Please post radio issues (and fixes) here - OnePlus 8 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

**EDIT**
Forgot the random outgoing call issue.
Since getting my OP8P, it doesn't seem like any of the radio issues have really been satisfactorily addressed. I'm not sure if there is anything that can be done on our end to fix them, but I figured I'd create a thread to track them, and fix them if possible.
Please include your carrier, or any other differentiating factors:
MMS issues (T-Mobile): MMS messages do not come in reliably or at all with wifi enabled. SMS and RCS messages are not affected.
Fix: (Workaround) Disable VoWifi, which doesn't seem to work on as many APs as the OP7P and prior did. If that doesn't work, turn off wifi altogether to allow messages to send/receive.
--------------------------------------------------------
Wifi calling issues (T-Mobile): Wifi calling will not stay activated. Icon appears for about 30 seconds after turning on wifi. Also seems to be affecting MMS messages not sending/receiving when connected to WiFi, and potentially outgoing calls not going through reliably.
Fix: (Workaround) Possibly affected by APs that allow TKIP encryption method. Reports of only allowing AES/CMAK helping. TKIP has known vulnerabilities, but older devices may still require it be enabled.
--------------------------------------------------------
Wifi connection issues: Wifi seems to go dead 1-3 times a day. Wireless still shows a strong connection, but no data actually passes (SMS still works).
Fix: (Workaround) toggle wifi
--------------------------------------------------------
Poor 5G performance (T-Mobile): While this could be a T-Mobile issue, as they seem to have turned on 5G over most of our area using UHF bands (300mhz to 3ghz), performance is pretty choppy. Uploads seem to be more negatively affected, with speeds less than 1mbps at times. Download speeds can be up to LTE speeds, but often are not, and are almost always jumpy and not smooth during speed tests.
Potential fix: Disable 5G under: SIM & network settings > Preferred network type
--------------------------------------------------------
Occasion outbound call issue: Sometimes making an outgoing call takes 2 or 3 tries. I can't remember the error, off the top of my head, but it's something like "service not available".
--------------------------------------------------------
Can ONLY receive MMS on WiFi calling not on mobile data, SMS not affected. (details here)
Fix: use 3rd party SMS app, revoke all permissions from stock app, disable stock app

You can disable 5G in the SIM and Network settings ??*

With my old phone if I disable wifi it connects to Lte instantly and I can start surfing. With my 1+ now if I disable wifi it takes about 10sec until there's Lte but I can't start surfing. I have to switch from Lte to 2g and back to get it working. Same Sim in both phones

Good grief. I have no idea how I missed that. Thanks! I'll test and update the thread if LTE performance seems better than 5G. This very well could be a T-Mobile thing, since they just recently turned it on in my area.

I have noticed the exact same thing. I'm not sure why it takes so long... especially with dual-channel network acceleration enabled (and the fact that VoLTE is established before I shut wifi off).

My wife and I have similar problems with mobile data and wifi both occasionally showing strong signals but requiring a toggle off and back on before data passage resumes. Both OP8P and OP8. Verizon for carrier.

Well, I guess it's good to know it's happening on Verizon too?
Seriously, this needs to be fixed. If it was just one carrier, I could see it getting out the door. But more than one (very different kinds) of carriers is pretty ridiculous.

Issue: can ONLY receive MMS on WiFi calling not on mobile data, SMS not effected.
More details in my thread here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-8-pro/help/receive-mms-wifi-calling-tmobile-t4088673
Fix: use 3rd party SMS app, revoke all permissions from stock app, disable stock app

Updated OP.

I've found that disabling Voice over Wifi altogether seems to help with the MMS while on wifi issues. I still get a few that don't go through and have to shut off wifi altogether, but it's much... much better.
I'm wondering if this is also connected to my outgoing call issues. I'll be testing that also.
**EDIT**
While I still think disabling VoWiFi helps, it is still very much a crapshoot whether or not an MMS message will send or receive. Between this and the dual sim issues, I may need to see if OP will let me return this.

