[Q] Archos 5 Android Tablet Gen 7 ROM Development

I am new to posting in forums but I'm eager to learn. I have limited experience with ubuntu and linux in general. I am a college student but I have good knowledge of computers and know some language including HTML, Visual basic, SQL, C, etc...
I have a Archos 5 Android 7502 160GB version and I am looking for information on how I would be able to get help developing a ROM update for the Archos. I HAVE DONE MY RESEARCH. I've been looking this up since I got the device in December.
I know many drivers need to be adapted to the ROM for the archos to be able to run it. I wanted to know what Application I should use and if I can only do it using ADB bridge. (I know little about how the bridge works)
I have the Developer Edition Firmware from openAOS installed on the Archos. This installs a bootloader that can be edited with menu.lst on the device default folder. I also have 3 ROMs I can boot to: 1. Android 1.6 (Default OS) 2. Froyo 2.2 (In Development) 3. Angstrom Linux (comes with developer driver)
It is my understanding that the source code is available for the Archos Gen 7 Tablets on the Archos website. (Can't link due to being a new user)
Also gingerbread has its source code released. (Can't find link, yet...)
I was wondering what steps would be involved in adapting the drivers for the ROM for the Archos Gen 7 Tablet?
Also how much time would be needed to finish the project?

Well I'm only going to tell u this it will be a hastle... and considering the archos 5 being one of the oldest tablets out there and the developers out there still not having froyo completley developed yet... I would guess that the project would be a VERY long project to work on. But I do incurage you to make a rom for the archos 5... Oh one question is it the archos 5 you have or the archos 5 internet tablet...

It's posible to modify a rom to upgrade it's android version?

Well, it is?
I have an Alcatel C9, it's a really nice phone but Alcatel gives no support to basically anything they make... There are some really nice ROMs for this phone, but neither of them go pass android 4.2.2.
What I really want is the phone to keep the compatibility with the newer apps because the hardware can do it but well I can't install anything that need android 4.3+
Can I edit an existing ROM, maybe my own stock ROM to upgrade the android version without having to start a gigantic project? If the anwer is yes, then I will start studing the subject more and try to make it hapend, if not well thanks for your time.
I am a programer in java and C#, I just don't have experience in the android Custom ROM world, so don't know how possible is this.
Excuse my english, it's not my native language.

Philips TV 754/12

Hello, i bought the 55OLED754/12 Philips TV a few weeks ago.
Now I have the problem that it has the OS Saphi and not Android
Is there any way to root or install APKs from external ?
I really need something.
best regards
Hi,
no - it's not Android - it's a linux based OS... so you need an external device for Android Apps (Amazon Fire TV, Nvidia Shield, ...)

All info about my TV:
I'm guessing you've bought this tv from Iran, right?
I got Daewoo DSL-55K5700U, and I'm in the same situation. managed to install google apps. Go to apkmirror (Android TV) and download what you need, just a little heads up, I assume your TV's CPU Architecture is armeabi-v7a, so download the correct versions of apps for your TV…
Hope it would be useful…

Install

Hello
I'm a new member of this forum.
I've already searched on this forum "how to install Philips, Sony, TCL Android TV firmware on Virtualbox, VMware, or android studio," but I can't find the tutorial.
Can it be installed on VMware and others?
Thank you
Windows can run Android apps via Amazon Appstore, but you can't run TV firmware on PC. if you're looking for Android emulator you can install Bliss OS or BlueStacks.
