Yes downgrading is safe.. but if you want good battery backup then update to 9.5.19 version (but this version enables antirollback protection). im getting goog battery backup in 9.5.19
you can check SOT here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77072669&postcount=91
i am using note 5 ai 4/64 global 9.5.17. i have unlocked bootloader, twrp installed with root access. i want to downgrade to 9.5.13 as i have heard it was the best rom for note 5 ai..can i do this witout antirollback effect? or any chance of bricking my device? thanx in advance.
Its safe
Its safe to down grade from 9.5.17.0 to whatever rom
Antirollback started with 9.5.19.0
Go ahead it will be ok
where can download 9.5.13 ?
9.5.17 is on Anti 3 so you can but do check this for any doubts

I think 9.2.4 was best ROM interms of battery backup
Hi guys
I would like to ask if possible help me with unlocking, rooting and helping me decide which custom rom to install on my Redmi note 5 pro.
I been off for sometime from xda, so bear with me.
Many thanks
Pixel experience plus (Android Pie) is the most stable and fast custom ROM I have tested
Unlock bootloader by the official Xiaomi application (backup your personal files because this operation will erase all phone data)
Install ADB drivers for Xiaomi device
Flash OrangeFox recovery 10 for Whyred
Wipe cache, system and vendor partitions
Install downloaded ROM (fromixelexperience.com)
Use "How to..." On YouTube to search detailed videos about flashing pixel experience (or any other custom ROM) on Redmi Note 5 Pro

Advising on a ROM is going to be hard as there are soooo many. A lot seem similar when reading them but may have a unique feature or bug. If you are able to change ROMs often then just try them out and swap between them. For me I use my phone for work. I rely on email and some apps. I also need GPS /maps and banking apps to work so I have a ROM that suits. It's an older ROM using 8.1 and I would like to upgrade but can't risk bugs.
To unlock the bootloader you need the official Xiaomi unlocked and sign up your account. Takes a few days or used to anyway.
Once unlocked just install your ROMs the usual way
I am running a EU (i think) note 8 pro with a global 12.5.7 official rom, it has way too many glitches i don't want to deal with and i wanted to change rom, i once tried and bricked it, i recovered it a bit after and that-s how i got 12.5.7, what's the safest way to mod it and what rom is the safest? I was looking at either CrDroid or CorvusOS, which one would you recommend?
To be fair, I have the stock rom, version 12.5.7 and is the most stable version I ve encountered. I have not considered any custom ROM yet because they all seem to lack behind the stock rom. Sure, you get better looks and the vibe of stock debloated rom. Then again you lose a lot of features, Bluetooth range is abysmal and performance is worse compared to stock. And don't get me started on hard bricking risks. My advice would be to make a full reset and stick to the stock rom.

1/You can find many free unbrick hardbrick videos for Redmi note 8 pro. And it's simple to unbrick (in my opinion).
2/You got brick because you didn't follow flash guide.
Example:
- You flash 12.5.x firmware based rom when you are using Miui 12.0.x
- You didn't format data or format data error
- ...
3/Each custom rom has it own support group in each thread. If you want recommend, join there to ask or try it yourself.
Pixel experience imo is good I used to use ppui but rip
Hello,
I am using google translate.
My k40 is using rom miui eu 14.0.7.
I am looking for a good battery optimized kernel , no errors , no root , installed via twrp .
Thanks
Try n0 or real king. Probably the most battery friendly
In MIUI Global, Stock Kernel
AOSP Realking or Eternity.
