Just flash the ROM to make it works again. to enter download mode, connect the phone to PC, press and hold volume down + power key, when the screen blank release power key only, then quickly press and hold volume down + volume up.

ROM or firmware is Operating System like OS Windows 7/10. In Android we call it ROM or firmware. You must install or Flash this ROM on your phone. Download the ROM that match with your device model number like SM-A505F, If you have the ROM you must flash it using ODIN tool. If you are not familiar with flashing then you need some one to do it for you.

well just power off your phone by hard reset method .. which you can easily find on YouTube.. then .. press and hold volume up and down simultaneously for 2 seconds .. ( not more than that) and connect usb when the screen turns on to bootloader unlock prompt, let go of the buttons.. then select unlock bootloader mode by using volume keys as directed in the screen .. then enter download Moda by using volume buttons ... and the try flashing twrp again..
p.s-- DON'T FORGET TO INSTALL SAMSUNG DRIVERS BEFORE DOING ALL THESE!!

Hi, I have the same problem and I followed your instructions but while the new firmware is installing from the sd card, the phone shut down.
It seems like it has no sufficient power to finish the operation. In fact I tried to plug the phone to charge the battery and that don't work...at least the led is not on (but I'm pretty sure it's not charging).
After that the only things I can do is to power on again and see the boot loop.
Any idea on how to solve?
Thanks.

Shutdown or reboots? The op said that was a G510 and this is the P6 forum
Probably you have the recovery corrupted, you need to reflash stock recovery again via fastboot
THIS IS FOR THE Ascend P6, NOT for the G510

It happens the same to me, but I don't know how to do.
I'm a newbie and I'm not familiar with this command...could you kindly explain what I have to do step by step?
I posted you fastboot noob-friendly tutorials
1st you need fastboot installed and P6 and fastboot drivers
Asumming you already have downloader the image and you are in windows, open a cmd promp and navigate (using cd command) to your fastboot directory, place recovery_original_flashable.img in this folder. If your phone is shutdown, hold vol- and plug the usb cable (if it's continuous rebooting, hold vol- and power button until phone reboots and kernel logo come up)
Type on the cmd promt: fastboot devices , if you see under devices attached, ??????????? or numbers and letters, your phone is connected into fastboot mode
If you don't have this, check if the drivers was correctly installed.
With the phone connected in fastboot mode, type in the cmd promt: fastboot flash recovery recovery_original_flashable.img
After this command finish, type fastboot reboot and enter into the default recovery and try to update the system
I not guarantee the exit of this operation, this solved my problem, but maybe yours not. If you aren't sure, ask here or send phone to your repair center

I am using Huawei G 510-0200 in Pakistan. I had rooted my cell phone and was converting a user app into system app via Titanium backup. The process was taking long time so force closed Titanium Backup app. This caused phone crash and it restarted and hung up at huawei logo.
Now i tried factory data reset and clearing cache in Power and Volume + key mode. It did not work. I tried applying update (two different roms, one custom pakistani rom and other was normal g510-0200 rom) in the same mode but it shows installation aborted.
I tried Forced Firmware Update mode too. I placed update.app file in the sd card and restarted cell phone by holding Volume+, Volume- and Power key. In that mode, it shows unpacking Step 1/2 for a while and then instead of installing, it shows Update Failed.
Error log shows this:
filename = /mmc1/dload/update.app call RCV_MODULE_END_EVENT failed,module = OEMSBL_VER_LIST CMD=0xf,moduleaddr = 0xd2000000, len_tmp=0x4000
I have tried everywhere and I'll be really greatful if you can sort this out for me. :crying:

Cant enter recovery or download mode

Hello.
I flashed one KDZ for my country and root my E987. I also used freegee to install CWM (it should unlock boatloader I guess).
The problem in that when: phone turning on, trying to enter recovery, fastboot or download mode I have nothing but a black screen.
The phone is working perfectly.
In freegee I see these options: Backuo and restore EFS, Re LOCK and CWM/TWPR installations
What can be wrong??
In Optimus G (E975), should turn of phone completely (press power button for 10 seconds), then press vol up + power to start phone in bootloader. Then press vol down twice and then power button to start recovery.
I tried again but nothing but a black screen

So, if you can even access to your bootloader with vol up + power , you can connect phone to PC and flash a recovery image file via fastboot adb. (put your recovery image file in fastboot folder and then open a command prompt in that folder and type:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recoveryfilename.img
Also maybe on your black screen you can do this.
If not, disconnect phone from PC, turn it off, press vol up + vol down together and connect USB cable, you may see download mode. if you see download mode, following method may help, but I'm not sure about E987! I did this on my phone E975 and it works: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2249500
Please consider it may remove all your data including system, userdata, sdcard , etc.
Good luck friend

E987 is the international E975 but sold in Argentina. Its the same celphone.
I understood what U said and I going to find how/where to find a recovery image
I tried to enter recovery and download mode and always black screen, but phone is properly detected on PC.
I flashed several KDZ´s and same thing.
Thanks for your help

If you could flash kdz means you can access download mode so you can try that method I've said.
Also you can download recovery images from following links :

Please remember that after tinybin you may see black screen and can't boot android. But fastboot and recovery should work and you can push a flashable zip ROM and flash it through recovery.

