Samsung Smart Switch "Convert Contact.spbm file" - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Ok so I did a backup of my phone using Samsung Smart Switch
After upgrading my phone to Android-10 from Android-7 on my S6 I can't restore my backup.
The software says "Unknown Device" It's most important that I get my contacts back that are stored in Contact.spbm
Has anyone posted a fix for this?
I have tried searching and tried many things already and a lot of sites are fake claiming to convert the file to only get virus warnings
Any help would be great.
Thanks

For those with update error: 800705B4; 80180080; solution posted

Hey guys. After many frustrated days searching for a solution to "The timer ran out on what we were trying to do.", I found today an official solution posted by Microsoft.
So, for those with either:
800705B4: The timer ran out on what we were trying to do.
OR
80180080: We couldn't update your phone because your operating system might be corrupt.
search for "WPSupportTool" in google (Article ID: 2530409) and download for your Windows PC. (Sorry; can't post links!)
This is the best solution so far to update without erasing/reseting your phone. Enjoy!
From their article:
"Try using the Windows Phone Support Tool. The Windows Phone Support Tool is an application that fixes problems that prevent your Windows Phone 7 from updating successfully. The tool only works for the two error codes listed in the Symptoms section."
How can I use the WP Support Tool on Leo - HD2 > it doesn't have "camera button"
I've also been stuck with 800705B4 for months now. Very frustrating.
I believe I've tried everything...
I can't even unlock my SD card because I also get the 800705B4 error when I try to send the unlocker file via cab sender.
Well, I guess we just have to hope until there's a fix for the 800705B4 on HD2
if i use this tool (WPSupportTool) is it going to erase my phone ?
what about interop-unlock ? am i going to loose it ?
i'll really appreciate your answers
Erase phone: REALLY?? Read the first post:
"This is the best solution so far to update without erasing/reseting your phone."
Remove interop-unlock: highly unlikely, although a few updates do that for anybody.
The obvious answer is make sure you have a backup/restore point (if possible) so you can roll back if something gets messed up.

[Q] I have problems with samsung kies...need help.

Its sound beginner questions. But after search I couldn't find the answer that I'm looking for.
Here are my problems...
1. When I open the kies, it says there is a new version 2.2.0.12014.18. Do you want to upgrade?
When I say yes...its keeps on downloading even though max. file size is 63Mb it went over 1.5GB so I have to cancel it.
2. When I go to Samsung download site and choose kies 2.0 for PC, at the end of scanning file it says it's not safe to use it. It may be a malware or virus contains it...so asks me either delete it or choose action for it.
What should I do?
Ignored and install it or should I wait for new version of kies come out?

Problem restoring .ab file

So I've tried doing a lot of research before starting a new thread on this, but to no avail. The other day I rooted my phone but before doing so I made an .ab backup of my apps using UBT. It wasn't until yesterday that I decided to flash a new ROM. So after it's all set up and such, I connect my device, launch UBT, use the restore command, and get "Restore failed!" Paths are correct, drivers all installed, but nothing seems to be working. So I tried using adb instead to restore, but just get the error of "unable to connect for backup." It's really just a pain in the ass to re-download all my apps and lose all the data that went along with the games and such, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Running 4.2.1

Hi, I know this post is a little old but I had a problem similar to yours and I managed to find a solution.
When setting the path did you remember to add the .ab at the end? i.e. C:\Android Stuff\Backup.ab
I kept getting Restore failed! because of it.
Hope it helps!

[Q] MTP USB Device?

I thought I was doing great after uninstalling bloatware. However, when I tried to connect my Note 2 to my PC via USB I received the error that MTP USB Device driver could not be loaded. Apparently I must have uninstalled something on my Note 2 that is not allowing me to connect to the PC via USB. I have been searching for days, read many postings with the same problem, downloading various Driver apps to no avail. I even downloaded and installed Samsung Drivers which also did not work. I still can use my USB plug from NOTE 2 to my Flash Drive to get stuff transfered to/from Note2/PC.
It never ends. Fix one thing and then another pops up. LOL
What else can I say except - H-E-L-P.
What de-bloater tool did you use ?
Does it show the apps it uninstalled ?
By default any de-bloater should only delete apps from /system/app and
/data/app.
Have you considered starting over by flashing root injected stock Rom?

I did not use any de-bloater. I used Titanium Backup Pro (TBP) and have a complete list of all apks uninstalled.
In TBP under Backup/Restore all apks uninstalled are listed. Plus, I kept a list of all that I deleted.
No, I have not considered starting over by flashing root injected stock ROM. Thought about it, however, if I
do flash, I'm back to square one.
If I don't resolve this one problem, I will remain at this point until new OS comes out. I do have a work around for time being.
I do appreciate your help, time and concern. Thank you.
What really amazes me is that this problem is all over the Internet and I can't find a simple solution. I have Googled it,
been on here doing searches, reading postings, etc. I have even tried Driver Booster.

Sometimes we miss something small and obvious. Have you disabled USB debugging mode in Developer options?

Tried this and again no success.
Method 3 – Ensure you have the right settings By default my phone was already set to the right settings for USB file transfers so I’ll assume most of these ship with the same configuration, hence why I have this as method 3. I found this on a forum and while it did not work for me, it seems a few other folks declared it a success.
1. Launch the phone key pad on your note and press *#7284# (don’t forget to start with that * symbol!) When you press the last pound sign (#) this will bring up an option that will allow you to change your USB connection settings (modem or PDA) – change it to PDA.
I did not get any option that allowed me to change the USB Connection settings when I entered *#7284#. So I dialed that number and got an error Unable to process request.
Tried new USB cable and it still tried to load/install device drivers but not successful. Same error MTP USB Device Failed.
Thanks again for trying to help. I do appreciate your help and time. Still looking for a resolution.

Perhaps you may not have the system file Phone Utility 1.0.0 or corrupted.

Yes, I do have Phone UTL as shown in TBP. How do I access it? I can't under the Method 3.

I am trying to find out if you have all the files and compare with my files to find out why I can access phone utility and you can't. Your issue may be the driver or files idk. Tbh, I am not an expert. Just another android enthusiast trying to help. I have Tweaked Rom so mine may be different. I have found 2 system files in TBU, Service Mode and MTP Application. Do you have them also? Does service mode work for you when you dial, for example, *#0011#?
SUCCESS-Thanks to Y-O-U!!!!

Samsung Galaxy SII: Can't activate usb modem (3g)

Hello! I used to own an SGH-T989, it was rooted and I messed around with some core files it seems, via deleting "unwanted" applications. Anyway, I reset it to factory defaults, it soft bricks. I use the tutorial to unbrick, and phone starts up. It can be used to call, and it mostly works (though I no longer possess it, so there's probably more errors around), but a core feature my uncle needed was the ability to give internet to a pc via usb. We get an error when we attempt to enable this, it reads:
"Mobile data is not available, or invalid SIM".
Neither of these are true, since we've tried it on other phones. After that, I've attempted to install mods to see if the problem is fixed. Cyanogenmod installs ok, but can't even make calls now.
What should I do? Thank you for your time.
