Hello!
I need to recover a mp4 deleted from bin from phone memory (so... not in sd) , the recoevry softwre ask me to root the phone to access at the full scan, normal scan doesn't found the deleted video.
Anybody knows if after the rooting (i will follow the guide with magisk) i can recover the file or the wipe and the reinstallation of the OS will corrupt the "clusters" where my VERY IMPORTANT are?
Maybe the answer is... no , or anybody know another way without rooting the phone?
Thanks!
I don't think you'll be able to recover it, sorry.

I had been searching and googling spending all night awake but couldnt find a "modest" way to restore the deleted files from internal memory of my ZL. I found threads asking the same thing and this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994705 but its for galaxy phones, despite being for other phone I guess that process could work but its pretty difficult to me to understand all.
Is there a easiest way?
I had tried hexamob recovery, DiskDigger and others apps but it was a failure. I need to recover photo files, .txs, specific .xmls, ect. I need to recover smsbackup&restore files and notes files from colornote dating from 2011
Its 2014 and cant believe yet there is no easy way (those software like android file recovery, android data recovery, etc etc are useless since they cant detect phone´s internal memory.)

flash clockwork recovery , if you dont knows how to flash cwm recovery, rply me your cell information, but if you knows how to flash clockwork recovery then, then in clockwork recovery, mount your internal storage to the pc, mounting will create your internal storage drive in pc not a syncronous device, then use data recovery softwares, download from here http://kickass.to/power-data-recovery-v4-6-0-crack-rezman1984-7z-t2155009.html , then install data recovery software and install the crack, then open recovery softare, then choose your internal storage drive, choose deep scan process, it will deeply scan your internal storage, and try to recover all the files from the day of manufacture, hope you will get your data back ! rply me if you dont knows how to flash clockwork data recovery i will guide you, and rply yours cell os's information also, hit thanks button if i had helped you, i am new in xda developers and want to become senior member !

using my above method, you can recover your media files and i guess .xmls also, but no sms and no contact !
I could recover some of the files that I wanted thanks to a very old backup I found in my pc. It wasnt all the updated info I wanted but at least I recovered something. So I get what I got and already give up with that xP. Its a shame about the pictures because those are pics of a Filippa Giordano concert xP. My problem right know its I dont have time because Im taking school tests :/ but the info you gave me sounds good, in theory it may work. I know how to flash clockmood recovery in HTC but I guess is pretty much similar the process with Xperia, If I got time I´ll give it a try, thanks for this info and I hope ppl who are in the same problem could read this and give it a try.

I guess that works only for external memory, not internal (I havent try it). Anyway thanks.

I don’t know why you people are making it so complicated when we easily all the deleted data from the internal memory using Remo Recover Android. Give a try…

Yes, it is possible to recover deleted internal files, see this solution: recover files from internal memory
good luck.
Hello everbody,
I've done a big mistake ... I've unlocked my boot loader but forgot to backup my data. Well, the config files for the few apps aren't the problem, it's more that the videos and pictures are gone now.
I've searched the forum and found this guide here. I did everything which was written down there expect that I used Linux to get my dump of the internal storage.
Well, now I'm sitting here with the dump (around 16GB) and tested tools like photorec and Recuva but nothing seems to help. The only files I'm able to see are the latest PNG and JPG Files. No older stuff which are gone due to the bootloader unlock
The bootloader unlock itself ran round about 2 or 3 minutes. Within this time (due to my technical knowledge) it's impossible to wipe or destroy the internal storage that hard that no files are found anymore. I mean if the internal storage would be filled up with zeros I would understand that, but it only has taken 2 or 3 minutes to unlock the bootloader so the zeros fill up just could never happen in my point of view.
Can anybody please me out here? I have read so much posts about the success of the people after they started the recovery immediately after this bootloader unlock wipe that I just don't get it why I just get nothing out of it ...
Greetings
Crounus
I have unfortunately lost more than 10 GB of data which was stored on internal memory of my Note 10.1 2014 LTE, deleted somehow, and I'm not sure what has caused that (I'm suspicious of Clean Master app though). Hopefully I have backup of most of that data, but desperately tried to recover the rest, to no avail. Searched for and tried some recovery tools and apps, but apparently all of them need root access to my device. My device is not rooted and I have not yet done so. Browsing this forum I learned some about rooting and other related things, thanks to all who share their valuable knowledge here, and below are a couple of questions:
(Considering all I need is recovering deleted files from internal memory) is there someway to perform a recovery on internal storage using Download or Recovery modes (those accessed by unlock+volume+home keys), by a recovery tool installed on a PC, without the need to root the device? Does those modes in anyway make it possible to have access to internal storage as a USB mass storage like old versions of android (perhaps using Odin or any other tool)?
If the only way is rooting the device, would you please introduce the safest way to do so, without losing the currently installed apps and their data and settings. I found many threads in this forum introducing different ways to root, but I'm a novice and can't choose the proper way, need more help. My device specs are as follows:
SM-P605
android 4.4.2
Build number: KOT49H.P605ZSUCOD1
Your early reply would by highly appreciated.
p.s. Does any one know if Clean Master app creates a log file of what it does? and its path?

