Instructions

Use a 3rd party camera app rather than the built in one, it's pretty good with Footej camera.

What's your variant? Did you wipe everything before you flashed? Do you have the latest TWRP (3.3.1)?
4.1 great rom , no calls for the 928/w8
Loaded this rom on is the G920w8 Note 5 , disregard the title,,
Great rom : clean , fast , magisk gives root access :victory:no bloat ware at all and everything works except phone calls and VoLte, Text works fine however.
I would use this rom if VoLte and phone calls worked :highfive:

I made a mistake
My phone is actually the g920w8 note 5... so the calls may work fine for the g928 version ... just realized
if anyone else has a g920w8 note 5 please let me know if calls work for them, thanks

New builds out, calls, bluetooth, etc have been fixed! This has been a few months in the works. Improved battery life and performance too

Update: Fixed had to update TWRP to 3.4.x.x
Installed ROM and Nano Gapps everything works perfect except for no audio phone calls.

Not very often at hal on g928f....happens 1/20 calls maybe...and barley noticable

I've installed the on SM-G928T - coming from the following Nougat Stock rom : G928TUVS6ERH1 - and the phone is unable to detect any sim card :crying:

This ROM was created by none other than the great Martin Coulon (@martinusbe). This was created as a side project during his 'free' time while waiting for GZR's Validus & Tesla builds to update. Now if you are wondering why it is called Tipsy, you guessed it. He was actually somewhat drunk when he made it, and even now, most updates/fixes are done while happilyintoxicated, thus keeping the Tipsy motto. It was initially done for the OnePlus One as a joke, however, the love for this ROM was so huge, it found it's way out. We just couldn't keep it to ourselves. Within a few days, it had spread like wildfire to a plethora of different devices.
Tipsy has a slim base, and only the useful and necessary stuff was added, including a few extra features to keep up with the competition out there. Tipsy fully supports Layers (RRO) and has the Layers manager app built-in. CM is kept to the barest minimum here, and is only added/used ONLY as needed.
I will try to keep this updated as much as possible, but if you feel like getting the info as it comes out along with some nice graphics, check it out here:

yeah.. patch is required.. get the patch from my OrionLP ROM's link n flash n about the battery life.. its pretty decent as reported by the testers
@vibhu009 great going!! another ROM from you, so its testing time ... BTW switching to second sim for data toggle is working in this one? Second screenshot that you have given is showing that second sim is selected for data connection. Is the selection holding up, or reverting back to sim1? Nevertheless I will try it.. i don't know why but after flashing mi2 patch only my second sim connect to internet so it's important to me to have this feature. is it working?

a) NO SERVICE bug.
On lockscreen it is a notification about NO SERVICE (picture1).But my phone = OKNo problem.Calls + 3G data = OK (picture2+ picture3).
b)InCallUI screen delay.
When I make a call InCallUI screen show up after 3-5s.Log InCallUIdelay.
Work process:
1.Start logcat,wait few secodns.
2.Make a call,wait until InCallUI shows up.End call.
3.Wait few seconds,stop logcat.
b) Wifi delay.
On my phone wifi = setup "do not keep alive wifi in deep sleep"
Work process:
1. Put my phone in deep sleep,wait 30 minutes.
2. Wakeup,unlock my phone.
3. Quickly start logcat and wait until wifi = back again (5-7 s).
4. Wait few seconds,stop logcat.
5-7 s is too much.On XenonHD was 1-2 s( maybe you can change this value).
Log = Wifidelay.
c) Display rotation
I can't disable display rotation in Settings.:banghead:
Work process:
1. Start logcat,wait few seconds
2. Disabled 2 times display rotation.Phone can't "remember".
3. Wait few seconds,stop logcat.

d) BATTERY LIFE
If you can, please,try to improve battery drain.It's important.
This rom can be used as a daily driver,but need improvements.Hope in a next version,because it is a gooood rom.
I am trying to help you,because this rom can the best(Android 5.1.1 r 10,fast,stable(more than 36 h without problems),AOSP.
For now, switch back to XenonHD.

thought to give it a try so installed the ROM as it always has been my favorite but unfortunately, unable to detect my SIM 1 but setup shows jio 4g for data. Unable to connect to Wifi as well and setup stuck at no network connection.
First impressions: can't say about battery cause I'm using for a few hours only. It's very smooth, haven't got bugs on camera, but it seems a bit slower than aosip. Also the auto night mode doesn't work. Haven't tested the daylight mode.
Will keep it for a couple of days to test a bit more.

