S20 ultra camera2 api access for tele camera - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

Hi guys,
I was fiddling with the new Samsung S20 Ultra cameras from the application side and I found the camera manager does not report the tele camera, there are only 5 cameras listed by ids:
"0" - main back
"1" - front
"2" - wide back
"3" - front
"4" - depth
But if I try to access the camera with id "5" this is the error message
CAMERA_DISCONNECTED (2): getCameraCharacteristics:751: No camera device with ID "5" currently available
Click to collapse
which implies there is a camera there but the manager does not let me access it.
Have anyone else got this error message, is the API closed in regards with the tele camera?
Thanks in advance.

Can't believe they did this; we don't have a working Gcam for Exynos. I know about the zgcam, but get serious.

Manual Camera Test

Hey, has anyone tested the Manual Camera compatibility test or the Manual Camera app itself? Or any other recent app using Camera 2 API. Footej Camera for example, does changing ISO, SS, Aperture, F stops work and etc?... I've looked through the threads and found some diverse opinions regarding its implementation on the phone =/
cheers
Manual Camera is fully supported and I can change everything.
Footej Camera does not offer any manual settings for ISO, SS... on my OP3.
Are they hidden somewhere?
F stops can't be changed because smartphones all have a fixed aperture.
You can change ISO, shutter-speed, manual focus, white balance (fixed values only).

I used f stops instead of exposure compensation, my mistake. Thanks for the response though
Regarding Footej Camera, I think they are supposed to be the yellow highlighted settings on this image: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1...?key=dnFjdWkwUmstZWxwMEQzMkZVM2FTbHVGbm96Slp3

These are not settings that can be changed.
They show you which iso and shutter speed is being used for the picture in real-time.
When you move the camera around, they change immediately.

20MP (IMX 376K) how to access in normal conditions?

Hello,
I want to take pictures in jpg +dng with the IMX 376K sensor. Are there some third party apps, that have access to the IMX 376K ?
And what is with FreeDcam? Any plans to integrate this?
Thanks
FYI 20MP is scaled up number. You won't get good quality like primary 16MP lens. So not much use of the secondary lens however they should give option to switch lens in pro mode.

Hi
For tests you can dial *#*#1597#*#* which should open the camera app in test mode.
Then you can switch sensors with the camera switch button on the left side.
Cheers, Axel
These settings were not changed by OP from 5 - they still show telephoto..

The [wide] one is the main camera, and the [telephoto] one is secondary.

I see this also works on the new OP 6+ (Plus) model for 2018. But I can't switch to 20 mp sensor with volume buttons - However, I can still use telephoto/normal (1X/2X) using the camera app. Isn't that strange?

black cam fix for gcam?

hey, is there a fix for black frontcam pictures in gcam or maybe a version with portrait mode and possibility to disable hdr for frontcam?
all pics with gcam and hdr enabled in frontcam just turn black
Try an alternative port/version of the app.
My phone is off and charging at present, but I believe I'm using: -
MGC_5.2.022_1.0.apk (BSG, 2018-05-31)

Why didn't you post in this thread, instead of starting a new one?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/themes/google-camera-mod-bsg-t3784060
this is a common error for Redmi Note 5 AI / Global / China.
it's due to our omnivision fron sensor not procesing the pic size correctly or something like that. I asked @defcomg for help and he is looking at some logs and sending me so things to try. I think we should make a thread for our device specific bug.
I agree on opening a thread for this specific bug so that someone might help I guess or it maybe highlighted.
Yeah, we are patiently waiting for hdr+ on front camera...

Same problem here. It worked for a while and then stopped. Any solution? Only black photos with front camera and hdr

Question Pixel 6 pro selfie camera (ISSUE)

I have no option for the .7x wide-screen on selfie camera.
Can zoom from x1 upto x4 but no wide-screen using .7
Can idea guys?
Your camera app looks different to mine. I don't have a zoom slider only buttons.
My camera app version: 8.4.167.404335983.10
Perhaps try cleairng app data and checking if there's updates
Is that camera all the way down to 0.7x? I understood that to just be for the outward facing camera at 114 degrees. The video conferencing camera is only 94 degrees, so not as wide. Mine shows me zoom down to 0.9.
The HAL says: android.control.zoomRatioRange [0.84999305 10.00000000 ]
Looks like you also have some kind of night mode switched on. I wonder if that changes the limits?

I'm also on same app version as you. Have cleared cache and force stopped camera app, & looked for any update, but I'm on latest version.
Still not fixed issue, so still no .7 on front camera for stills or video. It's a slider that goes from x1 to 4x
Thanks anyway

No it's not on 0.7x it will only adjust from x1 upto x4 on front camera, so I'm missing the 0.7x. This is on both the stills & video on front camera, and also uses a slider rather than buttons?
It's running latest camera app version & I've forced stopped the camera app and cleared cache but still set the same, strange one.
I've tried with & without night sight settings but same either way.

You completely missed what I said. It SHOULD NOT read 0.7x for anyone EVER because that camera has a range of 0.85 to 10.0. That means it will read as 0.9 to 10.0 (rounded to 1 decimal point).
The "away" facing wide angle camera has a greater range; [0.67044258 20.00000000 ]
Try the grapheneOS camera application: https://github.com/GrapheneOS/platform_external_Camera/raw/12/prebuilt/Camera.apk
Is it a Pixel 6? It has no wide selfie

Get in touch with the Google support team. They should be able to replace your phone with a new one. The replacement may not arrived soon though.

Yours is right, mine is wrong. But I can't seem to fix the problem.
Have you had the software update yet that added some features?
I had 1 software update out the box which I installed.
I'm using the latest camera build version 8.4.167.404335983.10
I uninstalled the camera app & reinstalled, also done hard reset pressing power & volume up for 10 seconds, but still have same issue!
If the video conferencing camera reads 0.7 in the google camera application, they're probably mucking with the readings. The HAL *does not* have that ratio.
I have the same issue, had an update this morning. The gesture bar at the bottom is gone and the camera interface has a slider rather than 0.7, 1, 4 etc!
I've realised that on both of our pixels having selfie video in time lapse mode crashes the app

Do you think they will fix it? I gather they did that to make switching between lens seamless!
