Bad idea. No restore of Samsung backup after lineageOS installation. Get your data into universal formats. Like vcf for contacts.
sure

Same question ! I use a samsung account and notes in the account storage. I installed lineage OS 17.1 on my Galaxy Note4 - N910C without problems, but I could not install applications so that there were no errors. Can anyone help embed Samsung applications in Lineage OS 17.1 for Galaxy Note4 N910C? Or maybe there are other ways to solve my problem?

Hi,
Hi use my OP3 with CM 13.0 nightly. Before I had a Samsung S5 from which I made a nandroid backup and restored it on the OP3. Everything is working properly up to now, except one thing.
If I log into Google wesbite and check my associated phones, the OP3 is identified as my previous S5. Even if I delete the data and cache of the play store, play services and android device manager, it's still there.
How can I reset my OP3 so that it identifies as OP3? I would like to just reset that part and not the whole device just to fix this issue.
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
meiser
I recently updated my old Sprint GS3 to Lineage OS 14.1 with GApps. Only problem is, that in the process, I lost the ability to block texts based on their content (NOT what number they came from). The stock Sprint Messsage app on KitKat had this. But neither the most recent GApps or Google version has this. I've tried a bunch of other options available from the Google Play Store, and so far they either, don't have the feature, it doesn't work the way I need it, OR they drive me nuts with ads or wacky features I don't need or want. I've also tried copying over .APKs from some other Samsung phones on Sprint. But I couldn't get any of them to successfully install or work on my phone. Any constructive suggestions would be much appreciated. THANKS - mz

The problem with copying the APK from a Sprint phone is that the stock system is odex and lineage is deodex. You could try flashing a stock ROM that's deodexed and backing up the APK with titanium, then restoring it on lineage. May or may not work because some of those stock app just want the TouchWiz system no matter what. You could try copying the APK from a stock deodexed ROM (like wicked x) and then installing it on lineage as a user app. But like I said some of those Samsung apps need TouchWiz to function. Just thought I'd throw out some things to try.
Hi everyone
I have got a Samsung Tab Pro 10.1 (SM-T520) and it unfortunately stopped updating due to it been so old and was left behind on android KitKat 4.4.
So I decided to root it and download the lineage update to get android 7.1.2 custom ROM on it and give it a bit of life instead of never been used because it's slow and blotchy.
When I download the ROM everything worked really well, moment installed Gapps it when pear shaped. I was met with "android is starting" message stopping me from do anything but go on settings through notifications bar and it made my keyboard disappear.
So I just flashed the lineage ROM back to standard without Gapps. I have tried most of the Gapps packages that they make and I get the same thing every time with the missing keyboard.
My real question is can build a set of google apps through apk. I have tried installing google play, google play services and google play frame something (can't remember the last one) all of them either don't work or crash and just not stop being up a message saying each one of them isn't working.....what apps do need to install or flash to build up my own set of google apps without using Gapps
(Just some notes at the end to help, I rooted using root genius, my custom boot is TWRP, I installed TWRP via odin and lineage seems to be the only ROM that does a android 7 for my device, the apps I want working are google play store, google app, google maps, google assistant (if possible), gmail and maybe calender. The rest of them are on my non rooted s7e so don't need them on the tablet.)
Hope someone can help

Thanks.
In the end I just picked and tried flashing different Gapps packages, when a package I tried wouldn't work I just flashed installed the original lineage 14.1 ROM, to wipe the Gapps package....after trying about 4 different packages from Gapps I think the micro package worked.
Just can't get android assistant to work now, do anyone have any ideas???
hello
before installing opengapps u should wipe data, cache, walvick
regards
I want to install Lineage OS 14.1 on a Samsung J500H but, I am worried that will I be able to install google apps on it. I am flashing the ROM using Odin 3. I think I could open Playstore from the preloaded browser and get all apps from there.
I had forgot to enable OEM unlock before rooting and when the phone boots it shows "custom binary blocked by FRP". I think I should be able to download a custom ROM and run Google Apps from there with out the need for flashing the original stock ROM first.
If anyone here knows what to do in such a case then please help.
Thanks.
Hey guys,
I really like LineageOS so far. Very VERY fast and clean.
I really want to keep it - but I've got problems.
Can someone help me out please?
Problem 1: can't start with Magisk to hide the root. Can someone give me a working kernel or a guide on how to build me my own?
Problem 2: I can't use ANY Camera app. Even video call crashes. No fix found until now.
Problem 3: I installed OpenGApps and I don't even have a Gallery to see the pictures I've got on my phone? Any solution?
Greetings
Mishka

1 probably a safetynet issue. If you critically depend on apps that refuse to work without safetynet attestation, stop using custom ROM
2 device specific issue. Ask your device community
3 install GApps nano or pico only. You can always install missing apps from play store.

Thanks.
To 1 : I can't even use my Samsung Gadgets, watch or buds say rooted LOL... Heard Magisk hide will make it possible.
To 2: okay, thanks, I did that.
To 3: I installed the "normal" one. Shouldn't there be almost everything? Plus, if I wanna uninstall the "normal" one and install nano or pico- do I have to do a full wipe again?

1 it's a game of cat-and-mouse. It is the job of safetynet to fail on custom ROM
3 there is no normal. You probably mean stock. People say flashing smaller GApps removed excess apps. But maybe won't bring back lineageOS apps. My method to remove GApps is to wipe system and data and flash lineageOS.
