This wil be a list of firmware sources and a bit of explanation in different firmware versions and builds. This information has been gathered over the past few weeks, mainly by helping others to find the proper stock roms.
First of all, there seem to be multiple regions that have different firmware’s, and there seem to be different software channels per region or per region per provider. ( for instance vfeu vs reteu )
The phone model is XT2041-X where the X can stand for 1 to 4
The development name / moto name is called: Sofiar ( XT2041-1/3)
the development name for the US name is: Sofia ( xt2041-4 )
The easiest way to find the proper firmware would be via the Lenovo rescue and smart assistant ( LMSA)
you can download it from here: https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/rescue_and_smart_v5.0.0.25_setup.exe
Since a few days support has been added to rescue the g8 power
you can download the current firmware for your device via the rescue page.
Manual selection of firmware sources:
So far, every source on the internet points to the lolinet mirror
see https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/sofiar/official/
US version: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/sofia/official/
a 2nd source would be the moto updates tracker, but I expect that everything you find here Will appear on lolinet
US: https://t.me/s/MotoUpdatesTracker?q=#sofia
The rest of the world: https://t.me/s/MotoUpdatesTracker?q=#sofiar
so far I have not been able to find any other sources. I hope this helps a bit in downloading / finding the stock firmware for your phone.
If you find any other / better source, please let me know, I'll add it to this first post.
Thanks
I successfully updated mine and regained root.
I will post manual update guide later.
A side note: the following must be flashed in fastbootd (fastboot reboot fastbootd or adb reboot fastboot)
boot.img, recovery.img, vbmeta.img, super, dtbo.img
@mingkee Pls can you share manual update guide? THX

There's a simple method using LMSA rescue method, but make sure you backup your phone because your phone will be wiped during the process.
Hi, I'm running into a little problem. I used the lolinet link to download the factory ROM for my Moto G Power (Best Buy unlocked, on Verizon). I downloaded the sofia VZW factory ROM first (thinking because I'm on Verizon). I used Magisk to patch the boot.img and fastbooted it. After reboot, I lost the touch screen and cell service -- could not unlock the phone. So I thought no big deal, I'll just reflash the unpatched boot.img from the sofia retus ROM this time. However, I still do not have touch screen. Does anyone have the factory boot.img for QPM30.80.50-1 that originally came with this G Power? Thanks in advance.

You may have patched unmatched build number.
Solution: flash full ROM
LMSA rescue is the simplest method but it will wipe the phone
Thanks! That was what I ended up doing.
Is it possible to change fw xt2041-3 (PAHF0004PL) to XT2041-3 (PAHF0006GB)? I'm on the PL version (andoid security January 2020) and the GB version is May 2020. If possible, the bootloader must be unlocked? Can it be changed via any tool (mototool) or via adb commands?
Anyone have the boot.img for QPMS30.80-51-3?
I cant download the latest May update from their server. Some reason the link to download expired a few days after. So if anyone has another link or can just hook it up with the boot.img please
I couldnt get it with the rescue app either it was a lower version.
EDIT
Found it here

In my case, you in fact cannot exactly download the "current" firmware via the rescue page - the phone's updater app thinks QPM30.80-51-3 is the latest version, but the rescue app installs the newer QPM30.80-109. Both are 5/1/2020 security patch level, but the boot.img files are most certainly not interchangeable.
I ended up in a bootloop which I had to rescue the phone to escape. I'd advise anyone wanting to root this phone to just rescue it first.
Also it's essential that you install the Motorola Device Manager/USB drivers in addition to LRSA, otherwise LRSA will incorrectly insist your phone is not in fastboot flash mode if you have to resort to rescuing from fastboot mode.
Finally, the rescue process will not work from a Windows VM under KVM, whether you have the USB device redirected or shared with the host. You need Windows running on bare metal.
Hope this saves someone the hours of annoyance I just went through trying to unbrick the damn thing.
Can jump from a carrier Rom to a unlocked version? And if yes, what's the unlocked phone rom? Cause I only see carrier versions.