No idea if it's related but in comparison to EE, three is absolutely crap. Truly a horrific network, 50% of the coverage and 59% of the speed.
Have noticed that the phone aggressively tries to hand over to WiFi even when I'm not connected.
Removing 5G from the equation helps a lot, least in my instance.

Curious, how are you seeing it's trying to hand over to wifi?
I'm so upset over this stuff. It would be more tolerable if OP had some sort of official status on some of these issues. Ignoring them won't make them go away.

So it looks for WiFi constantly, also tries to switch between networks. You can disable it

Are you talking about the "Scanning always available" setting? I already have that disabled. I seem to be ok with 5G lately. Pretty sure the bad upload speeds are just due to T-Mobile working out the bugs.

Then you're fine. Don't worry about it.

I thought I'd chime in a bit with T-Mobile 5G. Minus specialized cities featuring higher frequency 5G, T-Mobile nationwide works off of the 600Mhz band, AND REQUIRES the 1900Mhz or 2100Mhz 4G LTE band to properly function at this time. So if you experience poor 4G 1900 and 2100 frequency in your area, but strong 5G, it won't work well for you, and you are better off doing 4G LTE 600mhz instead.
Call your local rep and confirm the strength for those two frequencies for you. Just thought I'd chime in about the poor 5G performance nationwide for T-Mobile for some. Nothing to do with the phone exactly.

My OnePlus 8Pro sometimes disconnects several times a day the radio conection. It's hapend with LTE on Telekom. 5G is not available yet. It's happend also in places where I have very good LTE network coverage.
Restart the cell phone is the only option to reconnect.
Switching OFF/ON the Airplane-Mode, reset network settings or a Full Wipe bring no improvement.
I have already replaced the SIM card against a new one by my network provider (Telekom) to rule out a defect.
I also have no problems with my previous device.
So I'm currently using my old device in parallel with a Multi-Sim.
A network fault therefore can be ruled out 100%.
The latest software version has also been installed.
The crash normally occurs while surfing the LTE network and is noticeable that the Internet is unexpectedly no longer working. The Radio display on the phone show me a few minutes more that i have still connection to LTE and than it jump to "no network" as already described, "ONLY" restarting the device allows to log in to the network again.
It was also tried with intelligent network connection or two-channel download acceleration on and off.
With WiFi the internet works continuously.
The Device runs with Stock-Rom.
I also have contacted the OnePlus Support, but maybe someone here has a solution for me.
Many Thanks

That is crazy. I think they may have fixed the wifi disconnects for me with the latest OTA, but when I did get them, toggling wifi worked for me. I never had to reboot over it. Your case definitely seems worse. Hopefully you don't have a hardware issue.

I have exactly the same issue with the same carrier (Telekom Germany) with 2 SIM cards tested. Gotten worse with the 10.5.9 so I rolled back to 10.5.8 where the issue isn't happening that often. I haven't got this issue when enabling data on my secondary SIM (O2 Germany). I have also tested the new Android 11 beta where I got shortly disconnected from the mobile network and then the LTE+ logo changed to "g" and everything was fine again. The phone was still connected to LTE with full DL speed (did the whole initialisation with mobile data + 20gb music download). However the beta is not usable at this stage. Since I have an unlimited data plan on that Telekom Sim I cloud test the **** out of it and it seems that the disconnect happens when the phone tries to change or adds the cell connection while using data. I have sent OP the required logs and after that they ignored me.. hope they going to fix this as it seems to be a software/compatibility issue with that certain carrier. Also 10.5.9 isn't really coming to German devices with ota so they might know about that issues.

Thanks for the feedback.
That the Problem with 10.5.9 got worse i can confirm. I loaded this Version in Germany by using the Oxygen Updater. But that gives hope to me that it is really just a software issue and no defekt on the device. So I will not send the device to OP for an unnecessary repair in the hope that there will be fixd with an update soon.
On the Facebook Oneplus page I have already heard from some people they have exactly the same problem, all of them use the German Telekom network.
Hopefully you get right, with that presumption, that 10.5.9 isn't really coming on German devices because they know the problem. So the fix will come very fast.

