Recently, notifications that "pop" up on the screen after performing a task or doing something, are very 'sticky' - they seem to stay on the screen much longer than they should - often more than a minute or two - even after finishing whatever task or thing that is related to the "pop up message".
This has never happened to me before and I can't figure out if there is a setting that needs to be changed to make those "messages" go away more quickly. see example on image I attached - this message saying that the new person I added to People Edge had already been added- woud not go away for over two minutes - no matter what I did - and this happens everytime I get a pop up notification of some kind....doesnt matter what the notification is about - or what ap it is associated with - it simply sticks to the screen and won't go away for much longer than it should and then it goes away on it's own.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction ? This has never happened to me before.....
I don't want to be that guy who is the only one who answers his own questions while waiting for someone who has had similar experiences comes along and offers some suggestions?
Am I really the only one this is happening to ? Do anything onthe phone that causes a small pop up notification of some kind and it won't go away for much longer than it should - sometimes several minutes -
Anyone have this happen ? Anything that can be done to make it stop?

Just received my phone today. I toyed around with the phone and I noticed everytime I select something : task manager, program, volume. When the phone returns to the home screen the clock shows a time of 6:24 then it flips to the correct time. I had the Original Tilt and have never used Touchflo 3D. Is this the norm? It was cute the first time now it's aggrevating.
PS- I'm running stock rom.
Yep it's my location time running behind your normal clock.
I noticed the same thing too. The clock appears to start an hour behind and then flips to the correct time.
Its slightly annoying. =/
Happens on the stock AT&T rom. Don't know if it happens on other ROMs.

Ok you lost me. Can you explain?
Actually, mine starts 1:02:00 behind, then it switches to my current time. So I see the hour flip once and the minute flip twice. If you want to recreate this, just tap the notifications up top, close them, and then you'll see the time change. It's as if ATT wanted the clock to flip once when changing focus to it...
im using the tilt with a cooked rom and i have the same "issue. mildly annoying; would be nice to get rid of it
Unfortunately, it's working as designed. I believe it's supposed to be a "coolness" feature of the clock flipping everytime you go to the page.
I'm not sure I agree - you can see the behavior with the digital clock on device lock as well. There, it's not so cool. It really looks like it's doing something wrong.
Anyone know where to set 'my location' if you've gotten rid of TF3D?
me too
I noticed that the first day I got it on the Wednesday. I agree it is annoying and would like to prevent it if possible. I will keep looking to see if anyone comes up with a fix.
The other thing that I have noticed is that the SMS and or Email will just pop up for no apparent reason. I have it set to check my Email accounts every 15 minutes but I dont think it is on that time frame. It seems fairly random. Let me know if anyone else has noticed this that way I can see if it is something I have installed causing the problem.
Thanks, Kevin

It's the Time Zone Auto Fix package that is causing it...Just the way HTC is keeping your time accurate. Try disabling auto time check.
BG4 all also fixes it
Background For All includes a couple of flip clocks (clear and white) and also "fixes" this behavior. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=572166

Assuming you meant the settings under 'Phone', this had no effect for me. Still flips. Going to try the Background 4 All & Flip Clock next. Thanks
The time between what's first shown and what it is flipped to / skipped to is about 75 minutes apart (I caught it enough times to see it happen). It's a very odd time to be off / different...
I've got this issue too, and I'm running the stock att rom for now. I agree, very irritating. I thought something was wrong with my phone until I found this thread.
It appears that the time is when I last looked at my phone, as if it's cached (either the time or what seems more likely - the screen) and then is updated and refreshed. I wonder if there's a way to disable this caching, if that's what it actually is...
Probably handled in the LUA scripts as they describe how the page is rendered & what action do what. My suggestion is try to find the Home Page from one of the other TP versions. They don't have the flip clock.
EDIT: The newer Sense 2.1 TF3D does this as well as animated the whole BG with the Weather on the Home page anytime TF3D looses focus & gains focus back. This means when you go to a screen that is not TF3D. An example is just opening & closing the start menu on a 6.5 ROM.
A fix for the clock issue
Here is the manila file to fix the clock issue...To istall you must disable manila and then total commander this file into the windows directory of your phone