Switching from a carrier rom to an unlocked version won't SIM unlock a phone (at least not to my knowledge), if that's your objective. But if you're looking to switch the retail flavor rom, try RETUS, specifically XT2041-4_SOFIA_RETUS_10_QPM30.80-13-2_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip.

Also a good word of advice before flashing a boot.bin
run the command
fastboot boot boot.bin
or whatever your boot.bin is called
Then you can test your patched file before patching it. Also even better once you get into Android you can open MAGISK and use direct install

yea when you are in bootloader with phone attached to the PC it should work
It worked on my pixel 2 xl and this phone
Does anybody have this file available? (Sorry for the spaces, I can't post a link...). The download link has expired.

What's the difference between that and RETUS on lolinet? Is there any? Reason I'm asking is that I don't have any radios after that OTA (Google Fi) and flashing the boot.img from RETUS QPMS-30.80-51-5.

Hi,
Everybody is looking for official stock roms for Moto G4/G4 Plus *AWAY* from Motorola support, which looked to me like kind of weird but I now know why: people are looking for stock roms that will allow them over the air upgrades. If you have a developer edition or a moto with unlocked bootloader, Moto's own roms are flashable and *COMPLETELY WORKING*
motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/recovery-images
Go to above URL, quick login using G+, follow instructions to get to the download list. The listed download for XT1625 will also work just fine for XT1642.
Or, you can just use this direct link: motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/cc/ajaxCustom/getBootFile/fileName/ib65qpz53y
may also require login.
******** VERY IMPORTANT ************
Everybody lists fastboot utility commands with which you restore a Moto stock rom. They do not tell these severe warnings:
- Never flash a gpt.bin file unless you really absolutely ultimately intentionally and knowingly NEED TO. Why? in 99.9% of the cases it is useless to your phone and your needs and all it will do is deprive you the ability to downgrade to an earlier version or flash an older boot file, system file, ...etc. You get the picture. BTW, gpt.bin is only a partition image containing Moto's partition table scheme, with versioning for downgrade prevention. Keep away from it. It is pure EVIL.
IF YOU SEE gpt.bin FILE, DELETE IT WITHOUT HESITATION.
- Our second vanity: bootloader.img or bootloader.bin or anything that spells BOOTLOADER. EVIL. DELETE IT. It will 99.9% only mess up your cellular capability and render your phone without voice calls, with out SMS and without 2G/3G/4G; no data whatsoever. It will convert your phone into a 5.5 inch SIM-less tablet. It will KILL YOUR SIM SLOTS.
Instruction are on the first link, but anyway, here we go:
To flash, put the phone in fastboot mode:
1. Power OFF your device
2. Then Power ON + Volume Down Alternatively, you can reboot into fastboot mode if you have adb...
adb reboot bootloader.
Next flash the images using fastboot:
Code:
"DELETED COMMAND HERE WAS SUPPOSED TO FLASH THE GPT.BIN. NEVER DO IT"
"DELETED COMMAND HERE WAS SUPPOSED TO FLASH THE BOOTLOADER. NEVER DO IT"
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot
enjoy

if you have not unlocked boot-loader you are covered by warranty and I advise you keep it that way. Motorola is a BI***.
if you really can't live without older stock, go to moto service and ask them to do it for you. should not cost you much, if any.
if what you hate is stock firmware, you can unlock bootloader, get warranty off, and flash LinageOS. Stable enough although still in nightly builds (successor of CyanogenMod)
hope that helps.
PS1: what you would fear the most is lose your SIM slot, happens a lot. Be safe!
PS2: asking if I tried it yes, I did. it worked. but I was on 6.0.1 at the time. do not take risk.
PS3: Motorola is a *****. DON'T MESS WITH IT.

There is, but if you are not good with command line, think twice. Check here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/help/complete-partition-backup-script-xt1644-t3608408
you would typically use that alongside full TWRP backup.
I can assure you nothing will go wrong if you jump straight to LineageOS, it might only go wrong if you take the bad decision of going back to stock. The dd images would give you solid backup, though.
In case you lose your sim slot, you can use help from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72343095&postcount=101
I intuitively contributed to that solution Giving is taking!

