It worked perfect for me. Only the astrology mode, which even according to the steps, did not appear in the options to activate. Thanks for the camera, it's great.

Hi @nihar33, this thread is being closed as a GCam thread already exists. Request you to kindly continue the discussion in the below mentioned thread, as having multiple threads for one mod is non-productive.

you should probably credit the source: androidpolice as you took all their images, writeup, and mirrors
let some of the code junkies here are diving in to this see if they can get some stuff working
Motorola took down mediafire, d-h, and mirrorcreator link. May want to remove them.
The image quality isn't going to change and half the features don't work ... Do people really want that kind of "functionality" just for a different UI ? ... Give me the stock Sense camera any day.

After flashing in Cm 11, video recording stopped even in default camera. Uninstaller was of no use. Please avoid flashing in R28
The best camera for the Redmi 1S (and for other phones to) is the original MIUI camera. No doubt about it.
Hope that somebody will port it with it's all functionality (including external SD card saving and HDR) for CM 12.1 use.
(The MIUI camera ported to CM11 is good, but it lacks the above mentioned features and in terms of picture quality is not quite equal with the original MIUI camera app.)
Any other camera apps i'll tried, suffered from severe picture quality problems (grain, noise / or aggresive noise supression, lacking of detail and dynamics, edge sharpness issues, and so on).

Enable Denoise and try again. Only one feature lack is the HDR mode. Of course, xiaomi does'n release kernel source for this feature.
Ex: Snapcamer, cameranextmod
Thanks, the cameranextmod seems to be acceptable.
Can i use this camera in MIUI 7?
Can i use this camera in MIUI 7?
Try a better camera for hdr image. It use native way to capture hdr (capture 3 images w/ different exposure and merge it) but its quality image is. well enough for me

Restart your phone.
If that does not work, try clearing data of camera app in Settings > Manage apps > Camera > Clear data > Clear all data
or try Google Camera.

Hi jc9896,
I have already tried to clear all data of the camera app but the problem not resolved.
I have tried Google Camera and the stabilizer working better with 60fps :good:
I hope that the next update bring 60fps support for the stock camera app.
Thank you jc9896 for your help :good:

odd issue with the camera, my stabilization working fine. maybe try recording a video with and without it enabled and see the difference, perhaps the stabilization is too minimal to be noticed.
60fps support in the stock camera app is also something I want
Maybe my phone has a hardware defect ???
Anyone has the same problem?

both of you try this:
In build.prop add the following line
Code:
persist.vendor.camera.eis.enabled=1
of course to edit build.prop you need root and to root you need to unock bootloader.
They forgot to mention but the redmi note 8 supports video stabilisation only in 1080p in 30 fps. If you want to stabilise other quality footage, you will have to use a third party application.
I've seen it's a trend not to have 1080p 60fps on Pie roms, is there any way, magisk module, setting or any ported camera to do so?
Also could someone help me understand why is this happening? Since oneplus it's a dev-friendly company releasing sources and on top of that our device has native Pie support I don't understand why we don't get 1080p60fps in custom as well, thanks everyone in advance
We do have 1080p 60fps recording on our devices. Even on Gcam ports.

Have you tried using OOS camera or GCam on these Custom ROMS? Also, there's a toggle to enable 60fps on 1080p video mode (on top, usually)

Yeah, of course I have tried, I did some research and found out that I'm not the first one pointing this out, there's this thread and also this reddit post which talks about some OOS camera libs in the comments but I haven't been able to find those anywhere.
I later asked on the Telegram group for Havoc (ROM i'm using right now) and, the guy didn't think twice to tell me that the only option was stock

So, idk what kind of magic do you do with your phone to have 60fps in custom Pie but please, share it with us
I'm on the latest Havoc Pie ROM, using Urmyx Gcam 7.0 mod, and the 1080p 60fps is working just fine.

Hello? Could you please?
Yeah only on stock. All the 60fps options aren't real 60fps. They like 30. Gcam with our device is a massive hack. Back on some pie/android 8 ROMs with some hacks. I was using oos cam with 60fps. But that was many moons ago and haven't seen anything since

Me too
I'm sure a lot of people are in the same predicament that I'm in right now, where you're waiting on crDroid or some other ROM to finally support OOS Cam before you make the switch over to custom ROMs. I finally decided to give GCAM a try before I make the switch so I can determine if it's worth losing OOS Cam or not, and, while it would suck to lose 4K120 recording and some other neat OOS Cam features, what is going on with OOS Cam and bright lights?
I decided to try and take some pictures of my computer after upgrading it and I was extremely disappointed with the way the photos came out. It seriously looks like very bright LEDs just completely overwhelm the processing of OOS. I was ready to call the camera hardware itself bad until I gave GCAM a try. The pictures look like I grabbed an entirely new camera, check it out:
