Is this normal for system storage??? - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

On my 512gb Ultra 59.7 gb of that 512 gb is currently being used. Only 12% so not a problem. But here is my question. out of that 59.7gb there is 46.9 gb is being used for system memory. That seems like a crazy amount. Is android 10 and Samsung bloatware using up that much storage these days? On my Galaxy Tab s6 with 256 gb storage the system storage used on that is 27.1gb. Not running out of space on either device just curious if it is normal for this much space to be used by android and samsung bloatware.

Do you have a screenshot showing the useage? Seems extremely high

It's normal. Around 10% is always reserved for system memory regardless of the size of your internal storage.
512gb will have around 50gb reserved.
256gb will have around 25gb reserved.

Thanks for that info. That explains what I was seeing 512gb vs 256gb.

Have you tried the LOST.dir directory on the internal SD card, Mine was over 10GB of data from failed transfers. Deleted it all, solved my problem

1.02Gb of RAM usage? Wtf!
I'm running Hyperdrive ROM and it's pretty cool but the ram usage is freaking high!
I know that it isn't spouse to be bad because of the android ram management and all that stuff, but it feels laggy sometimes.
And I was used to 750mb at most when I was running Stock rooted.
Any clue?
What should I do to lower it?

Kill all your apps and such. Also read through the hyper drive thread and check if someone else if having the same problem.

[Q] some doubts with my new device :D (ram & mass memory, camera)

Hi guys
I bought this phone recently and I have probably what may seem silly doubts. They are about Ram memory and Mass storage memory amounts.
The phone it's supposed to come with 1 GB of Ram memory and 4 GBs of mass memory. But when I mess around with the pone I see different things:

}
Why just 723 mb of ram -mostly taken by the system lol. So where is the rest?
Other thing. Could someone upload any picture made with captivate's cam. Cause I've been taking around some photos and quality it's a bit crapy, I'd say it's even worse than my old N95, even with a higher resolution sensor. It's a pity I guess. Im afraid that this is not a "front line model" in shops so it carries worse guts within than other models like s3, s4.
I'll upload later some pics made by the cam.
By the way, I haven't found how to access mass memory with USB cable. I've read that you need to be root to do it in 4.xx and install some sort of software.
WTF IS THIS. IOS? Come on

[Q] What is the useable space on the 16GB 8.4?

How much space do you actually have available to install apps? My Epic 4G Touch is also 16GB, but I have very little actual room to install apps. I have moved as much as I can to the external SD card as well. I am still in a constant battle for space. When updating apps I often get the message saying it doesn't have enough space. I'd hate to buy a tablet for my son, only to find out I can't install but a small handful of games before running out of room.
I've only installed a couple apps ( no games yet ) and I have 9.76gb available so far

Is it formatted so all the space is together, or is is separated into USB storage and Device Memory like my phone? For example on my phone, although I have a total of 13 GB free only 2GB are available for installing apps. After installing 1.45 GB of apps I only have 256 MB left for updating apps. Even though most downloads are smaller than that I still get issues upgrading some of them.
I'm thinking it's all together, here is what I see

maximum usage of the ram

I heard a story that op3 does not use the complete ram of 6gb. After hitting 4 gb mark it starts to kill background applications. Is it true?. Then we have a 4 gb of ram instead of 6gb is this right
You are probably thinking of this:
ro.sys.fw.bg_apps_limit=60
Resurrection remix use 60 apps in memory now. The last time, Oneplus was using 42 with stock rom. The line can be found in the build.prop file in /system
i have yet to hit the 3gb mark, dunno what 6gb should be good for other than manually increasing the max apps in background

Goodluck with reaching 4GB even with all apps open I'm below that! There is no memory problem.