You guys haven't heard any buzz about 10.5.10 yet? I'm on 10.5.10 in the US, which I feel has been a lot more stable than the previous two versions (which had alternating issues for me).
The biggest issue affecting me remains the issues sending MMS while on wifi.

Data connection keeps randomly not working?

It seems random when the data connection works and the internet works on my phone. I'll sit there with full 3G signal and i get "cannot find the DNS Server" error when trying to load webpages :S
is this a problem with my Samsung Omnia 7, Windows Phone 7 or my network (Orange UK)?
I have this problem on my HD7 as well. If I have a 3G connection, it doesn't work. It only works on H (HSDPA).
Funnily enough, I had the same issue with my HD2 running WM6.5, which makes me wonder if WP7 is using the same comms drivers.
I have this problem too! A LOT everyday in diferent locations.
Actually how can I enable the HSDPA on my HD7? Because I can only get 3G.
These are just network errors.
I use internet alot and it happens on every device I had.
My WP7 is actually pretty stable in this regard.
Same! Never works on 3g only ever H you sure its just network errors cause it happens alot
YES this is a major problem for me with my Omnia 7, I even got a replacement phone from my carrier (Optus Australia) because of it... and it's exactly the same. It's extremely frustrating and makes the phone damn near unusable. Happens on every device? what a load of rubbish, if I put the SIM in my old iPhone 3GS it works FLAWLESSLY. I don't know what I'm going to do.

Yep, I have the same problem with my Omnia 7.
On all 3 of the networks i've used it on, T-Mobile, Virgin and GiffGaff.
Only solution is to reboot the phone.
I thing i've noticed, is it seems to happen when I move from an area where I have WiFi access (Home/Work/Cafe) to an area where i'm using a Phone network ?
I think we can only hope that the upcoming WP7 update fixes this. Also it seems enabling airplane mode then disabling it also fixes it in a similar way to rebooting the phone.

Im having the same issue with my HD7. Only EVER works on H. Not on G or 3G. It's driving me insane. The exact same sim on the same provider never had an issue on my Touch Pro 2, but this phone is shocking for internet
I get this occasionally on my HD7. Not really an issue right now. It does get annoying sometimes when the wifi in my house isnt strong enough to connect

You do realize that phones switch to H only while they are actively swapping data, then fall back to 3G while dormant, to save battery?
Try it - leave your phone alone for a bit and it will switch from H to 3G. Now access something on the net and it will switch to H (if possible) to get the data, then after a few seconds of inaction it will switch back to 3G.
So yes, it is correct that it only ever works on H!
Mind you, it would be nice if it worked on G too, I'm sure it should but mine never does.
hm i thought the " H " means that i dont get 3G signal.
but i think i had the same problem!
solution:
you only need to turn OFF WIFI
somehow its not using 3G when wifi networks are close,
even if you not connected to one.
turn OFF wifi or maybe only "discover new networks"
turning OFF wifi always brings me 3G back ...
Just to add my experience here...
I have a Samsung Omnia 7 and had never experienced any issues with 3G/H data/internet issues on the 3 network in the UK.
However, I've come over to Australia to visit the folks and have put in a Virgin SIM, now I really struggle with this. The connection just isn't working even with full 3G signal.
As pointed out, toggling my Airplane Mode works most of the time - I guess this is because the phone re-registers itself with the network when you enable>disable airplane mode (just like it would if you rebooted it). Curiously toggling the data connection option seems to have no effect.
Pain in the a*se.
I had connectivity issues with my Samsung Omnia 7. I worked out that my phone was not playing nice with my router and so my wifi connected but didn't actually work.
Also, I found that 3G performance was sub-par and many apps timed out because they were taking so long to get connection.
I solved these problems by flashing a new firmware. It was a little tricky and it is potentially risky, but a quick google will lead you to the relevant information.
I used a European firmware (I am in Australia on Optus), but it works fine. I just had to change all the language settings.
Now my phone's 3G and WiFi connections both work a lot faster (no more waiting for an eternity for the marketplace to open for example).
I have the same problem and read on create.msdn.com it has something to do with how wp7 handles the connections.
If the provider cuts off the connection frequently it loses its 3g signal or something like that. Thats why my push notifications are just unreliable. If I take my sim out and use wifi only. It just works and keeps working as soon as I connect to wifi. When 3g comes into play and the carrier cuts me off because im not actively using, the phone struggles to recconect for push etc.

