an exception, please say so.
How do you show it on lock screen? Any ideas?

Enable USB debugging (security settings) under developer options.
I used SystemUI Tuner as it allows for blacklisting apps (sucha as whatsapp) that don´t manage full screen well.

Thank you! It worked, but as stated above, it reset after phone restart.
Maybe running a tasker command at boot might fix it ?
Edit: Use the Immersive Manager app (thank me later!)

No, it's not necessary to unlock the bootloader.
You have just to activate the developper mode as I indicate it.

Yes, it's true. Each time you reboot the phone, you should loose the setting.
And good point, thank you Ramsyst, I didn't check on Google Play Store the myriad of immersive mode applications!!
I have tested "Immersive Manager Application" and it's perfect. Very simple and it works even when you reboot your phone. :good::good:
I had previously created a task with Tasker and AutoTools (paid version) to change the immersive mode with the "Custom Setting" feature. But knowing that there are many apps (free and paid version) doing that better than AutoTools, it's not usefull to describe how I did it.

With Tasker you already have an option to make all apps you want to go immersive! There is no need to use any other command or app.
I believe everybody in the world should buy tasker
Is the best Android app. It may looks hard in the begining, but your imagination is the limit to do whatever you want.

You're right. I had never tested the split screen function. The notification bar is not hidden on split screen mode even when immersive mode is activated. The result is a bit weird as there is a mix of notification bar and app on the top of the screen.
"Google search" indicates that you are not the first one to face this issue... but apparently no solution has been found so far.
If somebody can help.