You're on to something there. Fixed the flip but screwed up the clock. Digits are all screwed up.
Any ideas?
Thanks for working on this.
(copied from the tilt2 tips/problems thread)
I'm about to make myself look very stupid with this...
I've been using DeFroST for ages now and just come across a problem that's driving me mad. I've suddenly got a selection of incredibly annoying sounds that I just can't seem to turn off.
When I unlock or drop down the notification drawer there's a shrill 'ding'. Selecting the app drawer or select a check box there's a "thock" noise. (don't laugh at my descriptions!)
I've had the phone on silent yet these noises still occur. Volume doesn't seem to affect it either. I've performed a full wipe and re-installed the ROM yet they're still there. I also can't find any option in the menu to turn to damn things off.
Can anyone let me know if they're also having the same noise, and more importantly, how can I get rid of them, they're driving me mad!!
Should've posted in the ROM thread - would get more replies
I'll be honest, I've done it in both.
Hey there.. I just installed the Energy ROM after having received this phone as a gift from a friend (with an unknown other ROM installed). I haven't had any problems with it for several weeks until just earlier today when the Quick List has decided to randomly start appearing on my screen. I don't even know how to trigger that screen to appear myself, but I can leave my phone unlocked on my desk and it'll randomly show the Quick List for a little while, then it'll vanish, sometimes extremely quickly. But I can't do anything on the phone anymore since it's constantly appearing and interrupting whatever I'm trying to do.
Like I said, I attempted to install an Energy ROM (Energy.RHODIUM.21916.Sense2.5.Cookie.2.0.Mar.08.7z, according to the file I downloaded from the Energy website) and it just finished no more than 30 minutes ago. As soon as I turned the phone back on from a reboot, that dang Quick List screen appeared.
Does anyone know why it keeps popping up and how I can get it to quit? Or is there some way I can just disable the Quick List altogether (as the options on it aren't really useful anyway..)? Thanks for any help ya'll can provide!
Started having this problem a few weeks ago. Did some hardresets, some task29 and tried different roms. But this quick list keeps appearing outof nowhere. Starts to get frustrating.
It's happening again...
So, for no reason that I could tell, it magically started working again (same rom as listed above) and I never saw the Quick List window again until today.
Today, I was using that same ROM as before, but the Quick List window started appearing. I thought that perhaps it was just something to do with that build, so I upgraded to the English build available at (well, tried giving the link but apparently I haven't posted enough, so never mind). It's at "http : // Energy Roms dot com forward slash www forward slash flavors forward slash sencity.html" for the HTC Touch Pro 2 Cookie (April 8, 2011 version). The ROM installs without a problem (absent the annoying attempts to get the phone to not constantly display the Quick List) but as soon as I power the phone on, the Quick List starts blinking on again.
I searched around as before for a solution and thought I could just disable the setting so that when I hold the end call button, it displays the Quick List, but after 10+ attempts to get to the settings window without the Quick List appearing and interrupting me (then closing itself automatically and displaying the Home screen), I finally got the setting saved and it didn't change anything.
Is it possible to just turn the Quick List feature off? Is there some known reason why it has possessed my phone? Thanks for any help ya'll can give.
Is there still no solution for self appearing Quick List? because I have the same problem :/
EDIT:
I've solved it The front keys flex need to be reconnected to main flex because "endkey" was self pushed what in energy rom is configured to turn on Quick List.
EDIT: ignore; posted to wrong subforum.
Is there a way to disable the Google Now notifications for "travel to" and "weather" that popup on your phone all day long? I never need or want to know how long it is to travel to my home or office. I don't want a weather update either. How can I disable that crap? I tried going to the Android Wear app, then Settings | Block Apps, but there is nothing listed there that corresponds to these annoying notifications.

In Now on the phone you can go to menu/Customize/Everything else and turn off the weather updates. I'm not sure about the travel ones.

Thats not working for me, both weather and travel cards keep appearing
I think when the notification pops up on your phone you can go to google now and there is an option to "never remind me about this" or something like that. I've done it before I don't remember the exact process, good luck

Yes, that applies to almost any app, but not for Google Now for some reason. You can't block them from the phone
This has now started to annoy me a bit too. The amount of times I glance down and think I've got a notification, only to find that it's telling me the weather outside the window I'm sitting next to.
The "travel to" is sometimes interesting, since it seems to pick up routines, but my life is pretty boring, so I've never had cause to use it. That, plus it updates slowly, so it'll tell me I'm 10 minutes from home when I'm inside.
I don't mind them being there if I scrolled down to view - similar to how Google Now works on a handset, but to have them constantly reappearing kind of dilutes the concept of notifications.

I'm not sure I entirely buy their concept of notifications-only on the watch in the first place. Some of these cards represent information that I may want to know on demand. Delivering them only in the manner of a notification means that I can't find the information out right "now" when I want to. And, it means that they unnecessarily alert me to information that I don't want to know at that particular time.
And, if I want to leave them visible (i.e. not swipe to dismiss them), then they continually clutter the bottom of the screen as if they are important information that I'm not aware of - even if I've already visited them and read what they had to say.
There needs to be a concept of "information available" which are screens that can be set to "always available" and they do not act like notifications - they never vibrate and they don't show up on the screen, but you can swipe down to them when you wish.
Even notifications need an "acknowledged, but not dismissed" state so that even if it was a text message or phone call that you missed, you can leave it on the watch but once you've read it you can have it not peek out at you when all you want to do is read the time.
The data provided on the watch needs a lot more flavors and distinctions than "everything is an equally important and annoying notification that you must deal with or dismiss or it won't go away".
^ I agree, hopefully future upgrades of Android Wear will be more sophisticated.
Sometimes, not always, when I restart my phone, things get a little crazy and somehow they must be all related. It happens as often as approx once a week. What happens is the following things:
1- I get an email from Where's My Droid that my SIM card or phone number has changed
2- Network-provided time zone changes to Central European Summertime
3- Wifi calling is turned off (however this doesn't normally stay on for some reason)
4- Visual voicemail in the phone app is missing despite still being turned on
5 - APN is not selected (the circle next to Verizon is empty aka does not have the blue dot in it)
I am on 7.1.2 and rooted. Does this happen to anyone else and is there any fix? What could be the cause?
Edit: I doubt this is related, but since I am looking for general feedback for strange bugs with my phone...
Another thing that happens is sometimes while using my phone, apps randomly reload (lack of a better word)
By reload, what happens is the app does not fully close and reopen. What happens is the app remains open ("heading" bar at the top remains) but the rest of the page I am on goes completely blank and then returns with any previous changes undone.
So say I was writing an email in gmail, the red bar at the top with the back arrow and trash can, etc. stays while the rest goes blank and any text I wrote will be gone and I have to start from the beginning. Usually when this is happening, it continues to happen repetitively for a little while. Eventually it just stops on its own. It does not seem to be related to any specific app (since it happens with a bunch of apps) unless maybe it is related to something like Swype keyboard that is always on.
Does that happen to anyone else too? What is causing this??
If your phone is 128g your nand is bad and you need a replacement. Google is aware of the issue and should swap no problem.