Missed calls not showing, and late SMS

I'm having issues when on WiFi and LTE Enabled, the phone does not get any phonecalls, missed phonecalls do not show and SMS arrive late (my carrier has the option to notify me missed calls, but yesterday the message got me 10 minutes after the call).
After searching, I've found out something similar happened to nexus 4-5, when WiFi is ON, LTE is ON, and the phone is in Sleep Mode but nothing on Zenfone 2. Have a friend with ZF2 that confirmed it happens sometimes but we doubt if it' s a phone issue or carrier issue.
Getting the network mode to 2G/3G seems to fix it, but it misses the LTE
try to restart the phone (?)
I reboot my phone every couple of days, but the bug sometimes appears in the phonecall right after rebooting
What messaging app are you using? I know I miss messages from my wife when I had textra in the "off" state with autostart manager. When I told it to start when the phone boots it started getting the text messages and mms's right away. Are you using a VPN or do you have weak signal and what firmware are you using?
make sure phone is allowed 2g/3g/4g all. If you restrict it to 4g only you will face such issues.

I usually reboot in the mornings. But I US Google voice so the issues never really show up.
Stock FW (was on 168, now I'm yesterday patched versopm) , Stock SMS, no VPN, and set to 2G/3G/4G
As I said, the problem is fixed when I'm on 2G/3G, but it kinda loses the point to have an LTE plan
can you test with 4g on and wifi off. What carrier are you on. Because carriers can use wifi and lte combo in case you have same carrier providing both facilities.

VZW S20 Ultra wifi calling issue?

Just curious if anyone else has had any issues with WiFi calling on their S20 variants. I have a stock S20 Ultra on Verizon. I recently noticed my wifi calling would simply just not connect at all. It was also failing on sending some text messages, problems that I surmised might have been a recent wonky app installed. I then factory-refreshed the phone from scratch, and installed from scratch, manually picking and choosing my apps to avoid the same fate. But even so, my WiFI calling is sporadic at best. Incoming calls will ring in mostly, but if I answer the call, I get no sound at all and no one can hear me. Outgoing almost never works, unless I restart the phone, then toggle wifi calling off, wait a minute, turn it back on, and then wait for the icon to display as WiFi Calling able. Then I can get one call out. I can immediately hang up and try again, any number, and it'll just sit there waiting to connect. I have only been able to test it while on my home network. I did also recently upgrade to 50m Fiber internet, though everything is routed through a Google OnHub router for wireless so I can monitor devices in the home. I'm still connecting to the same band that I was prior, and that my other phones (my S105G and S9+) have had no issues connecting and calling from. I do not have a strong enough signal inside the house for calls to connect over the network, so that's out. All other data on the phone works fine from wifi. Texts work more reliably but still suffer from the occasional Sending Error where it times out and I have to resend. Or it'll take an extra 20-30 seconds before it sends. I get the same results if I connect directly to the modem's Instead.
Are there any other suggestions on settings or checks I can look at between phone and network that anyone can think of? This only seemed to happen within the last couple months, too. When the phone was brand new, everything seemed fine.
Edit: Workaround / half solution found, post #6.
Howdy. I just got the S20+ 5G from Verizon. I noticed my mobile data connection going in and out fairly often and texts getting stuck sending. I also noticed wifi calling draining the battery. I've disabled wifi calling for now. I'm a little peeved a $1200 phone has an issue like this.
I know it's been a bunch of months, but I just wanted to follow-up with this. I haven't found a solution but I've all but ruled out the phone as the culprit. As it turns out, all the other phones suffer from the same issues. I even bought a Verizon LTE Network Extender, which has at least solved my text issue - they work reliably now. But voice calling is still a one-way street. Calls can come in, I can hear the other person all day long but nothing can be said back. Since it happens the same way on all the phones, and since it happens even with the network extender, I can only assume the issue lies somewhere either in the modem settings somewhere that I haven't found, or in the ISP backbone itself. Sadly, they're pretty worthless when it comes to tech support (and I should know - I work for them...). I've tried most things I can think of in the modem/router itself, took out my Google OnHub altogether, and still nothing. I've heard ports opened up being a common issue but for some reason, the ports that most people suggest are already showing in use and unable to be set aside. I revisit the issue every few months, but if I ever do find a solution for my case, I'll post back then.