My XT1625 is already on Lineage OS Andriod N. However, I feel like the cellular reception and thus battery life has been worse versus stock.
I wanted to flash only the latest baseband from the latest stock Andriod N but your Moto link only has 6.0.1 for XT1625.
What gives- I thought Motorola already updated the G4 to 7.0?
Will OTAs work with this?
Will OTAs work with these?
If I just want to upgrade my modem/baseband and then go back to LOS, do I just need to type "fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin" or do I need to make a full install?
it works for moto g4 t1625 amazon version?? compilation number npj25.93-14.5 ?????? i answer this because in the web site motorola its appear the moto g4 rom xt1625 build MPJ24.139-64
Works!
I just want to say that I had a Moto G4 Plus (XT1642) that had no SIM recognition, no IMEI, no Wifi, and thanks to the instructions at the top of this thread, I now have it all.
I spent the whole day trying all sorts of things. Now it finally works!
Thanks!
How do I flash?
Hi friend, sorry but my English is not good.
My phone will receive nougat via OTA?
Something has broken my sound notifications
When I try this procedure I get a lot of these errors against some of the commands
(bootloader) Image aboot failed validation
(bootloader) Preflash validation failed
(bootloader) will fail: flash:aboot
FAILED (remote failure)
And now sounds that accompany any notifications from any applications fail to make any sound. Vibrate does initiate.
I am trying to find a way to enable hotspot on my ATT Moto G4 plus, if I flash this rom can anyone confirm it will unlock this feature? Torn between flashing or just going in to kernel and make change for this feature, any advice appreciated..
how to restore the sim slot after flash( i have no service)
i had frp, and after remove it with 3rd party tool i flash new rom.
now i have no service(but it detect the sim), there is any way to restore the sim slot?
i flashed the original rom from motorola site and it didnt help.
i flash the lineage OS and it didnt helped.
thanks

I've been searching for a fix for a few months now, whenever I get free time. Most threads about the subject die and aren't revisited. Someone will inevitably come to this page on a Google search wondering like us. I haven't found anything that will help and so I'm calling it quits. This phone is so outdated it would be better suited to find a deal somewhere else.
Thanks... can't find the button.

I want you and yours to be blessed forever and great post.

I'm not sure if this is the right place, I felt a discussion area was an okay place to share and discuss my findings
I'm working with the Boost Mobile Motorola E4, the contents to this thread will relate solely to the Boost E4
Bootloader Unlocking
Unlocking the E4's bootloader was very simple through Motorola's website, it is for certain unlocked
After unlocking the bootloader I got the bad key screen but in my experience that's normal
You can verify that your bootloader is unlocked by using fastboot or checking the Developer Options
Rooting
Other people claim to have success with it, I have not yet had that success Just flash Magisk 13.1 after flashing the verity zip, don't bother with anything else, root will work first try. If you tried another root method, you will have to restore with the method in post #2 before it will work without giving the error.
After flashing the superuser zip and the verity zip, I wasn't led to a successful root I instead downloaded SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822 and flashed that after the verity zip and i was able to reach home menu
I tried flashing Chainfire's SuperSU zip but the device stuck at the boost mobile logo, I will try again after I can get back to stock and do the processes over again and find a way to have 100% success each time Downloaded a new version SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822 as noted above and i was able to fully boot
The issue now is that SuperSU app isnt detecting root but Terminal is gaining root, I'm going to try reinstalling app from the market. I got the SU Binary Occupied error, going to try to downgrade it to 2.79 and see how that goes. It didn't work for me, now it says improperly installed.. Going to try something else. It's 1:55AM August second, taking a small break from the root, at least I got other things figured out for now.

