Hello, this question is simple (or I think so).
I want to download a ROM from "https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/nash/official/RETLA/" and there I found two options, "XT1789-05_NASH_RETLA_SS" and "XT1789-05_NASH_RETLA_DS", but nowhere in the web I found the explanation about the difference between SS or DS.
Can someone help me ?
Single Sim
Dual SIM
As I remember right, the last time I checked, they were binary equals, which doesn't make sense.. (probably they differ for majority of models and versions)
Great ! Thanks u so much

Hello, guys!
The forum is super but here is ocmplete disorder. Where are the ROMS?
How can one find a ROM file here?? The forum is huge and the search leads to discontinued results (2008 year)
Can someone point me to ROM file archive here?
BR
I'd demand a full refund of the money you've paid....
Seriously, if you scroll down through this list a few pages, some kind person has compiled a thread with all the links in one place. Search is terrible and you have to spend lots of your own time. Still, it's free.
Man its full of ROMs. Most active topics or most discussed ROMs are showed on first page. U dont need to search, just click on thread one the rom u like. Its noted by Cook, Built, WM version, sense version, and ROM Version.
Its easy as it can be.
But it's a mess here!
No normal instructions. All are outdated.
Well, as it was said - it's free and therefore it's messy.
ROMs here - one file, no Ruupdate.exe , no nothing. Like if any user comming here is a professional HTC developer. I am simple user and i am sick of spending hours of my time by gathring info by tips. Well, like i said -- good forum, but no order.
What are you complainin?
Please just have a look at recent posts as already said.
The threads where you have a lot of activity are the threads with new roms.
There are also plenty of tutorials!
For example this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211
For sure you will need some time to compare different roms and find your best fitting one....which comes with the big choise of roms.
And also there will be little problems from time to time which I'm sure you can solve in a short amount of time.
I can recommend the google search, not built in forum search.
Concerning flashing you don't need to use Ruupdate.exe, it's way easier to name your .nbh file DIAMIMG.nbh, move it to the phone's internal storage and flash directly (see tutorial)
Kind regards and have fun with your new roms

My complain is that forum is full of unimportant trash in topics and no really helpfull info. Like now, i have found a ROM, flashed it and i lost TouchFlo ) Super!
And no original ROMS, only some outdated.
Well, i am a bit tired reading this forum today within 8 hours to find more or less fresh tut, so i can not tell you exactly what is wrong, but i am telling you - i am professional software developer, not a lamer and not a pumpkin head BUT i lost in this forum, jumping from link to link.
I would delete ALL and put all in order:
Flash (ROM) files here:
Radio files here:
Boot loaders (Hard SPL or whatever it's called) here:
Flashers (Software) here:
Tutorials here:
Discussion here:
Instead i see 13248 topics with xxxxx messages inside and 1% of useful info.
Well, if you take donations then make it user friendly.
I will donate 100 USD to make it in order.
And PS - this is a problem that there are Plenty or tutorials!
Like we say in my language - brevity wit! Try to write the less and put sense the more.
Like when i read - hard SPL... then 100 lines text, cheers to authors and then - a patched bootloader..
LOL
Hello XDA,
I've been following you for years. I started following you with my first Android phone, an HTC Hero. I've been very happy to be able to use a community ROM that made a far better experience than the stock ROM.
I recently got a brand new HTC One V PrimoU, and I'd like to make it my new polyvalent tool.
I'm not a noob in computers, kernel/linux related stuff, electronics, networking. I already tried some ROMs. In fact, I started with KangBang 3.0 (the same version as now I think), but both WiFi and BlueTooth were not working. Android could not even detected the WiFi MAC address, so I guess it was a driver or wireless chip firmware related problem. I think I was the only one affected, so it was maybe a bad flash or I used the wrong kernel. I did'nt investigate more at the time, but if it happens again to me, I'll send some system/kernel logs.
I then tried AOKP, had a great (really) experience with it, except that the Jack plug sound quality was awful. No bass, only mid/high tones. I even thought my speakers were dead at first, but then tried with headphones. Now, I want to try KangBang again, because that ROM was good, and fast, just missing WiFi.
