[ROM] ColorOS 2.0.8 STABLE KITKAT FIND7/7A lite edition R3

I will keep this ROM updated, always help when I can, and open to suggestions that users may want implemented into the ROM. My goal is to keep the ROM Clean, Stable, with great performance without compromising battery life.
This ROM has had the following MODS
UNIFIED IS HERE! see post #2
Improved GPS
Ad blocking hosts file.
Super SU - FULL ROOT! Remember to grant andriod system root access on first boot!
Build prop mods
420 DPI - (sorry QHD users)
Thanks to Tantrums.
It does NOT flash recovery. So if you have TWRP 2.8.6.0 then it won't get replaced with OPPO recovery.

First of all download the ROM here and save it to your SD card
If you have stock recovery you will need to go into fastboot mode (hold power + vol up until the phone vibrates)
With you phone in fastboot boot and connected to USB (make sure you have installed oppo drivers) flash the TWRP img file.
Reboot the phone into recovery (Pwr + vol down)
In recovery select advanced wipe select everything except internal and external storage.
Then go to install and select the rom you have downloaded.
Enjoy.
I have found this to be a very stable/fast ROM with very few problems.

Updating from ColorOS 2.0.7i Beta you'll find following changes:-

My plan is to try and keep the ROM slim, fast and stable.
I know it's similar to Tantrums ROM, but I am new to ROM building and am taking one step at a time.

How is the battery life on this.. ?
And what will the mods do for your phone contra if the werent there.. ?

Nice to see a post here, sniperjoe. I love your approach. Thanks for removing google bloat. I had to uninstall them everytime i wanted to try colorOs! Good job!

Battery life has improved a bit, but there is more free RAM available and less processes running in the background.
Here are the tweaks I have included.

Im sorry if i am being annoying its just that i had this 2,0,3 beta from oppo, and i liked how it looked but it drained my battery like crazy.. ?
Can you please upload some screenshot.. ? were we can se ram usage and battery maybe.. ?
I really wanna try this but i just had som major problems on the normal 2.0.3 so i dont wanna do it right away

No it has not been repaired. It's not a bug.
The only way to fix this is to change your launcher.
If people want it I will create a goggle now launcher version.

Yes i saw that, so i hope there isn't a problem here just did advance wipe and flashing it now i will be over in a sec..
EDIT:
It flashed perfect so far everything is fine no problems what so ever, however if i should point out one thing, it uses around 1gig of ram now, on my old 1.2.6i were i had deleted some stock apps it used about 790 - 810
So i used a bit more ram, i guess that the normal 2.0.3 uses even more..

Yeah, oppo's apps are a bit bigger, I was going to take them out of the image, but then there is no point on having ColorOS if I do that.
I would recommend to all users to uninstall unused apps. (for example oppo music eats ram) You might need rom toolbox app to help you with this.

Hello, rom is very smooth and clean but most important thing, double tap to wake doesnt work. Can you fix that? I assume its a kernel issue because it wasnt working in your aicp rom too. It works on carbon rom

I fixed it with Kernel Adiutor

After 2 days of usage, so far this is the best rom for z3. Everything works perfectly, without issues. Battery performance is great, SOT is now 4hours 35 minutes at %5 battery. There are also extra nice features which other roms don't have, like "what I'm listening". Such a great rom.. I'm surprised nobody write anything here. Thank you @raschad for this rom, hope you will update it frequently

For now this Rom ia the best, but any some issue..
1. Hotspot cannot active on 2,4Ghz and 5Ghz
2. GPS slowly for lock location
3. Video record 1080p result is buffering
4. No Bluetooth icon in statusbar
My experience for some feature you can install opengapps stock...

Yes, it gives an error on ringtone and notification change but there's a workaround for that. Install mixplorer or any other file manager and when the phone asks which app to use while changing ringtone, select mixplorer, give root access to mixplorer and navigate to system-media-audio and choose which ringtone/notification you want.
No problems with GPS for me, it finds and locks satellites in 2 seconds.
Camera has an issue with 1080p. I flashed stock Sony camera app through magisk, and I don't have problems with it. If anyone interested, contact me.
Hopefully in the next builds this little bugs can be fixed

Yes, that is for input developer, for gps im fox with faster gps, and camera im fix with install opengaps stock, and for sound notification im fix with mixplorer, and only hotspot cannot enable...

I tested on Pixel Experience Pie for Xperia Z3 ROM and work for me. Ah! You need wait several minutes to signal appear...

Bugs that I have been found:
Doesn't Work:
Wi-Fi Hotspot.
NFC
Audio/Notification Picker
Offline Charging (This is a normal bug in Xperia Z3 custom roms).
Works partially
Double tap (You need use Kernel Adiutor or some app like that for enable Tap2Wake).
Active Display (Sometimes only show the clock).
1080p Video recording (Have some lacks).
Anyway, I need to test the ROM for a longer time, I just installed it a couple of hours ago.

Rom is excellent but official picture gallery app is missing, have to use Google photos but Bluetooth sign is also missing from status bar even when you turn on bluetooth and missing battery percentage too.
Was using carbon pie 9.0 rom first before flashing this rom. The plus point of this rom and differentiate it from carbon rom is color calibration feature in display section where we can set the RGB Ballance just like Sony's stock Roms. Wow I like it a lot. And now I am fan of this Rom. Specially battery timing is excellent.

yes. twrp is needed, you can give it a try, but do backup first, remove magisk and all modules. but recommended is clean flash.