From what you've shared the connection issues would point to your ISP. If you haven't already done so request Verizon do a reset on the fiber connection or switch to DSL if they offer it. At times a COLO, the actual distribution point closest to your home isn't properly maintained or the equipment is in need of upgrades or repair. The only other consideration might be a firmware defect. If your S20 Ultra is operating on Unlocked FW you might want to flash Verizon's latest FW to your device. ATT/Verizon are notorious for compatibility issues with non-native FW.
I actually just came back to add more confusion to my post, but I'll answer above as best as I can:
I don't have Verizon for home service, but Verizon Wireless for my cell. My S20 Ultra was purchased directly through the store, with all Verizon updates installed and current. My home internet is new 50/50 Fiber internet, which was just deployed to the area about 8-9 months ago. I was the first person on the loop to be installed, and it runs fine. I could up the speed if I wanted, but have no need for more. It's new cable from the unit in the field, up to the road, and new drop to the house and new equipment. From that standpoint, everything has been rock solid and works fine. I certainly am not letting them off the hook (or, wasn't until five minutes ago) for what might be a setting somewhere between points.
However, during some more testing, someone mentioned they had an issue with WiFi calling not working. So I did more testing with my S20 Ultra. Turns out, WiFi calling isn't even working at all on my device. I can place it in airplane mode (so it doesn't see my Network Extender), enable wifi, and no matter what I try to do, it will not recognize WiFi for calling purposes. I can enable it fine, it shows enabled, I can restart and toggle all day long. But the moment I try to make a call that way, it tells me I must turn off Airplane mode to make a call. This is in spite of the phone having wifi calling enabled, with WiFi set as the preferred call type in it's settings. This is full wifi from within feet of the router. On a whim though, I took out my SIM card and put it back in my S10 5G sitting in it's box. Calling works perfectly, on both wifi calling, and the network extender. So all that did was confuse me more.
I have an S9+ that doesn't work. I have an iPhone 11 Max that doesn't work. I have an S20 Ultra that doesn't work. But an S10 5G that does. It's the only phone I've found in the house so far that I can make or receive calls from/to, and be heard on the other end. All the other phones, connected to the same wifi and the same network extender all suffer from the same thing. At this point, I've basically hit a wall and am ready to throw in the towel. I was ready to spend another evening messing with the modem until my S10 worked perfectly. It worked on the extender fine. I put it to Airplane mode, enabled wifi calling, and within twenty seconds it registered an outgoing call to my house as a wifi call, completed, and could hear fine. A bunch of coincidences all at once. My fiber internet came with a new modem, though the same model that my regular DSL used prior - when everything worked fine. This new one is configured exactly the same, I kept the wifi configuration exactly the same as before to eliminate having to set a dozen devices back up. So I thought that change still somehow did the phones in, as it was shortly after that I realized that they weren't working right. But then the S10 connected just fine, using the same new modem and everything.
Pretty sure I just live in the bermuda triangle of befuddlement here. I'm just going to abandon trying to figure it out, and go back to just calling back anyone that tries calling, from my home phone instead.
A workaround /semi-solution has presented itself:
