Xiaomi Mi 9 SE Dualboot - Xiaomi Mi 9 SE Questions & Answers

Hey.
I was wondering about dualboot on my Xiaomi Mi 9 SE.
I'd like to try Kali Linux with pure Android.
I have a few questions:
Android is Linux based operating system, can I use terminal to install, e.g. Python?
Does pure Android contains pre-installed system apps, e.g. Google Play?
I am not laic, but I don't want to do something bad.
I guess I have to have:
Two operating system partitions (two ROMS?)
Partition for bootloader to load both os's partitions
Can anyone give me some link to tutorial or something like this?

It looks like yes it is possible!
Oreo SDK images should be A-only, and P should be A/B (every new P device will be A/B)

Thant you for the information!!
In fact I going to try to play with treble and MIUI Rom, but I only have one phone, and I didn't want to spend my time between testing and restoring my phone
I've had Android X86 Oreo on a Dell laptop, everything working except WiFi. That's running from a live DVD, the laptop has Android X86 64 bit Nougat installed and WiFi does work on that.
And what has this to do wih OP's question?
After some test, it seems unfortunately, Android SDK emulator isn't able to run Arm64 Oreo images... It only support x86 images...

[Solved]I can't install any treble rom

How to solve this problem: using arm32_binder64 treble gsi
I have A605K device, and on treble checker, it showed that i can install treble rom, but i can't get seemless update(it means i have to install a partitioned rom) so i tried many roms
uname -m -> aarch64
arch -> armv8l
i have installed arm64_a versions, but there wasn't anything working one, when i flashed system image and reboot, A6+ logo appears 6~8 second, and it reboots
i can't boot properly.. how can i fix this problem?
The only thing "unusual" with the A6+ is that it's a 64bits CPU running 32bits OS, with 64bits binder.
But that's standard in Android Pie.
So if you build pure AOSP GSI, you just use aosp_arm target.
For my GSI, that would be treble_a64_xxx (like treble_a64_avS-userdebug) target

OxygenOS 10 Dynamic Software Update support

Hi everyone,
On the Android website I've read about the Dynamic Software Update. A feature that comes with Android 10 and lets anyone run a GSI based image without flashing on their Treble compatible phone.
The requirements also state that the phone has dynamic partition activated.
Now that we've got Android 10 on our OP5T is this feature enabled?
I've tried running all the commands, the DSU application starts but there is no install of the GSI image.
Is something that I need to do?
Thanks,
SYA

Stock Android 10, I want to flash HavocOS 3.6 GSI with Android 10

Hello there, I have a fully-compatible treble Motorola One Action (not rooted, no twrp, bootloader was not unlocked[yet])
I was wondering, can I flash a GSI ROM with Android 10, having already Android 10?
Looked on Android Devs site, no answer for this question.
I have to mention that my device has AB partitions.
Please help me!

Yes. Project Treble is independent from the android version as long as your device comes with minimum Android 8 out of the box (cause with Android 8 Project Treble was introduced).
Of course your current Stock will be replaced. And you need a unlocked bootloader to boot a GSI (which probably will lead to a wipe of your data so backup it first).

Adding to the post by the other user, it's VERY recommended to:
Install Twrp (whatever is latest)
Use Twrp to flash "permissiver v4 or v5" (Google it )

Dsu loader for motrola z play

Does Motorola z play comes with super partitions because I am new in flashing ROM and stuff so I don't have a good grasp over the knowledge of ROMs and gsi. So I want to install android 12 gsi on my Motorola z play I have installed android 11 but when I go in settings at dsu loader and try to install it. It shows install failed. My phone does support project treble but not dynamic partition so idk what to do? And I want to use android 12.

Dynamic partitions is a feature of some phones that shipped with Android 10+.
This device uses regular partitions, and it's compatible with A-only GSIs.