I'm going to try to collect as much information as I can about this device and provide as much detail as possible
NOTE: The below IS NOT Boost Mobile stock, it's sprint will update when I figure out Boost Stock
The sprint stock does fully work with the Boost Mobile device, LTE/data services seems to not work until you do a Factory Reset (in settings). ##72786# didn't work. It is now working for me fully after the factory reset from settings. The boost apps automatically install after the factory reset and after the celluar setup on first boot.. My Boost, etc.
After a few times of flashing and re-setup I've ended up with HFA error 701 which asks me to contact service provider to configure the device for service. Fixed by turning phone off for 20 minutes to an hour and the activation processed correctly.
If your experience differs, let us know!
Restoring to Stock

Download the Sprint firmware file: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298975628
Rename the zip to sperry.zip, the reason for this is to avoid the long file name error in RSD in some locations
Let the flashing process complete
Some people reported RSD not working in Windows 10, this is not fully true, install all moto and android drivers and it will show up fine as seen in below image

@amarc78 You should be able to use the Sprint firmware posted by zoofie666 - Boost is Sprint's prepaid brand.
The weirdness with the activation on Sprint/Boost seems to be normal, because I had trouble with two phones recently. The first was a retail unlocked e4 (to be used on Sprint), done before rooting, and activated at a Sprint corporate store last week by a rep who had trouble. The second phone was a retail unlocked Moto g4 Play (also to be used on Sprint), that I rooted first, got the SIM and back-end computer part taken care of by a rep at the same store yesterday, and did the rest myself.

Dang bro, you pop up everywhere I go around here, lol. Remember me from the moto g helping getting data on cm? Your the one who posted the nasa gif when we got it right? Anyway, I would gladly take what you have rooted or not, and any other imgs you would be so kind to provide me with. I was about to buy another now that they're $20 cheaper than when I got my first. I knew that would happen. I wanted to get my wife one anyway. I was a dumb ass and ran a flash all script for sprint stock firmware and forgot to remove everything but the system sparse chunks. So now I really need full stock firmware. Thanks a lot for responding man!

Hey, don't you have a LG volt?
Hello guys, i have two questions:
a) after you unlock bootloader on this device, is it possible to flash the non boost (international e4) rom on it? if so, have you done it?
b) i used to have a moto e2 from boost mobile (xt1526) and did this with the unlocked international e2 rom (xt1527) and i was able to use my gsm networks with it as i dont live in the U.S and CDMA bands dont work in my country, would it be possible with this device too? Because GSM bands are embeded in snapdragon chipsets, so flashing a stock unlocked firmware should make it work, but i want to know if you have tried it
- The one labeled Factory is the Combination file; the other one is consumer/retail firmware
- As with other current devices, I'm assuming that "Odin 3.13 3b patched" will be needed in order to flash the stock firmware, and that the Combination file will fail to flash, until a method is found
- Once the device is released, retail firmware will be available via SamFirm and other sources, so I'm really only providing this now as early access, for anyone that wants to dig in and play around and see what they can find, etc
- I compress extra small for space and bandwidth savings. The default Windows extractor can't handle it, so you'll need a 3rd party tool like 7zip, WinRAR, etc
Happy flashing!

There's a working firmware released already.
Thanks for the Combination ROM.
Cheers.

Hi,
No, I tried a lot to install it but since Samsung S10 and above Samsung made a special security things to stop us installing the Combination ROM, I used all available methods like TWRP but the ROM never boot, but you can see my fix here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...nt/fixed-repair-imei-fix-deleted-efs-t4011433

