I am stationed in Japan and I have been with AU Kddi for approximately 4yrs now. When I heard the announce that they would finally carry a "smart" phone I was excited. I went in and purchased the E30HT if I am not mistaken it is similar to the HTC Touch Pro in the states. My problem is this: Most of the options are in Japanese. I am not familar enough with the language to take advantage of all the phone's features. Is there a way to convert the OS to English or is it a rom or procedure out to convert the phone to English. I appreciate all help given.

Thanks for trying, but that is not what I am looking for. Mirrorlink is something more specific.

I was just searching through Google to see if huawei had released the source code for Honor 8x.
Guess what!!!!
It is there in the open kirin website. I've downloaded it but I'm not a dev.
So I'm sharing this here so that someone with kirin soc development experience can work with this and possibly, get the development going for Honor 8x.

I think only because of bootloader unlock not available officially for Honor anymore.
probably because it now costs 50 dollars to unlock the bootloader

i got my H8X today, including my unlock code (previous owner bought one).
I'll add support for EMUI9 based AOSP builds in the future.

They both are different one is based on Kirin and another is based on Snapdragon processor.

I know it's crazy no one has picked up development for it but I know it's the whole bootloader thing that is turning people off it sucks

Glad to here 8x will receive some developer suppost at least. Pity my bootloader is locked. I'm still searching for a way to unlock. Till now, no success.

In their Huawei FAQ, most models can be rooted, I saw 8x, 8x Max (EMUI8) , Honor Play, Honor V10 (View 10), although they did not mention the latest phones. Some comments and review are from 2019!
EMUI9 updated-phones also can be rooted, best not to update before rooting. Try messaging the staff for best answer.

I have a Huawei Watch 3, and it's almost 3 years since I have it, but Huawei simply doesn't want to update/activate de Google Pay services here in Romania (South/Central Europe).
Is there any mod or app that I can install to make payments possible with the Google Pay app in my region? When I open Huawei Health I can see the cards section but only "loyalty cards", and that's not what I need.
Before opening this thread I've searched the YouTube for something useful, but nothing that would help me... I'm sick of waiting for Huawei to update/active the payments for Romania.