The reason my S10 worked was because it was connecting to the 2.4GHz radio instead of the 5GHz one (my router is set up with both configured through what is called "Total Control Wireless" where it configures both under one umbrella with the same SSID, security and password and then lets the devices pull whichever it prefers). But my S10 still had my 2.4 guest wifi in it, and connected to that without me realizing it.
By switching my S20 to Airplane mode, and connecting to my 2.4GHz guest wifi, it works. It does NOT work though, if I don't enable airplane mode. I believe this is due in part to some others I've seen posted where the Samsung phones will automatically attempt to use cellular signal regardless of wifi calling enabled or set as preferred. Noting that the preferred call type is under 'roaming' and likely not subjected to just always using it. So it sees a signal at all, be it from the extender or from even a small signal seeping through the wall, and I guess it tries to use that instead of the wifi. Airplane mode on, 2.4Ghz radio, and I can make and receive calls all day, with no issues with voice.
I still have some more to play with, like disabling the 5GHz band altogether, and so on, but for now at least, I seem to have narrowed it down. Even though this router is set up exactly as before, my guess is something in there isn't liking it. I even set up the 5GHz guest radio, which did nothing either. But for now, I at least have a workaround, even if it means having to remember to disable airplane mode when I leave the house. I think there's rules I can make for that somewhere...
Last follow-up. I don't know if this is really a solution, but for future reference:
I disabled the 5GHz radio in my modem/router. For records, it's an Arris NVG448BQ. I'm not sure what would've changed from the old modem to the new, but I guess it's possible that I didn't have both bands enabled on that one.
However, changing to strictly a 2.4 GHz radio has eliminated the issues altogether with my S20. I will be able to test the other phones later but I suspect the same thing. I don't think it's so much the phones as much as it is something somewhere in the 5 GHz side of the router, despite being unable to find any difference in the way they were set up. I even left it enabled as a separate SSID, and still nothing.
I also was able to disconnect my Network Extender (glad I spent money on that...) and thus eliminate the need to toggle airplane mode on and off. I was worried that the phone would still see a trace amount of cellular signal and prevent things from working, but I made a 30 minute test call on wi-fi calling (which now shows enabled reliably and available, no funky restarting or toggling needed), and repeated testing with sending and receiving text and SMS messages are all working as they should once again.
As far as phone-related though, I'm calling this one solved finally. I do suspect that with a better router and advanced band filtering, I could make things work somehow, but I really don't have any need to do so at this time.
Case closed.
Confirm carrier setting. Or re install carrier setting.
Go to setting / general / about.
Network must be Verizon 4G LTE. Network is good all the time.
HD Voice is activated/
Charlz0_2000 gives 2.4 GHz setting is the best solution here available.
As a follow-up to my last follow-up, and I promise after this one, I'm done. The ultimate cause of all this, was a faulty modem - which I half-suspected at times anyway as there should be no reason an S20 shouldn't be able to use the 5GHz band for Wifi calling. My Modem started completely rebooting at random a week ago, and I finally was able to get a replacement today from my ISP. As soon as I had it installed and configured, I connected to the 5GHz band with my phone and was able to make and receive calls over WiFi with no issues at all. I will keep the bands separate as I do have some smart devices that have a hard time with the "smart" umbrella that the modem defaulted to.
But just for future trouble-shooting for others with WiFi calling issues, it's worth a shot to try one band or the other specifically as a work-around.
Cheers all.