Moto z camera doesn't work if changing DPI. In aosip it worked. Is it possible that there is some change in the code for changing DPI?
The auto brightness doesn't seem so responsive in lights changing during daylight also.
IMHO, they are minor bugs that doesn't matter much in this ROM

In settings > screen I believe you can change this setting
Everything works but the 4g, i tryed a lot of things but i can't make it work, wifi works fine.

4g here is fine. The only thing is that after install it stays 3g unless you change it in network settings

I got problem: after flashing the rom without problem, the phone turn on, but when i press the button "Setup as new device", Setup Wizard keep stop working. I encouter this issues in almost new build of RR rom and LineageOS, I dont see this issues in old build....
Is baterry draining fixed in this rom ?

I have problem with foldermount app v2.9.11 in this rom...If the game data/bb is still in the internal storage the game starts just fine but when I moved the data/obb to external storage it keeps on crashing. How to fix?

Is this rom stable about sound
Bad incomplete rom 1) setup wizard stoping ( i had to mount system then had to delete setup wizard from priv. app.)
2)home and recents button not working in zenfone max
3)cannot pull full quick setting panel
4)little bit slow animations (still no app installed)
5)#east west aim rom is the best

Do the necessary wipes and flash the ROM.
No wipes are needed between updates from Descendant itself, unless specified.
If you're having problem with SafetyNet, please, install Magisk along the following modules:
SafetyPatcher
Magisk Hide Props.
But please, mind, we won't support any issue arising from Magisk nor relative modules.

It's perfect rom except for that I can't use Google camera may be in next update
Update Nikita gcam works fine so I can say the rom is perfect now no problems I really enjoy it
Can you add option to switch to 2G or switch off mobile data when phone is sleeping/screen off?

This rom is absolutely incredible ! I love it but there are too many reboots on gingko ! It's not stable at all ! Please do something about it !

Awesome rom, had been used for two days.
Build: descendant-X-OFFICIAL-ginkgo-20200806.zip
My device is Redmi Note 8T EEA
Cons:
1. No inbuild camera. However, any gcam should work, I use TrGcam 7.1, any essential function works.
2. Recordie app causes device crashed and restart. I will give the dmesg if it just occurred to me. All permission has been given.
3. Very minimum customization, almost none. I can't even swap button position.
4. NFC doesn't work properly. The switch is there, it can read NFC cards, but can't receive or send files.
5. While phonegraph is open source, it has locked functionalities as in app purchase.
6. Some fonts are quite tiny compare to normal, like quick tiles titles' font, fortunately I like to hide qs titles.
7. For those looking for call recording, no it isn't there.
Now the goods:
1. Guardia is really, really nice addition to the rom, salute to that.
2. Battery life is awesome. I'm just a casual daily user with occasional photo taker, going around with gps, ordering taxi, foods with gps, little internet browsing, no games at all. Battery stands 1 day with those all high activities. Deep sleep works.
3. All major function works. GPS is quickly locked with all GLONASS, Baidou, etc. Camera works with gcam. Fingerprint works. Wifi, Bluetooth, hotspot, works so far. Phone call doesn't have any problems. Can't tell about volte. FM radio works, infra red works.
4. It has UI that quite distinguish from other aosp. Like the quick tiles, sound level adjuster, the notification, all is good looking, I'm very pleased with it.
What I would like to see for the next build:
1. Recordie is either fixed, to be replaced with something else that work, or gone.
2. Same applies to phonegraph. I'd rather install my own music player.
3. Please start adding some customization.
Overall, it's a very good rom, I'm looking forward for the next build.

Did this but it still does not show up in the files app. It does show up in settings>storage but i cannot access my files
How do i flip my navigation buttons to have the back button on the right side and the recents button on the left side?

this is strange. it worked for me, try to show hidden files. it looks like it's a google file bug.

And a tip on how to add root will be more than welcome.
And the DPI at install is off :? not even the fingerprint icon doesn't line with the sensor

I've been trying this rom for more than 24 hours and so far so good ..
The lack of the features made me think I really have a Pixel phone lol it's just like stock rom (and that's a good point).

So far so good, except screen sensitivity is weird. It was good on PE GSI 11

I experienced the same issue. I copied the mixer_gains.xml file from the stock samsung rom and replaced the one in this rom and now call volume is fine
Hi everyone, I try this rom for 24h and it is really smooth. But i have an issue with Google maps. When I open Google maps, the UX getting very big and i am not able to back to home screen.
Thanks for the fast download links. Downloaded and gonna give it a shot. Just wanna see how far this rom goes. Would be nice to have most of the features working.