I am still trying, please check https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10+/help/n975f-restarting-flashing-combination-t4063557
I've figured out how to do it.
Not free though
can someone find Combination (Factory) for N9750 with U2 N9750ZSU2CTD1 or N9750ZSU2BTC1 firmwares.
I got FRP lock after instalation last firmware with root. Cant enter in recovery, load only in download mode
I have lost IMEI number after flashing Pie. On my Sprint Moto Z2 Force. Signal bar has turned grey and IMEI is showing as zero.
Wifi is working
Bluetooth is working
Barcodes in bootloader mode is showing some different IMEI no.
Downgrade to Stock Oreo or Naugat
If I downgrade to stock Oreo then I lost all wifi, sim and Bluetooth. Also no baseband found in bootloader.
Will appreciate if someone can help.
Thanks in advance.
If you have already flashed Pie Rom (including bl、 baseband), you will not be able to return to Oreo
Hello.
I am trying to research the imei bricks on Sprint models after Verizon pie update. In short, everything we understand says this should not be happening, and yet it is.
Can you, for research purposes, describe the state of your device when you applied the update? Was it running full verizon firmware down to the bl, modem, and gpt? I may have an experimental fix but I need to gather more info about the bricks.
Also, it is impetative that you don't flash any further modems for my fix to have a good chance to work. Thanks.
Thanks for the message,
The device working fine, very super smooth and I can feel the difference.
The only think which is not working is cell phone and it's because of 0 IMEI number, currently I am on pie retail version (NASH_RETAIL_9.0_PPX29.159-19_subsidy-default_regulatary-DEFAULT_CFC.xml) downloaded from mirrors lolinet com / firmware / Moto / Nash / retail
Pls let me know if you want more info.
Thanks in advance.

What firmware did you flash from? Stock? Do you have an unlocked bootloader?
If yes to all the above, I can give you some experimental things to try.
Yes to all and bootloader is unlocked.
btw i have flashed firmware in this order
1. i flashed NASH_PPX29.159_19_subsidy_DEFAULT_regulatory_DEFAULT_CFC.xml
then
2. XT1789-06_NASH_RETIN_9.0_PPX29.159-19_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml
and now on
3. NASH_RETAIL_9.0_PPX29.159-19_subsidy-default_regulatary-DEFAULT_CFC.xml
That's not ideal (the additional flashes) but what I have is still worth a try and you have nothing to lose.
The first thing we need is to boot twrp on the device using fastboot (get the latest .img here and fastboot boot twrp.img it). Once in twrp, immediately reboot to "EDL."
https://dl.twrp.me/nash/
Get drivers for qualcomm 9008 mode device if needed (should show in Windows device manager under "ports"):
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603862036
Then get the nougat blankflash here:
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/nash/blankflash/blankflash_from_NDX26.183-15_17.zip
Extract and run the cmd inside. You may need to try a few times, on different usb ports. I heard usb 2.0 works best.
If it succeeeds, try flashing your stock firmware and see if imei is back.
Good luck. This is a real stretch but it just might work...
PS: This does have potential to completely brick your device. Please keep that in mind and weigh your options.
I have tried as per instruction but still getting the "baseband not found" status on all stock oreo & nougat firmwares. So when I flash Pie retail I get wifi and Bluetooth back with 0 IMEI status. so the situation is the same.
BTW I have read somewhere the 0 IMEI issue is related persist file/folder/. I may be able to share reference link of that discussion in a while. (Link of discussion)
Let me know if you want me to test anything else. Thanks again for your time. best

I can see the qualcomm device in twrp on my device manager. how to i get to edl mode. there is no reboot edl option in twrp. do i command fastboot reboot edl when device in twrp screen? when i run the qboot blank-flash it says wating for device
Please use latest TWRP from here https://dl.twrp.me/nash/ load it using fastboot and the in TWRP click reboot and select EDL.
Let me know if you face any issue.
i'm on the same boat
no celluler, no IMEI
wifi and bluetooth working
Everyone keeps trying to flash pie firmware that isn't for their variant and this is the result, no baseband. Plus once you upgrade to a pie modem, you can't go back to an oreo modem. Maybe something will come along and remedy that, that's a big maybe too. The devs are trying to find a solution, but there just might not be one. You can't blankflash your way out of it, and if you're not careful you can brick your phone for real. Not 9008 brick, paperweight. Not trying to be an ass, just trying to warn others. If it isn't pie for your phone, don't flash it.
Blankflash doesn't work anyways.
Stand by we are working on another fix.

