I was curious if anybody happens to know if its possible to disable automatic landscape mode when connected with the tv out cable.
I use my tv out option mostly when hosting poker games. Great for using Poker Clock blind timer app displayed to a tv. I also like using the new Slacker radio app. However that and other apps have lack of good landscape support making it difficult to use the tv out option with some programs.
I looked with no luck through the registry.
Anybody??
I have found a registry tweak that works perfectly for me in tv out mode!
1) Change your registry to enable screen rotation:
HKLM - System - GDI - Rotation - HideOrientationUI (Change from 1 to 0)
2) Then, simply map your phone button long press to the rotation tweak:
Settings -> Buttons -> Map with <Rotate Screen>
3) When you would like to rotate your screen, just hold your Phone button.

Hey Guys! Well here my situation. I really like this phone and it's features and would buy it in a heartbeat IF the accessibility settings could accommodate me.
I am visually impaired and was wondering what the accessibility settings are for the visually impaired? On the iphone there's this setting for "white on black" which makes the background for the apps black and the font white. Others call it night mode? I need background to be black and fonts white on the web browser. If you guys could check on the for me it would be nice. Thanks.
Android has some Talkback functionality (not sure what that is) and large font options, but I did not see any reverse colors option sadly. If you need it for all apps, then that might be tough to find, but maybe there are some web browsers or somesuch that support this.
Hi all, i seem to be having a problem with some apps (meetme and twc tv apps) switching to Portrait/landscape mode and making the screen resolution wrong (too stretched out) this has only started happening since the 5.2.6.0 Update. My question is, was that some new setting added to change this or disable it some how?
try using this free app from playstore it will stop anything rotating

Hi, is there any way through ABD to change the settings on the FireTV to disable HDR? You can set it to HDR always on and ADAPTIVE HDR, but no way to actually disable it within the standard settings/menu's.
On many TV's the FireTV enables HDR and it looks DIRE, all washed out etc. It's a big problem that no one can get a reply ion from Amazon.
Anyone?
thanks
Tess
I've used ABD before to change screensaver settings
When you use 'dark mode' your Google apps are dark.
However, many other apps will not.
Attached is a simple Magisk module which 'forces' dark mode at boot time.
This will turn SOME apps which are in light mode into dark mode (if they do not have a dark mode themselves).
Your mileage will vary ... it will work for SOME apps, but not for ALL !!!
For example, my 3 banking (normally all 'white') are nicely turned into darkish grey.
Also the authenticator which I use to sign in into government websites is nicely turned into dark.
Microsoft 2FA authenticator is also turned into dark (normally white).
Strava app - for example - does not turn into dark.
If you like dark mode, give it a try and see if it works on your non-dark apps.
What does this module do? Well, very simple, it sets the following property to 'true'.
Code:
/system/bin/toolbox setprop debug.hwui.force_dark true
This has the same effect as enabling the 'Override force-dark' mode in developer options.
The disadvantage of the developer options is that it is (a) manual and (b) does not 'stick' after reboot.
Try ... and post please if it works on your apps (ideally with a screenshot).
If you're scared of the module, the go to developer settings and turn on 'Override force-dark'. Then check your app.
If you uninstall the module, you're back to 'normal' as well (no harm done).
This is great. Thanks. Want to confirm if this module will work on the Pixel 6 (non-Pro) too?
Edit: It does work on the Pixel 6.

Attached an example from an app called 'Obsidentify' (see screenshots).
Great mod
The reason force dark is a developer option is because it works very badly. The aosp messaging application, for example, makes text illegible if force dark is enabled.
Or you can use the DarQ app. It forces dark mode on a PER app basis. It works with root and without. It works with A11 and A12 fyi. Been rocking it for a couple years.

Sadly, it doesn't work on MIUI 13 (Android 12)

I've been using DarQ since the first release. A godsend. Only issue is that it fails on some apps and it simply cannot turn forced dark mode on for those apps ever because it sometimes cannot have the hook over the launch of those apps. I see the difference because OnePlus' own app dark mode feature works flawlessly on those apps.
I wanted to report a bug. In the camera app the ui takes on wrong colors, for example the menu to turn on the flash. Or the photo grid.
Also in google photos some photos in the gallery appear with wrong colors.
