Unwanted Folders #.UTSystemconfig #Fac_Sources #DTCP #Did - Xiaomi Redmi 5A Questions & Answers

There are few folders that shows after each reboot even after it is deleted.
. UTSystemConfig / .DataStorage / fac_sources / did / dtcp
Few websites said this is created by some browser or chinese app which I didn't find on my device.
I doubt if this is some kind of malware or spyware sharing information to other computer as webportal last login shows date of 1970 and few settings gets compromised along with security password.
Looking for suggestions to fix it along with app source causing this.

Samsung Apps - App Errors and solutions

Maybe we should collect Error codes...
Maybe we can prevent few updates of KONA... See Screenshot.
No idea if new... but this is...
Never seen before.
Someone find all possible Error codes in KONA ?
Best Regards
I have the same issue right now
Thank god that i am not alone in this because i was about Master resting my phone and lose all my data
I replaced my SIM card yesterday and now i can't login in my account anymore with my old one
It say Insert SIM card
I wanted to say to it you stupid it is in there
Best Regards
Edit : http://developer.bada.com/ is under maintenance !
Maybe this is why Samsung Apps on the phone is down ?!
Edit 2 : oh i think i know why all this happening....It is about the power app race
They are making the race now section of it so they suspended Samsung Apps as i guess
Hmmm.
I have short seen update blabla before and pressed ok...
I think they increase f. Security...
For instance on S8500BULA3/S8500ATLLA3 they blocked 2 Codes:
*#5239870*#
and
*#7092463*#
They not increase support or compatibility...
Best Regards
The Thing i know is that samsung knows our location by our simcard
so if the simcard operator location and your samsung apps account location do not match, you'll get this error
By the way samsungapps is not stable these days after maintenance
If after forced update some problems with Samsung Apps...
Code:
Osp\Applications\8d7uw8z551
Osp\Applications\36cbr89p8t
Delete these both folders... Kona.exe (Samsung Apps) and BDAgent...
Restart handset...
They will autorestore from this folder, from *.oap aka ZIP files:
Code:
AppEx\Sys\BDAgent
AppEx\Sys\SamsungApps
Since last crappy Update... I can see 868j8073q1_0.0.4.oap
Chai.exe

currently I'm fighting against the widespread error 'Processing Failed...' appearing when trying to login with my samsung account on the phone.
The bug has probably been generated when I restarted my wave without the SIM inserted and forgetting to disable the Mobile Tracker security option.
Now I can't download any apps from samsung app or use any service related to samsung account on the phone (like samsungdive or caster etc...)
Does someone know how to solve this error without an hard-reset? I already tried to replace the samsung app (kona) and samsung account (bori) directory in Osp folder (anyway when doing this, for some reason the OS restore the backup when rebooting). I also replaced the Authenticator app folder with no result and also tried to change the password of my account from the samsungapps website.
But I could not find where is stored on the phone the credentials of the samsung account, i found the .ini files with the mail and active sync accounts but not the samsung one to try to delete or change it...

I noticed that this happens when time is not correctly set on the phone. Check it.
Had the same issue for days now. Today I tried this: started phone without sim card, turned it off and then started again with sim card inserted. Imputed my credentials and used packet data (not Wi-Fi), and it worked
the time is correct, I try to login by using packed-data (always used wifi on wave and switching SIM and login with wifi doesn't work).
edit: just tried, also by using packed-data and 'reconfiguring' the samsung account on startup (after resetting the language and time) by removing the SIM and restarting with it doesn't work! same hated popup with the 'Processing failed' error

But you know the Emergency Backup is here:
AppEx\Sys\SamsungAccount
Try only to remove folder:
rcz4775900 (Boring)
Restart Wave... now normally autorestore...
Now you should have chance to log in... BUT use this way:
Settings->Accounts->Samsung
In theory it should work...
Problems could be...
1.
If not Original Firmware, but modified Custom...
2.
NOT start Samsung Apps first, because FORCED update of Bori... so again boring...
Samsung "improved" their Security and checked if maybe Account from wrong country... and other funny crappy database horror...
Best Regards
@adfree I've already tried it but I've retried it now, same result.. 'Processing failed' popup appear.. the firmware is the last official one for italy (LA1) and the samsung account access worked normally before the day when I restarted the phone without the SIM inserted, after that day a hundrend attempts with the same error...
anyway I never found where the samsung account credentials are stored, by removing samsungApps/samsungAccount/bdAgent/Authenticator my account is always stored somewhere into the phone because when I go to Settings->Account it is all the times at the top of the list (with written the correct associated mail-username in the second line), then when I click it, the phone asks to input username and password...
I got the same update.
Its pretty stable.
And you get the this error because,
You used a Account which is assigned with a different country from which you try to access.
I got that error in bada 1.0 also, which was a long time ago.
Just log into Samsung site using that account and change it to your current country.
That's it.