Let me know if you need this fastboot_nash_verizon_oem_vzw_user_9_PCX29.159-21_10d9a_release-keys-cid2_vzw.tar.gz. I have got it from @oslov a member of discord.
I have tried this in this sequence but still zero IMEI.
1. Nougat Blank flash
2. Flashed Stock Verizon Oreo and then staying in bootloader mode I flashed above Pie Update using Flash-All batch file.
Phone successfully booted with Verizon sim activation warning but IMEI was 0.
I thought I should update you guys.
Thanks
Oslov is my discord nick.
Confusing I know, lol.
Be careful with that file, we don't fully understand it yet. I gave it to you because, how much worse off can you be really?

I have resolved the 0 IMEI issue with the help of R-T-B, by doing undo Sim/network Unlock. changing CHMOD of id_00 to 0770
so now I am facing sim/network locked,
So whenever i unlock the sim/network lock i get 0 IMEI issue.
I will appreciate if someone now can help me to unlock SIM/network lock while keeping IMEI
I am currently on Retail pie with Sim/Network Locked. Phone Model is Sprint XT1789-03, dual sim enabled
I am seeing a lot of folks who are still (year later) unable to enjoy custom ROM with T-Mobile devices, so I wanted to quickly post this easy method for enjoying your device with FULL DATA. If you are using a T-Mobile branded OnePlus 9 Pro and have accepted all normal OTA updates as of 9/8/22, you should be on C.19 firmware.
Assuming you have already unlocked your bootloader, you can safely upgrade to EU C.62 firmware found at:

I completed this process while already on Nameless but it should work for others too. No more dodgy modules, hacked MSMDownloadTools or sorta working phones. Note, firmware and local updates are NOT the same. You are not cross-flashing to an entirely new software but ONLY required firmware modules for latest custom ROMs. Hope this helps!
P.S. if you receive any error while sideloading your new firmware, DO NOT unplug or reboot your phone. Repeat the process until it's completed successfully.
So you are saying no need to msm to EU first? I am on C.19, is this supposed to be flashed in fastboot? No modem issues??

That's exactly what I am saying, fastboot flash the firmware only and say goodbye to data issues.
My system update is showing c.17 as the latest update. I can't seem to get c.19. Would switching to eu firmware delete user data too?

Appreciate this post. Do you plan on keeping this updated as EU gets updates?

Why does this work where the eu msm converter has problems with the modem? After you flash this firmware can you take future ota updates without modem issues as well?
The latest firmware from non-branded OnePlus 9 Pro is now available!

This finally brings those of us on T-Mobile, especially closer to the bleeding edge.
Is this file modified in any way? Why didn't the people in the conversion thread do this before? I just don't get it, help me understand how we are avoiding all those problems. Can you also share the fastboot commands you use to flash this firmware please? Thank you.

Of course, it's modified because OnePlus doesn't create firmware packages for our community. However, the files within the package are original dumps.
You can easily sideload this fix through your custom recovery using adb sideload OP9PRO_Android12_C63_NA_Firmware.zip for example.
Ok, one last question, are we able to take ota updates after doing the sideload? I know this is the latest firmware so there won't be any but in the future are we able to take ota?
Question:
1-what room is best for my LE2127 for daily use
2-Hasselblad camera exist a app
3-what TWRP are we using now
thanks in advance
Could someone please post steps to sideload Le2127 to EU / Global C.62EU / C.63NA No data loss ?
can I sideload this from t-mobile c.17? Also what recovery can I use? TWRP is for android 11

Should I just select oneplus 8 pro as the device? The 9 pro technically isn't supported. I also can't get my computer to recognize my phone in recovery so sideloading is not working, all drivers installed and my pc recognizes my phone in any other state.

Do the other option and go from there.
The Tool All In One is a great tool with many uses. You can choose the OP8P and it will work for OP9P. My question is will this really work side loading C.62 or C.63 on Le2127 and not lose data. I still have yet to read a clear guide on doing this. Also there's a lot of us that still use the TMO 9 Pro but I don't see anyone responding to this thread sharing that it really works. It would be nice but I'm not even gonna try until I know for sure that it really does work !
