Hi,
I got a lot of lags on my fire tv when I watched the huluplus. Someone told me to adjust the option 'qualitly' to lowest, but I can't find it. and meanwhile I have found it on my samsung smart tv. It works perfectly. Now I have to wire to my smart TV directly.
So how to find the settings on my fire tv?
1. when you get the lag and buffering to huluplus, what would you do? What kind of STB do you have?
2. Why does not hulu add a option for the account so that we adjust the quality for every device, just like Netflix did it.
thanks
Any help on Net flix please
On my old phone i was able to get the US version with the help of HOLA and then cast the screen to the TV. Unfortunately with the LG G3 when I cast the Netflix screen I can see all the navigation, ie the volume control, progress bar etc but no video.
If I cast local video it can be seen.
i ahve an unlocked LG G3 with Lolipop 5.0
I rooted my Fire TV box and am running a pre-rooted 51.1.6.3_user_516012020 firmware.
Installed Kodi 15.2 and connected it to my NAS drive. Most of my movie library consist of audio in Dolby Digital and DTS. Never had an issue playing my movies over my previous modified WDTV Live box while connected to my Yamaha RX-V467 audio receiver using HDMI from box to receiver and receiver to TV. The receiver supports Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD.
Running Kodi I can get Dolby Digital Plus with no issues, but playing any movies that have DTS makes my receiver display PCM with only 2 channels. If I manually switch the receiver to DTS decoding, I don’t get any sound, not even that white noise that most people mention. The receiver displays “No Signal”. I have enabled/disabled the pass-through with no luck. I have audio channels set to 2. In the Fire TV settings, I have tried both auto and the manual DD+ over HDMI. I also tried using an optical cable while making sure I changed the audio setting in the Fire TV to recognize this change, but it also didn’t make any difference.
I thought I read somewhere that the native apps on the Fire TV support DD+ and DTS, so I opened a trial account with Netflix, selected the tier with HD and Ultra HD. I mean it’s free for one month, why not select the best option they have. I noticed Netflix only states whether a movie is in 5.1 surround sound or stereo. It doesn’t show you the specific audio format. So I played a movie with 5.1 audio and my receiver told me it was DD+. Okay, so that’s good, but I already knew it played DD+ from using Kodi earlier. My next issue was finding a movie that uses DTS on Netflix. I googled and found a list of movies that have DTS. Yet every movie that I searched for on Netflix (at least 10) was not found. Does Netflix not offer movies that have DTS audio? If not, that is just sad because there are a bunch of good movies.
Anyone have any suggestions to test DTS audio from the home screen of the Fire TV, or better yet, how to resolve DTS “No Signal” when using Kodi?
Thank you!
I've got 8 fire stick tvs in the house and we use Hulu and almost always stream live tv. When some of the tvs are shut off streaming stops while with many others the fire stick continues to stream after the tv is turned off. Crazy data consumption! I know that if we hit the Home button first the streaming will stop but is there any way to just stop streaming on the 4 tvs that continue?
work around
I used to power my ChromeCast using the USB port on my HDTV.
That worked until I added my FirestickTV.
I now use a "smart power strip" and the ChromeCast/FirestickTV only receive power if the HDTV is turned on.
IDK if there's a setting to power down the FireStick if the HDMI connection is null/dead but good luck!
It sounds like it may be a HDMI CEC issue.