I also had this error.and I found solution
You must first sign in samsung account before upgrading samsung apps.Only as possible to use samsung apps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28216570&postcount=10
This why I wrote to remove/delete crappy Samsung Account App...
rcz4775900 (Boring)
If you start Samsung Apps it checks 3 Apps Version...
1.
Selfcheck...
8d7uw8z551 --->Kona.exe
Kona not work proper without BDAgent... so:
2.
BDAgent Version check...
36cbr89p8t --->BDAgent.exe
3.
Annoying boring Samsung Account App
rcz4775900 --->Bori.exe
So each forced update means 3 OAP/ZIP files are downloaded... and installed...
It seems very often problems after update...

I tried to delete samsungApps and samsungAccount folders with sTune, so they were restored to the default one after a restart.
Then I try to access to my samsung account in Settings without updating the two apps by opening samsung apps.. result is the same, same error popup, the only difference is that the popup has a different layout since it is the 'old' samsungAccount app..
a non sense bug it's hard to solve...
@ guari
Thanx.
Maybe different reasons for same annoying problem...
Please, which Firmware you used?
I have expirience with XXLA1 DBT...
Maybe other Firmware has other Version of Account...
We could compare... if same Version...

my firmware is S8500XXLA1/S8500ITVLA1;
my SamsungAccount (Bori) version is: 0.0.45;
my 'default' SamsungAccount (the .oap into AppEx folder) version is: 0.0.1;
notice that the problem is not started when I did the update of samsungApps or samsungAccount, but when I simply reboot the phone without the SIM inserted, before that moment I never have had any problems to login with my account on the phone (bada 1.0, 1.2 or 2.0), after that moment I could no longer login on the phone (and also can't register a new account.. the error is the same)

Help Needed: OP 5T - forgot screen lock pattern

Hi,
Somehow I managed to forget my screenlock pattern (freshly changed) on my OnePlus 5T and it seems like my enrolled fingerprints are useless now. I need some help to recover access to my phone (preferably without factory reset).
This is the current situation of my phone:
- Phone Rooted
- TWRP Custom Recovery
- USB Debugging enabled
- WiFi On/Data and GPS OFF
- Currently logged in with my google account on the phone, but can't access it over the google account (i kind of disabled history and other features in my google acc).
- Also "Unknown Sources" is enabled on my phone.
If there is any way to recover the password via ADB, or to unlock the Data, that would be just awesome...
Thanks for any help.

Hey Bud,
I had a similar issue when I restored a nandroid backup and the password had been glitched so that I couldn't sign into my phone anymore.
Anyways here's a shortened version of a solution I found here: https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/fix-wrong-pin-pattern-when-restoring-twrp-nandroid-backup.452384/
1. Boot into TWRP
2. Open the file manager inside of TWRP and delete (or rename - they get restored whenever the phone is booted so deleting them does no harm) the following files inside "/data/system":
-password.key
-pattern.key
-locksettings.db-wal
-locksettings.db-shm
-locksettings.db
(they might not all be there but whichever ones you can find, delete/rename)
3. Reboot your phone and you should no longer have any kind of pin/pattern on your lockscreen
4. Re-setup your password and don't forget it this time!
Hope this helps :good:

Hi, thanks.
I've been checking that post, but something didn't quite match. The following files are available on my phone ( /data/system):
-gatekeeper.password.key
-gatekeeper.pattern.key
-locksettings.db-shm
-locksettings.db
-locksettings.db-wal
So, as you can see, there are two files with the "gatekeeper" prefix. Are those two supposed to be also deleted (renamed)? Did you have them when you did your fix?
Thanks.

Hey man,
When I fixed my issue I didn't touch those - worst comes to worst just rename the files that were on the list I gave and leave the other 2. If it doesn't work then you can try renaming the files you found from my list as well as the two you have highlighted in red.
Give that a try

Just did the steps (including the gatekeeper. prefixed files) - I just renamed them, so I can revert back. Indeed I was able to get my phone unlocked, but everything is blank. Only a wallpaper, status bar and Nav Bar. No apps, no app drawer, nothing. I can access the Settings, but that doesn't help much... (except that I can set a new password).
Going in Settings -> Apps, shows me all the apps, which is good. But I can't see them on screen.
Also, the following are happening:
- Settings -> Apps -> Defaults: Nothing set up for "Home App". And there is a blank grey menu when I click on it.
- Settings -> Apps -> Application List -> OnePlus Launcher: clicking on Open By Default, crashes the Settings Menu.
Is it possible that I did something wrong here?