Nope you need to root the device. Here is the info, pretty easy and you could go back to your none rooted without issue

Hey, I already asked that in another thread, but not in this particular sub-Forum.
Whats my Problem:
Mobile Phone does nothing
keypresses dont work (power button)
Odin cant detect the phone
usb-jig cant trigger a start
What i did:
Installing Lollipop
It said: Encryption unsuccessful.
I downloaded a zip which changes the file System. (Cant remember which one, but i read on another site that i would Need it)
So this Programm formatted the drive.
-->The phone seems to be completly dead after a reboot.
I guess the Format Change just corrupted or deleted all data.
So, is there a way to repair it?
Thx
Hey all,
as I was backing up files from my phone (internal storage full, 500MB to go) via USB, and after I'd done a bunch of PDFs and what not, I wanted to start moving videos / photos. That failed instantly and after that, EVERY SINGLE IMAGE / VIDEO file was gone from the phone. I installed three "recovery" apps - they couldn't find a thing. I have a bunch of family stuff I really, really would like to have back.
I downloaded the MIUI unlocking tool and wanted to 'get going' with rooting, but I'm getting a "Unlock will erase user data" notification, for if I continue. This does not seem what I want.
- Can I continue without definitely trashing any hope of recovering files?
- Is there another way to get to files that magically disappeared (no Sync on, no OneDrive auto-backup, no nothing at all) that do not required root, and/or ...
- Is this a "known" problem? I cannot seem to find anything.
Many, many, many thanks......
As MIUI Unlocking tool says, it will delete all the data on the phone.
Whelp, this is happening. I'll give it a go before I can't get the files...
I have to wait 2 weeks for the MIUI tool to allow unlocking the bootloader. So I guess at this point I'd mostly like to know if the Mysterious Case of the Disappearing Files is something that's more common on the Redmi Note 5 - or on Android 8.1 / MIUI? I'd like to assure the reader at this point that, while threads like these are a dime a dozen and it often boils down to user error, I'm not a complete nitwit and assure you I was doing nothing other than Ctrl-X -> Ctrl-V to harddrive, got an error message, 40GB were magically freed up on internal storage and ALL files were gone. All of it. Folders too.
Updating thread title, hope that's okay..
Realistically, considering different "undelete" / "recovery" apps are not finding ANYTHING!!! at all, how likely is it even that something will be found once the device has been rooted? This almost seems like it had a system reset while it was still enabled...... Just everything gone / re-encrypted / whatever. Is that even possible? Again, though, the device DID NOT reboot. The files were there......then 40GB was gone.
It is possible to recover the data but the process will require root permissions. Install Disk digger pro from playstore. And give root permissions it can easily recover the most of the photos ( May recover all but possibilities are less ) Give a try bro it will definitely help you. As it helped me before.
I had something similar back when I had Redmi Note 3. Files just disappeared when I put them inside obb folder. However, they reappeared when I entered the recovery (it was custom) and I copyed them via cable onto my pc. They weren't there when I connected normally turned on phone to the pc, and it was annoying. So whatever you are doing, don't format your phone, otherwise you'll lose the files forever.
If rooting and installing an app to recover the files won't help, I suggest you flashing twrp and trying to find them from there using the cable and a pc, or whatever.
Thanks. It's a shame I'm finally "getting in to" rooting only now, now that I have a problem. When I tried many years ago I felt it was too complicated and most of all risky....
The main problem I have with rooting is that the Mi Unlock Tool wishes to Reset the phone, re-encrypting it in the process, and destroying any hope of recovering data. I intend to flash OrangeFox before it can reset.... Does anyone have a better idea....? It's really very, very much appreciated!
