Hi guys,
I left my phone on charge overnight and in the morning it was off and wouldn't switch back on.
A debrick image allowed me to get the phone into ODIN download mode (i couldn't get into the recovery mode though).
I have tried several different roms and now (i think) its on a stock 4.4.2 rom.
Odin seems to flash the phone without any errors but upon reboot shows "Booting Recovery..." then gets stuck in a boot loop.
I have even tried CWM - Odin seems to flash it without a problem but when it reboots it just shows "Booting Recovery..." and gets stuck in a boot loop (I have tried the Up Volume + Home + Power with no success).
Since it was on the stock rom and has never had a custom rom on it (until lately trying to fix it) it seems likely that the flash storage is dead or has bad sectors?
Any ideas? I have never had a phone die like this before
Thanks
I have exaktly the same problem and i think we are not alone.
Have you tried all usual things e.g. battery pull?

Hey guys,
Don't usually have to post but after searching all day I can't find a way out of this loop. My 10 is currently flashing the white HTC splash and rebooting endlessly. That's no big deal, but I ALSO have no recovery or download mode access.
The ONLY thing I can do to interrupt the loop is access fastboot by holding Vol UP + Vol Down on restart. Unfortunately trying to "reboot to recovery" only flashes the dark HTC Logo then immediately restarts to the original bootloop. Attempting to "reboot to download mode" simply resumes the boot loop.
The device is recognized in fastboot on my PC but unfortunately I cannot flash or erase anything because I'm in S-ON, so practically none of the fastboot commands work. I have been using TWRP recovery and Viper10 Rom.
Any help getting out of this loop is greatly appreciated. I was going to give up and pay the deductible and replace it, until I found out that the phone is backordered until October and my alternative is an LG, which I can't stand.
S O S!
Currently experiencing the exact same thing myself:

The only difference being that I let mine loop for a solid hour and it didn't successfully boot at all. In the past I was having issues sometimes when I restarted, but I would just create a backup and restore from it and it would work, which made me think the boot file was just either corrupt or non existent. I've never been locked out of recovery AND download mode, however.
Hello everyone! My One M9 has been stuck on boot screen after it's battery drained completely. It runs AICP 8.1 and adb does work, but I get booted into system every time I try to boot or reboot into bootloader, recovery, or download mode. The htc splash screen also takes longer before trying to boot the system. I tried unplugging the battery but it didn't have any effect. Does anyone have any tips or ideas?
Faulty button?. If it bypasses download mode you might have a stuck vol- button.
Hello,
Just Installed Android 11 Beta 3, now I am in a boot loop.
I can force the phone into the bootloader (Power + Volume Down) But it will stay there for about ~10 seconds and proceed on its own to the boot loop again. Thus I don't even get enough time to get ADB/Fastboot commands working over USB. I'm kinda thinking this one is dead now, but it steams it it was killed by a software update.
I had been running Android 11 Beta 2 without much issue, today I did the OTA update (By going into settings and clicking update) to get Android 11 Beta 3. The phone installed Android 11 Beta 3 without issue, and was running fine for several hours. I went to use the phone, and the power button would not turn the screen off with a power button click, 30 seconds later of it being frozen, on its own (I did not press and hold anything) It went into a G logo boot loop.
I stuck it in the fridge (Very Hot stuck in boot loop), to no avail, it kept in the boot loop until the battery was dead (It was just a flickering red battery symbol on its own) I plugged it back in, Immediately into boot loop it went...
Thanks,
~
The partitions might be messed up. Did you have any important data on that phone? And was the bootloader unlocked?
So I updated to Android 11 on Tuesday, and all seemed fine. Last night my phone was trying to install an app, and seemed to freeze.
After a few minutes, I forced it to shut-down (power + vol down) and it started to reboot. It got to the G logo with the small bottom bar animation for a number of minutes and eventually kicked back into Recovery mode.
I decided to try rebooting, and it started to reboot, got to the Google logo (the full word, not the "G"), and then kicked back into rebooting.
The phone now constantly reboots and even if I get into fastboot mode, it only stays in fastboot until I hit a key (vol up/down or power) and it then reboots into constant bootloops described above.
If I don't push a button on fastboot mode, it will just start booting anyways after about 3-5 seconds.
Does anybody know of what I could do? Not sure if replacing the battery would help (e.g. a power issue) or if it may be a corruption of the flash memory and that the system and underlying partitions are corrupt leading to nothing I could do to repair the phone.
I have really enjoyed this phone, but I am afraid that this phone is all-but-dead and unusable.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
B.D.
You can try flashing the stock rom from recovery or from fastboot.
Had something similar on an og Pixel... Turned out to be a broken power switch.
I had a weird issue last week. Phone would freeze after a couple of minutes and would reboot. It would also boot loop while connected for charging (wireless and corded.). The battery would not charge. I would shut down the phone and when I plugged in the charger, it would boot loop. The battery finally discharged to 0% and shut off. I plugged the charger in and it remained off. I let it charge to 100% and it's been working for the past week without issue. I'm not sure what happened.
I would suggest letting the battery drain to 0% and go from there. HTH
I updated my 3XL to Android 11 two days ago and since then I have caught it rebooting at seemingly random times, though only when it is on the wireless charger. I guess it's back to Android 10 for now. Hopefully reverting a Pixel is as easy as it was on the Nexus. Thanks Google.

Are you familiar with how to use commands in platform-tools to flash stock images? How did you upgrade? OTA? Are you rooted? Is it unlocked or Verizon variant? If unlocked, do you know how to unlock the bootloader?

I am proficient in using the bootloader. Phone has been bootloader unlocked since day one.
I upgraded to Android 11 with ota and all was good for a day (rooted with Magisk canary). Then the phone started acting up, first not booting system and then bootlooping.
I can get into the bootloader (fastboot) but only for maximum 3-5 seconds before the phone reboots, or if I hit any button (vol up/down) the phone reboots. Also, if connected to my computer the USB does not recognize fastboot anymore (before it reboots anyways)
I think it's dead, Jim.