Probably you soft bricked your phone. I got into a similar situation when I applied OTA after root. Dont worry, its very easy to recover your phone. It should be able to boot in Fasboot mode. If it does, follow follow this guide:
.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-unbrick-asus-zenfone-2-works-on-ota-fail-too-82039/ (Add www at the start)
Download the latest pre-rooted system .img from here:
mega.co.nz/#F!k4MHiAgL!dVuOKeH3eokcwPSNI79ffw
Download the stuff needed and then just follow the guide. Hopefully you recover your device. Best of luck!
EDIT: Forgot to add but did you install the adb drivers? Probably thats the reason Fastboot and adb dont detect it. Or did you go into the fastboot mode in the phone? If not, do that first. To do it, follow these steps:
1. Power your device down.
2. Press and hold the power and volume up button.
3. Release the power button when it vibrates.
4. Release the volume up button once the ASUS splashscreen appears.
5. Now the device should be in Fasboot mode.
6. Then connect your phone to your PC (dont forget to install the drivers!) using the USB Cable and go to the folder where the flashtools are.
7. Hold Shift and right click > then click open command window here
8. Type "fastboot devices". Enter the command two times. (Cause the first time it will start daemon or something like that)
If your device shows up, congrats! You are in fastboot mode and it is working.

Hey,
Could you please help me (or anyone for that matter).....I've soft bricked my phone and I'm a little weary about following any other steps incase I fully brick the phone.
I have a Zenfone 2 that was CN Z00A 2.20.40.63 , I tried to root because random chinese apps kept downloading on my phone and obv it soft bricked (kept looping at boot).....since then I have tried a lot of stuff without luck and my brain is fried from all the information.... I went to the recovery mode but ADP couldn't find my phone and then I loaded a recovery image on my SD calling it MOFD_SD.ZIP but that didn't work due to signature verification error. Now after reading what you wrote I can see that fastboot is recognizing my device....I would go through with the process but I'm afraid if I screw this one up it could be the end of fastboot working and therefore me being royally screwed.
Since my phone was naturally CN Z00A 2.20.40.63 I'm wondering if the pre-rooted images on the site you mentioned above will work? There is no download for CN Z00A 2.20.40.63 and I want to know whether it's safe to use CN Z00A 2.20.40.61 (or a WW image) or whether I have to try another option (if you have any suggestions).
If anyone could reply with help it would be greatly greatly appreciated.

Well, I'm not sure if it'll work but check this out (Scroll down to No. 4 - Changing from CN to WW version):
forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/asus-zenfone-2-flashing-recovery-mode-t3096596
I'm no expert, but to be honest the state your device is in, I don't see any other options. Because when my device (it had WW firmware) got soft-bricked, I followed the guide by androidsoul and it did recover my phone. Not sure about yours since its a CN one.
If you like living on the edge and are really desperate, go ahead try this out, if not, better wait for someone with more knowledge then me.
EDIT: I forgot but since ADB isn't working, you can't use this method. So the only option I see that you have is flashing a pre-rooted rom.

Stuck in recovery after ADB with broken power button

Its very complicated. My T705's power button was damaged by water. And i flashed Stock MM rom with odin. It was fine after flashing, the tablet boot into the os properly, work very well in the os.
But then i want to wipe the cache and data after that, so i was using the code"adb reboot to recovery" to get into recovery mode because my power button was broken. (I thought it can be using home button to select in recovery mode)
But the nightmare is i can't select anything in recovery mode which requiring a power button. So i can't wipe the cache, also can't select the option to reboot my tablet...... I've tried to hold both the volume down and home key to go to the download mode menu, and select restart by holding volume down, but it go to recovery again even after removing the battery, i think it's because the adb command.
And the strangest thing is i can't use my volume up button in download mode menu, so sadly i can't flash the rom again,:crying: but the volume up is working well in recovery and in the os......
Is there anyway to prevent the tablet to boot into the recovery again? I'm quite sure it's not the problem when flashing MM rom, the problem should be the adb command makes my tablet boot into recovery until i change the boot setting in recovery mode.

Install twrp, you won't need a power button then.

If your power button doesn't work how do you turn the device on after removing the battery?

That would only work if you could actually use adb.

Holding vol down + home key can boot to the download mode menu.
But the device will automatically turn on after inserting the battery, no need to press any button, but the device only boot into recovery after i use the adb boot into recovery command.

If that's the case that means the power button is stuck on or you wouldn't be able to power on or boot to Download mode.
All you need to do is flash the stock firmware or twrp and it will reboot back to the OS.
Hopefully I've got your fix:
When you insert the battery your device boots up, if so, insert the battery and press the correct key combo while the splash screen from logo.bin is showing to boot into the download mode.
After that flash TWRP latest version with Odin. Then when your phone again boots to recovery, chose Reboot -> System to boot Android.
---
If the above isn't applicable and you can start Android somehow, I will download either FlashFire or MobileOdin to flash another recovery/ROM.

And don't know why the volume up doesn't work in the download mode menu, stuck in the download mode menu and can't select the option "continue" to go into the download mode

Try power+vol- to get to recovery.... Other than that keep trying different button combinations... What happens when you hold both vol buttons and power button for more than ten seconds? To completely shut phone off hold vol up and power button. Otherwise I have heard some say let the phone battery run down battery until phone shuts off. Then try the buttons again. Only just both vol buttons no power and phone not plugged in. Start the MSM tool it will say waiting on device, then with phone off, hold both vol buttons down wait 10 seconds then connect phone to PC.
So when i press power + "-" nothing happend, no vibration, no screen nothing
when i press +/- and power the phone starts and there stands fastboot but a few seconds läter come the red flash and the phone shuts down(but it is onto an powercord)
when i only press +/- also nothing happend and the phone is not responded in msm

Extract the zip, should see a payload.bin and change it to payload.img. then fastboot flash payload.img that will flash it to the phone... Then fastboot boot, that should reboot into setup screen on phone. If it doesn't, the last step would be to change the active slot and reboot again in fastboot mode...
Finally, from fastboot mode, fastboot twrp img and in twrp tap on reboot and boot to EDL mode with MSM tool "started" and that will start the process... If the above procedure fails! This is the way I recover from a crashed phone!
