The app checks for su binaries then says your os isn't supported
Solved by changing from supersu to magisk

I thought you needed an unlocked bootloader for that to work?

You can use mr.bump after flash magisk, that will do the trick. In my case magisk breaks my rom RIL but there is another option, Chainfire's suhide. You can use it with Super SU without problem and it hides root from each app individually.

Yep.
So for me (i'm on android aosp 7.0) i dont think that mathers but...
Before you do this make sure that you have no root or xposed
The steps are the following:
1 - On twrp terminal enter these 2 comands (to ensure systemless root)
echo SYSTEMLESS=true>>/data/.supersu
echo BINDSYSTEMXBIN=false>>/data/.supersu
2- Flash the latest SuperSU v2.78 SR1 or newer
3- Flash mr.bump or cbump (to bump the kernel)
4- Reboot the phone and see if you have root
5- Use FlashFire from chainfire (because twrp doesnt work well, dont know why) to flash suhide
6- If all goes well you should have saftynet pass (pokemon and androidpay are already on blacklist)

Thank you very much. I actually found it in the download section of this thread.
I'm using cloudyg3 2.5 rom. Any ideas if magisk will work with it?
Dunno if Magisk works anymore, there's a dedicated thread in the Magisk forum. On my S3 (which is my backup phone) I have it all installed, excluding xposed. suhide works.

Might reinstall the NamelessROM today to see if only systemless SuperSU and suhide are enough.
Dear all,
I have my Z1C on the latest FW with Dual Recovery and root (SuperSU) but locked bootloader. Now, some apps will not run when they detect root. Can I "unroot" the phone in a convenient way and "re-root" when needed? Without using King Root and while keeping all my data etc.?
Cheers,
Ben
If you are willing to use Xposed, you can use a module called "RootCloak" which is used for hidding root from such apps which don't work unless your phone is not rooted.

Thanks. So Xposed works with Dual Recovery/locked bootloader?
I was hoping I could just uninstall SuperSU and re-flash it in TWRP to re-gain root.

I think it works with Dual Recovery, I'm not entirely sure though, same for Lock/Unlock BL but it should not impact how it works.
Also there is an option in several app for Root to disable it (Completely but you can re-enable it very easily)

There is in the version of SuperSU I am using, but it doesn't seem to work for the banking app I tried. Root cloak reportedly works for it, but I was unsure if Xposed would work with my config and did not want to risk a boot loop or similar.

It should work independently of your recovery so no worries. You can still download the zip to uninstall in case of something gone wrong or do a Nandroid backup to be sure

I guess I'll try this WE.
I tried it. In SuperSU settings I chose permanent unroot, rebooted, and voilĂ : The banking app worked. Then I flashed the latest SuperSU in TWRP, and root was back. Neat!
I've seen posts instructing how to root via SuperSu and Magisk; I know those methods have to be done a certain way because of the partition system. But I have not seen any posts about Kingroot. Would it work the successfully? I imagine it going like this:
1) root with Kingroot
2) boot to TWRP via ADB
3) flash TWRP
4) flash SuperSU if desired
Or
4) if desired, flash a kernel, flash Magisk, flash TWRP again
5) boot to system, uninstall Kingroot
Does that sound right? Would Kingroot even work to begin with?

Why use kingroot? Remove the first step and you basically have hot to flash su..

True, but if you happen to want to root while away from a computer it could be useful.
In any case, it was simply a curiosity about whether it would even work at all. I doubt I'd ever use Kingroot for my Pixel.

Oh okay. I was just curious. I haven't tried kingroot but since rooting requires patching the boot.img and I don't know if you can do that while booted into the OS I'd say no. I am only assuming how kingroot works but again whatever the solution it needs to be able to make changes to the boot.img without already having root privs.
The closest solution I would see is having twrp already loaded.

Even if it did work it wouldn't work the way you are describing. King Root basically acts like malware and refuses to give root privileges to any app that interferes with its functioning. Adaway won't work with King Root because adware is part of the King Root program. You also wouldn't be able to install SU while King Root is on your phone. King Root will actively prevent you from installing any other root program. People used to be able to do what you describe but King Root was updated to prevent you from installing SU.
Hi, so i want to root my phone but i still want to pass SafetyNet. So i found the systemless Magisk root. But i am a bit cofused on how to get it.
I have a stock LG G3. No Custom Recovery, no root and locked bootloader.
So if i want Magisk could i root my phone with someting like Kingroot (It is the easiest way that i found) then get TWRP with the TWRP official app from the app store, then unroot the phone and flash the latest magisk with TWRP?
Will i still pass SafetyNet even though i rooted with Kingroot? Will i have to factory reset the phone in the process? (I don't want to lose my data)
Please help me. Thank you a lot.
Some work with root. what about the 1+5T?
Im using tez, phone pay rooted with magisk.

Dunno if this is the same on 4.7.6 but running the Open Beta 2 and it works when rooted with Magisk and, but not when I have no root. So I guess it's detecting the bootloader status and thus, magisk will work.
I'm using it right now with magsik 15.3. If u unlock the boot loader u will never pass safety net which is requires to use these applications. But if u flash magisk it will pass safety net and u will be able to use it. Super su won't work

Just so OP doesn't get the wrong idea: You have to unlock the bootloader for any root method. And once you root, you should never ever re-lock the bootloader (unless you flash completely back to stock).
Magisk root method will allow cloaking both the bootloader status and root so that Android Pay works perfectly. I've never had an issue.
Yea I'll echo what's been said. Android pay has worked on my op3 and now my 5t rooted, with magisk hide.