Possibly?
When I followed the method in the link in my previous post I had no issues - I just had to setup a new lock method.
It may have been the gatekeeper files - when I did this method previously I didn't touch those as I didn't know they were there
Do you have a backup from TWRP by any chance that you could restore?

Restored the gatekeeper files, but no success. Same behaviour. I have a backup, but is only a "initial backup" - sort of how the phone was at first. I was too dumb to do a backup after I set up everything.
It seems my only way now would be to do a factory reset and lose all data.
Unless there would be a way to recover the password from the database? I know is encrypted and salted, but that salt also has to be stored somewhere... maybe there would be a way to revert that hash into a pattern? grr, this is extremely frustrating.

I apologise for possibly making matters worse whilst trying to help but this is beyond my understanding of TWRP's capabilities
It might be worth restoring your previous backup even if it is blank and then setting up your phone again. During the setup choose an option that should be something like: "Restore from the cloud" which will allow google to restore most of your app data. However, your internal storage will be completely wiped . Once that's all good and setup then definitely make a backup - it's a good habit to get into and will save you a lot of hassle in future.
I don't know if there's anything else I can suggest you to do,
hope this doesn't take up too much time - I personally know how infuriating it is to spend hours on something when there's no easy solution. You'd be better starting from a clean flash of OOS.
Sorry, there's nothing else I can think of to help you out
Best of luck bud.

I'm grateful for your effort. It offered a solution. It just got more complicated than expected. Probably the last Oxygen update patched some security issues - which is not bad after all (it's just bad for me NOW).
Personal data is encrypted with the screen lock pattern, so your only choice is a factory reset

miui security.

Is it safe to uninstall miui security app ( system app ) I heard it can cause bootloop. I got rid of all the other useless system apps but thought I'd ask if anyone's done it without issues.
Don't mess with that app I think
According to the site where I found to remove system apps via ADB they said " they've heard of uninstalling it caused bootloop " so I'll leave it. Got rid of all the other stuff so I'm pretty happy the battery life is even better and less background running apps.

Mind sharing the steps to remove system apps via ADB (no root) ? Thanks
App removal tool.
Here's a tool works perfect, by no means is this mine just something i use.
1) It is established that a deletion of the security app causes a softbrick, at least on some models.
2) 'pm disable' is like uninstall but the disabled app could be called by the other apps and operates normally within this framework.
3) Is it therefore possible to 'pm disable' security app w/o a softbrick?
4) Does 'pm disable' deletes (hides) security app from a desktop?

Disable MSA in Authorization & revocation to stop Ads.

I have been getting ads popping up when i use the app uninstaller, So i goggled and found that a system app/process called MSA in Authorization & revocation, Can be disabled but you need a active data connection as it has to contact Xiaomi data servers before it can be disabled.
There are a lot more apps that are also sending data to Xiaomi server, So i disabled everything but the system software updater.
Talk about spying on when you are doing, Eeeekkk.
Even though i disabled Downloads from reporting back to Xiaomi, The next time you click on the Download icon, A message pops up asking for permission to share your download data with Xiaomi, You can click cancel but it will ask you every time.
This video shows how to remove apps from your Xiaomi phone/tablet that you can not normally uninstall, You need a pc/mac to run the simple software and it looks easy to do.
Download the latest version of the software.

app settings delete when lineageos reboots

I'm not 100% certain it only happens when I reboot, but that's one method of repeating the bug. I know it's not the only way, but it's one repeatable way that I know.
So, after I reboot all the settings of most every app that I have is deleted. For instance, in the newpipe download section there is nothing, but when I open my file explorer the videos I downloaded still exist. Fito Track records my workouts fine ,but then upon reboot the entire apps settings need to be reinstated. I have to reset my login information into K-9 Mail app. F-Droid keeps needing to update repositories everytime I open it. Nearly every app I have installed has this issue, except KurobaEx.
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data is not accessible. No idea if that's relevant or not, as it was accessible when I had AndroidOne installed.
Also, notifications keeps mentioning SELinux is not enforcing your security has been weakened. I don't know if this has anything to do with the problem, but just pointing it just in case.
Nokia 7 Plus with LineageOS 19.0
Edit:
I tried:
Code:
chown -R <user>:everybody /storage/emulated/0/*
As root, but nothing happened. Permissions stayed the same.
Also, my sdcard does not show in the file manager. When I first installed lineageOS I accidentally cancelled the formatting process.
