Hi.
I have hunted all over the forums but so many of the links are completely dead I am struggling.
The device has no OS at all on it, it reboots straight in to the Bootloader.
I have tried in OS X and Windows 10 using Terminal / CMD to try and get this working but to no avail, I can get the SD card to mount as a USB device however.
Got Gparted working in Parallels, tried to follow a tutorial for formatting it correctly (got an 8gb card) but doesn't look right.
I'd like this to take the newest OS possible, I saw in another thread it could take Android 5 potentially.
I have attached two images.
Thanks,
Dan.

but somehow it switched back to old one
I tried everything but can't switch back to new one which is much better for me. Any idea?
2nd q, how to prevent making Android folder on my micro sd card? I don't want anything else on card except what I put there. Thanks
Edit: Solved keyboard problem. After I unchecked chinese keyboard, samsung went to default which is the old one. I selected chinese but I didn't make it default in options.
I will try to google more about Android folder on sd card but if someones know, would appreciate help.
I just installed Beanstalk Release 6 on my HTC Desire and partitioned the SD-card with the mentioned partition guide. Everything works as it should except that I am not able to install apps on the SD-card.
For some reason the SD-card is not recognized by some parts of the system. In a file manager and under Device -> Storage the card is there just fine..

...but under Device -> Partition info and under Manage apps the card is either reported as not available or simply not there:
This somehow means that I am able to put content on the SD-card but I am not able to install apps on it. I have tried re-partitioning with both the size and file system the guide proposes and with other sizes and systems but with no luck. Anyone know how to fix this so I can install apps on the SD-card?
Thank you
Solved by installing release 7. This thread can be closed.
Well, I should start with that this is my gf's phone and I've installed LinageOS quite a while ago. She's saying that she was installing a weekly update when the phone crashed and after that it started to stay on the boot window for hours. When I tried to manually update the phone via TWRP it showed this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Tried some Youtube guides, as changing from EXT 4 to EXT 2 and back again, repairing the file system, but it just says the same thing all the time. Any ideas how to fix that? Thanks in advance!
I'm not very experienced in that (only installed a few ROMs to a few different phones), so it would be great to get some step-by-step guide, so I don't mess something up <3
Flash back to stock and start over. If the ruu can't fix it then nothing will.
I tried the appropriate option in recovery, but I get the message "impossibile to mount SD card".
Any hint please?

this is the only way that is possible without a PC. If you followed these steps and it doesn't work, you're out of luck. Get a PC. A laptop from a friend or family will already suffice.
Hi guys,
I'm in a bit of a pickle and i have surfed the whole wide web and haven't found an answer to my questions/problem.
My dad installed Ubuntu on this phone to try it out and eventually i took it over since i needed the phone.
I made a stupid mistake by wiping the system and everything on it via the ubuntu screen and now i'm stuck with a bricked? phone.
I have no idea how to revive this phone and i'm in a great need for help.
The bootloader is unlocked and this is what i see (check images)
Anyone who knows what i'm supposed to do to get this phone to work again?
Thank you very much.

If all else fails MSM will usually rescue the phone.
Make sure to follow the guide exactly and that the PC has the drivers installed (they're linked in the guide).
I'll try the MSM tool tomorrow, ill keep you updated!
Thank you for the reaction.