Question Mobile data interruptions on POCO F3 - is there any cure?

Hello, I tried searching on XDA and elsewhere but could not find an answer so I hoping to receive help by writing my issue here.
I have bought two POCO F3's 128GB & 256GB on Amazon & Aliexpress respectively.
They both have the same issue when using mobile data (4g) loading websites and doing voice & | video calls like FB messenger there are interruptions like for a second there is no sound or video freezes. It does not happen on wifi or other phones.
I tried resetting APN, selecting proffered network to LTE, rebooting, switching SIM slot, resetting wifi, mobile and bluetooth settings. Updated both phones to MIUI Global 12.5.1 still no luck.
Country Lithuania (EU) carrier TELE2
We really like the phones, but this is pretty annoying as we do a lot of video calls due to quarantine and what not.
Amazon suggested to replace the phone but seeing as two of them having the same issue it will most likely will not help.
Anyone experienced these issues and came up with solution?
From what u described, seems to me is a bandwidth/mobile data speed problem. Looks like is not enough bandwidth for video call to work properly. So, what is ur bandwidth provided by ISP? What mobile data plan had from ur telephony provider? Maybe ur mobile data signal is low in the place where u make the call from. It can be so many reasons for the issue u confront with, other than a problem with phone itself (a hardware/software issue).
you can also try the latest china stable firmware 12.5.4

Hi, ty for reply. That should not be an issue, reception is great and we tried it in multiple locations. Our previous devices Iphone 6s/ Poco F1 worked flawlesly with the same carier.
Here is speed test done on mobile data.
Any other ideas?
Found this thread here and I found a solution. Apparently there's an issue with network interruptions in general, especially on phone calls. This can be avoided by switching on VoLTE and WiFi-Calling. This is what I found out over time.
Here's the fun part though: Through a little bit of research this turned out to be a vodafone-problem. I am just guessing you guys will be either also on vodafone or on the corresponding bandwidth in your country.
It seems to be a bug in the F3, but also something that happens when VoLTE is not activated for your SIM card. The phone will try to use VoLTE and this connection will fail, forcing the connection to reset. It will be back in 10-20 seconds, but this is of course super annoying whenever a stable connection is needed (like phone calls...)
Enter *#*#86583#*#* (86583 = VOLTE on dialpad) on your phone. and it will give you a feedback that the carrier check has been disabled. Note that this doesn't mean that VoLTE has been disabled. Checking the network for the capability is disabled then, which makes the setting visible on the SIM card settings. Same works for VoWifi btw.
Try playing around with those settings and see if the connection drops persist. I have no logical explanation why this is happening because what I am telling you is obviously call-related - and I do realize that what you're describing is about the data connection. For me this was related however and solved my issue.
Possible solutions:
a) try to get your service provider to switch on VoLTE for you (this worked for me). You're going to need to call support for that. They will reset your SIM card in the process. Reboot your phone and be done with it.
b) If a) is not possible, deactivate VoLTE in the menu that you activated with the code above. If you're lucky, this will stop the phone from trying to get this type of connection working, even though it's not available. This is broken exception-handling on the phone's side and Xiaomi promised to fix it. They are aware of the bug (since Aug 20th btw) and promised to push a fix into the next MIUI release
c) play with the settings and try to get the phone to not use alternative protocols, just 3G and 4G, also deactivate Wifi-Calling.
Hope this information will help somebody. If all goes well, Xiaomi will fix it and this will behavior will be gone in the next release.
same issue for me with 12.5.7
data interruptions all the time and full signal loss
very disappointed with this device from the day i got it.
O thought I'm the only one facing this problem.
It's so annoying to get an interrupted connection in the middle of the game.
not only game, and calls, i have too much trouble to get throught a call.
Hello all,
i was also affected by a similar issue.
In my case the symptoms were:
On mobile data/5G some apps would be accessing the internet but others wont..
I was able to overcome this by resetting the access point settings and then applying the ones found here:
Cytamobile-Vodafone Cyprus APN Settings for Xiaomi Poco F3 GT - APN Settings
apn.how
I hope it helps...
My fix for this occasional issue is to set the phone to '3g' only in network settings, then flick it back to '5g'. It seems to be area specific for me. Very bizarre.

I have the same problem, it helps to have the settings volte and vowifi enabled. Sometimes it looks low cell signal and loosing the connection.
Has anyone return for service the device?
It looks like we still have this problem, my F3 modem is crashing every few hours especially when it switches bands, very annoying.