TL;DR
I'd like to ask some precise questions about KangBang and the HTC One V.
I initially wanted to ask in the ROM dev thread, but can't since I'm a new user, so I ask here. Sorry if the questions are stupid/simple/answered, but let's make a clear base, with precise interrogations and answers, so that they will never be asked again
The kernel is included in the .zip file. Still, do we need to flash manually ? Or will the Aroma installer handle that ?
What about ROM Manager ? Is it recommended to use or is it a good way to brick a phone as I heard ?
Does this ROM change the base Android system and file structure ? Would it be compatible with a side-by-side installation of a Linux system such as Debian ? (To see what I mean by side by side installation of Linux, search Debian Kit for Android on Google, as I can't post links)
Also, I'd like to tell ROM makers these advices (don't take them bad, I you think I'm wrong about them there's no problem, just tell me why) :
It would not be a bad idea to give a simple statistic about the ROM : the load average with the ROM installed on an idle and clean phone. That would give a good indication of idle power consumption and ressource wasting.
I see that users reporting problems with their devices NEVER include any kind of debug information. Maybe you should ask for them, just because by searching for this debug information they might solve the problem themselves. Most Android systems and kernels report a LOT of information, that we can access with simple commands such as dmesg.
Last but not least, I would like to thank you, ROM developers and XDA users for allowing me to play this way with my phone, and to make it work exactly the way I want.
Hugo G.,
ummm this device has kangbang?? (btw questions go into q&a )
so i'll move onto the TL;DR which i was grateful for
1) The rom thread should say what kernel but yes, we don't have s-off so flashed manually
2) Ignore rom manager don't touch it
3) think of it as the differences say with debian vs ubuntu vs mint all basically debian but all with they're own differences (pros and cons)
also about the "suggestions" to the devs, that will NEVER go down well, why should YOU suggest to use what to put in the threads also i know in my threads i ASK for logcats time and time again...
hope this helps
if you need more info i'll be welcome to add more, but 1st i need sleep BADLY
Hi, thanks for taking a look!
First of, this is not the first time I'm getting in touch with rooting, but am a bit confused since I only usd purely 'international' devices until now. I have researched the forums and found the existing threads, but they didn't seem to answer my questions.
I recently bought a m8w (m8 for China Unicom, I'll be living in China for the life of this phone, so it kind of makes sense...) and have a few questions about this:
The differences I can see until now are the following:
CPU @ 2.5 GHz, Differences in radio frequencies
Rooting:
Does the difference in radios and cpu affect the way I would have to root? I'm assuming that the common how-tos for rooting should still work, since there doesn't seem to be any changes in terms of hardware? Am I correct in that assumption?
[*]gApps:
First thing after rooting would be the installation of gApps and XPOSED. Anything specific in this regard I should keep an I on (again, considering the slightly different HW).
[*]Custom ROMs:
I've been dabling with different ROMs on my last phone. How would I go about ensuring the compatibility? Is it possible to extract the radio files of my current firmware and e.g. use mobileOdin to flash this together with a custom ROM? Or any other way of 'making sure' a ROM is flashable?
While researching I stumbled over the claim that all Versions are the same, except for Verizon and Sprint. I honestly can't find that thread anymore - but is there a way to check on this directly on the device? Or is it possible, that this claim was based on the assumption that the phone used is for the North American markets?
Thanks again for viewing. I appreciate you taking your time to read through all this!
Hi all, I'm new here (but not on xda) be gentle!
I'm searching for good update, so I decide to go for 4.4.4 from 4.4.2. , because 5.0 has a lot of problems, at least what I see no progress (correct me if I'm wrong) but never mind that...
I have question regarding update Europe, International G3 D855 16gb/2gb RAM model.
So I search and find couple od firmware, but I'm confused what to look.
on this site http://devtester.ro/restricted/imei.php I found couple different firmware for my phone, I gues this is 5.x firmwares but I am confused. Can someone explain me:
-MODEL D855 (ok, I understand this)
-VERSION D85520H_00 (I guess this is a version of the android ) I know from the website that the latest version... is it? (lg-firmware.jpg)
-BUYER 6KS ?