So far so good everything works like a charm but battery cant last whole day
On 4.4 kernel i can archive 2 day straight without charging, on the same battery unit now

So I've testing ever since and THERE'S HUGE BUG
gyroscope isn't working properly, auto rotate works fine (magnetic sensor)
But when i play games with gyro uses such as PUBG it drift away so hard
Perhaps its caused by broken persist.img ?
Or it caused by the rom itself?
Btw has anyone tried custom kernel in this rom? Core control kinda fu*ked up it closes core 3 even when thermal protection disabled

I did check gyroscope, its working fine. You can see attached pic. but i dont pubg. I have used various custom roms. i usuallly get 5.30 to 6.30 hrs SOT in customs roms. but in miui roms, mostly i got 5hrs of SOT. but just of camera and stuff, i am using miui. As portrait mode and camera optimization is best in MIUI.
No custom kernel i have tried yet.

I guess so, maybe its Pubg related problem.
Btw for core problem, i use AKT tweak and it solved
Using battery saving mode from AKT give me futher SOT and insane idle time. Highly recommended
And lastly, it seems a lot of apps not being optimized (doze), can be fix by install hidden miui settings app and manually optimize those apps

On the previous version, yes there is that setting. After upgraded to 9.9.26, it is disappeared.

you can manually do it by
root explorer (you need to modify system file)
1. Go to /system/build.prop and add qemu.hw.mainkeys=0

I am having fingerprint issues,After registering fingerprint is just not registering.

Register the same finger for more than 2 times.

Here is Bug List in AEX rom..
1. Fingerprint is buggy, slow and sometimes overlay disappears only to show up after reboot.
2. Under display Proximity Sensor keeps blinking randomly.
3. Auto Brightness also responds to color/tone of current screen. eg. even in dark, if we open a bright wallpaper, brightness is automatically increased.. Idealy Autobrghtness should respond only to intensity light outside not intensity of display.
4. If you put dual sim, then Data traffic indicators is hidden due to limited space on status bar.
5. Camera focus is not good. App like Gpay and shareit, camera cant focus on QR code.
6. Music apps freezes in notification panel after using for few seconds, so after 10-15 second, you cant play or operate next song from notification panel.
7. VoLTE icon in status bar is very large and it occupies to much space, special in dual sim use.
These are few bugs which we hope will be fixed in subsequent built.
AEX is best Custom ROM currently availble for Realme X. With few improvement, it can be used as daily driver.

Overall the Rom is Very much Good and a bit stable too. I want to thank the developer for his Huge Work. There are some minor Bugs and issues i have found using it from the day it has released.
The issues are :-
1. Blink Spot issue
2. Finger Print Recognition Issue
3. Some times the Navigation keys Lag ( Specially while playing PUBG )
4. Screen Smootheness is Not that good
I am really Thankful for your work and Hope You Try to fix the issues in the next update.

How's the status bar icons ? Are the icons cut by corners (battery, time etc) or are they aligned?

Clean flash please, you don't have to wipe internal storage if you do that btw.

Ok clean flash done! Everything seems to be working great!
Everything is fast and smooth! I have not spend enough time for now to see if there is any unusual battery drain.
There is only one minor thing: I can't activate gesture navigation and disable hardware keys (I got used to it with the previous Pixel Experiment version ) Is there something I am missing here ? or should I just be patient and maybe hope for it in a future release ?

I noticed that isn't present also in Pixel Experience Android 11. Maybe it's a feature not implemented yet and we should wait. Because the Android 10 versions worked fine.

Being lazy I tried dirty flashing over YAAP since they come from the same family tree. All worked well and things are looking great. If I find something odd, I'll do a clean flash.

Face unlock works like a charm!

Are you people trying to Kill XDA (that actually enabled all this) by posting only on Telegram?

Everything seems to work fine, as in rock solid. Ive enabled Face unlock and have a couple of feature request for upcoming builds. Assistive light for Face un-lock, and while you're at it, traffic indicator in taskbar (plenty apps for it just a nice to have) and lastly, I like battery to show % in taskbar without the Icon (text only).
This is Like OOS 10.0.1 BUT MUCH BETTER

1) Is there a recent app menu like Oreo and previous versions?
2) Is there a smartbar navbar option within the navigation buttons
3) Will the two features I mentioned above be added in future versions even if they are not now?

If your phone is encrypted wipe everything then on orangefox recovery click on format data option, format and flash

Ok thanks, do I need to flash no_verity_op5.zip also ? I am on TWRP recovery do I need to change for orangefox ?

I decided to do a clean install (dirtyflashed over YAAP before with everything working) just to make sure there was no issues with settings.
Two things came up after restoring all apps.
Android Auto has gone missing, it's installed on the phone but does not show up in the launcher (Nova or Pixel) I actually downloaded again from apk mirror and reinstalled but no difference.
Also, Nova no longer finds backups on the device storage? It does find backups on document storage.
All and any suggestions would be welcome, both of the above issues where not present after dirtyflash over YAAP???

Android auto is supposed to be in settings > connection preferences > Android Auto

Everything is fast and smooth! I have not spend enough time for now to see if there is any unusual battery drain.
There is only one minor thing: I can't activate gesture navigation and disable hardware keys (I got used to it with the previous Pixel Experiment version ) Is there something I am missing here ? or should I just be patient and maybe hope for it in a future release ?
