Only fetching data from a specified SIM 1,
SIM 2 is not running data.
After changing the SIM, the other SIM is running.
Before, it used to run in two seams.
And
Data is on from SIM 1 but after restarting the phone, SIM 2 data is on.
Is there a solution to this problem?

Hi guys, I wanted to open this thread to expose the quite strange behavior I am observing on my oneplus 3.
I use two sims. Both have 3G and LTE fully compatible with op3 bands.
Here is the behavior I am witnessing:
1) Let say I start my phone with data enabled on sim 1.
2) phone starts I have data on sim 1 no data sim 2.
3) I start tethering using the wifi hotspot feature. I connect either with an iPad or W7 or W10 laptop
4) devices can access the Internet using op3 hotspot.
5) now I deactivate hotspot. I switch sim data from sim 1 to sim 2.
6) after a minute or so sim 1 no longer has data enabled and sim 2 has 3G/LTE access through the phone.
7) I switch tethering back on.
8) none of my devices are able to access the internet despite having internet directly with the phone.
Only workaround is to restart the phone with data on sim 2 enabled in order to get data access using tethering on sim 2
Based on my experience, is this an expected behavior?
If choose I tried switching sim slots but no luck. I am questioning myself. Is it an issue on one of the sims or Wirth thé phone?
Anyone had a similar experiencece to share?
Thanks
I've been having a similar issue:
OP3 with OOS 3.2.7.
I have two 4G SIMs, one 3 UK and one EE UK. I can use data (3G/4G) on either without issues and swap between them via the settings on the phone, no problem. I can tether on the 3 UK SIM no problem, both with and without the EE SIM in the second slot or first slot.
The EE SIM will not tether at all in the phone, no matter if it is by itself, with the 3 SIM, in slot 1 or 2, but the SIM does work and tether in my trusty Nexus 4.
I've checked the APN settings and done a network settings reset (Settings > Backup & reset > Network settings reset) but nothing helped.
There's a similar thread on the OnePlus forums here.
I am from India and have two sim cards on my device.
Sim 1 - Jio which only works on the 4g spectrum and calls are over VoLTE.
Sim 2 - Vodafone which can work on 2g/3g/4g. Calls are not over VoLTE.
I have data packs on both the numbers.
In the settings when I switch my data subscription to Sim 2 i.e. Vodafone, the phone immediately enables 4g on Sim 2 thereby disabling Sim 1 because the Sim 1 only works on 4g.
I would have had no problem if the phone could just let me use my Vodafone Data on 3g but no, it forces the it to use it on 4g and therefore if I want to use data on my Sim 2 I can no longer user Sim 1.
Is there a work-around for this issue?
Phone looses 4G Data & Call function on turning off data. APN Settings auto deleting.
Hey, I bought a Nokia 6 2018 a couple days ago. Its great but has this one problem. I am using the Indian Model TA-1089.
I have 2 SIM Cards, one is by carrier JIO and another by TATA DOCOMO. I use the JIO SIM as prefered SIM for Data, Calling and SMS. When I put the JIO SIM in SIM Slot 1 and start the phone, it works uptil I turn off Data. Once I turn off Data and let the phone sit for a few mins, the next time I turn on Data the phone doesn't latch onto 4G connection and I don't get internet connection. Also, I cannot place any calls via the same SIM. When I try to place a call, I get a popup saying "Mobile network not available". Although I can receive calls for some reason.
While trying to find the cause of the issue I found out that when the problem occurs, the APN settings are automatically deleted from settings. If I try to manually add APN Profile with the correct values and try to save it, the profile doesn't get saved at all. Also, resetting the APN does nothing.
I tried resetting the network but the problem persists. Factory reset didn't fix it either. Tried another 4G SIM and the same problem occured with it.
Restarting the phone fixes the issue temporarily. So does deactivating and activating it. But its such a hassle.
Surprisingly when I put the JIO SIM in SIM Slot 2, it worked flawlessly. But it still doesn't mean the SIM slot 1 issue is fixed.
Has anyone else had this issue? Please help.
Hi guys just got redmi note 8 pro and almost every time I go out of reach of wifi my mobile data doesn't work. It happens also if I manually tuen off wifi. I have the H+ icon like it is connected but I don't have data connection. The issue is resolved if I go in and out of airplane mode then I have data connection again. If I just turn off and on data connection in the quick settings it does nothing. APN settings are set and working ok.
MIUI global 11.0.3.
did u find any solution.....
if you are using any 3rd party VPN or using custom DNS then please disable them and try again.
I had the same issue. I emailed Xiaomi's support and also posted it in the Mi community forum. Followed everything (except factory resetting the phone) but nothing was working.
Finally, I was able to find a solution that has fixed this issue for me (I've spent almost a day and haven't experienced it yet).
I was using a single SIM card on my phone. My SIM card only supported 3G network. After trying all the solutions, I grabbed another SIM card (of another network provider) and put it in the second SIM slot. This new SIM card also supports 4G LTE.
At this moment, my phone has 2 SIM cards. One supports only 3G and the other also supports 4G LTE. Though my default mobile data is still set to my original SIM card (3G).
After using two sims simultaneously, I've not experienced this issue again.
So I assume that Redmi note 8 Pro has a bug that doesn't allow mobile data to work properly if there is a single 3G SIM card present in the phone.
I have the same issue.
Works for sometime then suddenly no internet even when it's showing 4G+ sign. I have to turn off the data then on again to get it working which is annoying.
Same issue even with dual sim installed.
I recently started using a second sim. I am trialling another network so it might be temporary or it might not.
I left my original sim in slot 1 and put the new one in slot 2 and set calls and messages to slot 1 and data to slot 2 as mobile data performance is what I want to test and I do not want to impact people trying to call me. What I noticed when I did this that only the new sim card 2 showed as connected under mobile network state sim card 1 was showing as disconnected.
My expectation was that they should both be connected?