It really is! We need a bug bounty for this
Hey I ran into the same problem in Hungary Vodafone Poco F3, 14.07 MIUI
4g net is working flawlessly but
Network connection is lost when start dialing
Nobody can reach me on phone
Enter *#*#86583#*#* (86583 = VOLTE on dialpad)
VoLTE select option turn on/off
Enter *#*#869434#*#*
VoWiFi select option turn on/off
I tried to switch on/off both but no solution just yet
sby has answer for this?
Where should I post this problem to be solved?
I also have this problem and I am from Iran. My mobile ROM is the global version. It seems that this problem is caused by the Poco F3 mobile hardware itself. If anyone finds a solution, please let me know, thanks.

Question WiFi problems - Do others see them too?

Hello Folks,
In summary, the WiFi stack on OnePlus 11 is quite unstable compared to other smartphones (that are also based on Qualcomm SoC with built-in modems).
First off, I've two 802.11 AC (WiFi 5) routers. Compared to my Asus (ROG 5) and Motorola (Moto G 5G Plus) phones, I've noticed that my new OnePlus has better reception for both mobile and WiFi networks. E.g., at the same location where ASUS has say -30db signal, OnePlus 11 shows -27 or -28db. So performance wise, it's fantastic, however, stability of WiFi connectivity is subpar. Between performance and stability, obviously I always prefer stability. I've up-to-date OnePlus 11 CPH2449 device (CPH2449_11_A.08).
I've been using the phone for about 5 days & these are the three distinctive WiFi problems with OnePlus 11 that I've observed in that duration:
1. WiFi dieing silently:
I've seen many times that all of a sudden the WiFi symbol will disappear. Then checking the status of the connectivity will show that it had silently dropped/died. Sometimes, it'll reconnect on its own within 10 odd seconds. When it doesn't, then toggling WiFi off and then on may help. When even that doesn't help, then toggling airplane mode on and then off becomes necessary/only-way to re-establish the connection. During these episodes, the phone is barely 2 metres away from the routers with a clear/unobstructed line of sight with them. Needless to say, neither ASUS nor Moto exhibit this problem while these episodes are playing out with OnePlus 11.
2. VoWiFi dieing silently:
While operating the phone (non-phone-call situations), a number of times I've seen that the VoWiFi logo would drop and VoLTE logo would appear. Interestingly enough, within a matter of 10+ odd seconds, it'd re-establish the VoWiFi connectivity on its own.
3. WiFi not roaming efficiently:
When moving faraway from one router and close to another, it doesn't roam to the closest one, instead holding onto the furthest one. But putting the phone down for say a minute with the screen off, triggers the roaming to the closest router! WiFi assistant neither helps nor hinders this behaviour.
In short, it'd seem the whole WiFi stack is riddled with stability issues. I've done "Reset Network settings", which didn't help with those issues.
Am I the only one facing these issues?
Thanks for any help/guidance.
Wifi Issue
Anyone have wifi dropping off and reconnecting after flashing to oxygen os? I seem to keep experiencing this. Anyone have any fix?
forum.xda-developers.com
No issues with Wifi.
Just downloaded over 130GB over Wifi and ftp server on the phone without a single interruption. Took over 3 hours and no problem.
I have similar issues. My wifi will randomly drop out and then pick up again in that time sometimes it will say internet offline. I've been noticing it the last week or so when that happens.
I've escalated my problems to OnePlus support. After a number of discussions, I think we got the winner: Disabling ipv6 in my WiFi network seems to stabilise it!
I've been trying this only for the past few hours, but it's proving positive so far. Still I'd prefer to test this over at least a day or two.
I've had WiFi just stop working finds no networks. Even turning the toggle off and back on again doesn't work. But after a reboot works fine again. Mines a euro model on fw09

I've seen similar behaviour. Turning flight mode on and then off helped me on those circumstances. Mine too EU version CPH2449.
Now, if the root cause is identified and addressed, then it ought not to even regularly disconnect from WiFi in the first place, so subsequent problems like reconnection issues can be avoided then.
Disabling ipv6 has proven to be a good workaround for vastly improving my phone's WiFi stability. Of course, they need to identify and resolve the problem that's making WiFi & ipv6 incompatible though.