-BUYER NAME TELEKOM_16G (I get that this is the provider, but the difference between this and without labels)
-COUNTRY CS/Serbia (I guess it's the localization, language and so on)
-REGION Europe (self-explanatory)
-LIVE DATE 2015-02-09 (day release)
and this:
SUFFIX A6PSTN vs A6KSTN (this is the biggest mystery that I can not figure out)
please help!
not sure what all of those are.
i do know that for a firmware name, if it has a '10' in it ie. v10h, it is KK, if it has '20' in it ie v20i it is LP.
do make sure though, when you download firmware that it is for your model, in this case a 16gb/2gb ram.
if you want to go to 4.4.4, you'll need to find a custom ROM that was released with it, as LG never released a 4.4.4 update.
i think your worries about LP aren't unwarrented, but it is great. it runs flawlessly for me. no outstanding issues, better battery.
you also need to decide if you would like rooting and twrp capabilities. to install a rom that has 4.4.4, you will need root & twrp.
if that scares you - you can get to LP via LG official stock without either of those. will be 5.0 though.
rooting and twrp is easier than ever - one click root and twrp install via apk.
sus it out and decide what you want to do.
i'd suggest you'd create a nandroid (need twrp) and move it to your ext. sd card, that way if you flash anything you don't like, you can easily revert back to what you had.
tnx for advice!
I did beckup, but I'll wait a little more I see that some things are losing transition to lollipop. I had contact with a buddy phone that has lollipop, He didn't left too strong an impression on me.
I am not afraid, for a long time do these things with the famous Motorola Defy+ , I have experience and guts
I'm waiting to see if someone will know to answer my question

I do not know about this website, for my country only have one firmware, and on the other there are more than... Look my first post
Yesterday I bricked my brand new P8000(B) - the new version with Marshmallow 'out of the box' (and the new SIM slots etc...)
I tryed to reflash several stock- and custom ROM's but they don't work because they are made for the 'old' version and there must be major differences in the hardware. At the moment the main problem is that the LCD driver is wrong and the display shows only lines and blurry spots
The Phone was running on ROM "P8000_6.0_20160516" - this ROM is not available at needrom or bbs.elephone.hk even Google doesnt know
It would help a lot if some could supply the ROM "P8000_6.0_20160516" - thank you!

I can do nothing else than blaming you, I wrote a reply yesterday to the eragon forum that there's someone else who flashed -not even a custom rom- just the root .zip that was for the "old" p8000 and got his phone bricked the same way as you (LCD driver problem). That's why I asked for a dump/backup. It could have been useful for you too (as in this case) and for the other guy too. But nevermind, I hope that you learn from this for later things... anyways, the other guy has contacted elephone on their facebook, so I hope you'll get the rom so you can use your device again. Good luck!
I have this version too, just got it today.
If someone can explain to me how to create the scatter file and the backup, I'll do it.
I have some experience with this stuff, but MTKDroidTools tells me unknown rom structure.
Any help?
I do have the same problem (see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-p8000/general/rom-p8000-t3431571 ). I just wanted to root the phone because I liked to change the wifi modem file but i didn't even realize that I got another version of the phone at this point, so I bricked it.
I also contacted the support via facebook, but the support guy had to ask the engineers for help.
But maybe someone can help Emileh taking a dump of his phone, that would be really great!
@ardrift
you are sooo right but I have'n expected that two phones of the same type contain conplete different hardware respectively the firmware is not supporting both hardware versions. Even the manufacturer does not metion to check the hardware version before flashing...
@Emileh @flo1k
I do have a second 'untouched' P8000(B) too - and I'm starving to copy the firmware from this working phone to the faulty phone if someone could explain how...
problem solved
flo1k managed to get a stock ROM for this hardware version - the softwarepackage is named K06TE-A.A.vR14.E1.160707 and should be available at the elephone forum soon....
Further information you can get here http://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-p8000/general/2016-version-fingerprint-scanner-t3436270
