hello! i have g3 d850 at&t and its unlocked but i have problems while i try to connect phone with 3g or 4g lte data, signal bar ddisappears when i force connect with wcdma or lte. gsm work well. apn is ok. o g2 i have 3g 4g lte ok, with same apn and same parameters but on g3 i can connect only with 2g or E. please help me!
Same happen to me
Kind of the same happens to me(I'm in Claro - Argentina provider) and also D855
Signal bars go when i select WCDMA only but when i go LTE/WCDMA/GSM, i do get 3G+ but after a while (dont know if its when the device goes to sleep or idk, but after 30+- minutes) the modem stop responding, i can't make calls, get them or get any data.
I havent been able to find why this happens (tried different versions modem) and roms.... any help would also be apreciated.
I get it sometimes too and for me the solution is changing the APN. Sometimes carriers have different apns like "vodafone live" and "vodafone internet". So be sure you choose the right apn settings.

I tried it, didn't work either! After some time, the modem stop responding... dont get internet or the ability to get or make phone calls.
Hii guys,
I recently bought a jio sim for my Redmi 1s. As we know the sim is for only 4g devices but there are certain hacks. I tried one of them.
It suggests that going in engineering mode ( after dialing *#*#4636#*#*) then changing network type to LTE/GSM auto and then search for network.
But when I change network type, after exiting the engg mode it automatically changes to WCDMA preferred network.
Can anyone help me!!! Plzzz!!!
Btw I'm new in this forum.

That's all fake over Internet. It'll not support any 3g phone with any of the methods given over internet.
Because it is a 4g sim and also jio has 4g tower. If it have 3g tower then only it support in 3g device.
Thank you sir for your guidance.
Update: This module won't make VoWiFi or VoLTE work. It will enable the menu options but they won't work.
I'm leaving the module up for anyone interested in playing with it, but be aware that it probably won't be useful to you.
Hey guys,
I'm on Three in the UK who support VoLTE, but not on the OnePlus 5 (yet).
So I made a module to enable it.
Important: This isn't going to just magically make VoLTE work, but it will show you the VoLTE options. If your carrier enables VoLTE for you, then you shouldn't need this module.
I'm hoping someone else who has a VoLTE compatible device can share whatever settings are missing. I suspect it's something like the (ims) server to connect to for VoLTE, but I'm not sure since I don't own any compatible devices.
Please feel free to give it a try and let me know.
Thanks Volte active but operator does not support oneplus 5
I have T-Mobile and voLTE was not enabled on my 5. The option was always there in my settings to enable it. I toggled voLTE in my settings and it worked. No need for the module for me.
Try setting up an ims APN for 3?
Settings should be:
APN name 3UK IMS
APN ims
APN Type ims
APN protocol IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming protocol IPv4/IPv6
MCC abs MNC same as the normal 3 APN.
I've been trying to get it working with my O2 SIM.
Works natively with EE, but silly that the device is exclusive to O2 but doesn't support their settings.
At the start of apn.conf there's a comment that the ims APN was added for O2. But it wasn't.
I added my own.
Just added vowifi toggle
Doesn't look like it's actually working though.
Fairly sure I've got it enabled through myo2
Code:
persist.radio.rat_on=combine
persist.data.iwlan.enable=true
persist.radio.data_ltd_sys_ind=1
persist.radio.data_con_rprt=1
persist.dbg.ims_volte_enable=1
persist.dbg.volte_avail_ovr=1
persist.dbg.vt_avail_ovr=1
persist.data.iwlan.enable=true
persist.dbg.wfc_avail_ovr=1
persist.radio.calls.on.ims=1

I also have the same problem. I've been told it requires OnePlus and Three to release some drivers. Someone shared some Polish T-Mobile ones so maybe I'll look at those eventually.

Yeah, if you're on a carrier that has OnePlus 5 support, then it should enable automatically. No need for the module. I was just hoping using the module could work around it not being enabled even though the phone supports it.

Thanks for sharing. These are the same settings I have on my Three IMS APN after installing the module. What's in your APN.conf then?

I made a separate module for VoWiFi, I just didn't "publish" it (it's on github public).
There are new lines in here I haven't seen before! Where did you find all the definitions.
Also, you've got persist.data.iwlan.enable=true twice.

That's what you get for playing Early morning lying in bed instead of going to work!
Btw this is the start of the APN conf.

Unlikely unless your carrier supports it
@Raharazod
Found a bug.
persist.data.iwlan.enable=true
Causes WiFi calling to stop writing on EE. (At least on oos 4.5.7
Don't understand why, but as soon as that is commented out and rebooted it works.
@fards: I updated the version to 1.1 and took out the "persist.data.iwlan.enable=true" line for you. Attachment on the main thread in the Magisk forum is updated.
Thanks for letting me know!
Honestly, I'm not sure what all the values do exactly. I can guess and some of them are obvious, but others are less so.
Try with Salt in Switzerland, and sadly doesn't work

No worries.
I'm getting intrigued enough to want to set a remote server up and rummage through the source to see what's going on. (Don't have a PC at the mo).
Odd thing with iwlan is that EE uses it, which is why forcing the mode should work..

Interesting. I'm on Three.
My "Set Preferred Network Type" is TD-SCDMA/CDMA/UMTS by default. Have you changed yours?
Also, "Data Network Type" is LTE, not iwlan. They do support WiFi calling and VoLTe, just not on the OP5.
Edit: UPDATE. After making your adjustment and removing the iwlan... re-enabling VoWiFi... I now get the icon in my status bar! The plot thickens!
Edit 2: And *#*#4636#*#* now says iwlan. I turned off the SIM but it disconnected VoWiFi when I did. I thought you could be connected without the SIM and still use it?

You need the sim active. However if you lose signal it switches.. if you make a call it should show it's using WiFi calling on the stock dialler. (Set it as preferred obviously) .
Don't think it does on Google dialler.

While I get the VoWiFi icon, when I dial out, I get a picture of SIM 1 instead of something else.

Hmm i just disabled mobile data and tried on EE.
I get this using Google dialler.
Not sure how disabling mobile data makes it preferred.
Work perfectly with french band (SFR/RED), i have tried call without data, only wifi and it work
Thanks @Raharazod

Exciting! Glad to hear it worked!
@fards: I've installed the Google Dialer to test. It doesn't say "Calling via Wi-Fi..." but it does display the Wi-Fi signal icon. I'll try it tomorrow on the tube on my way to work.

Thanks mate, i use also the Google Dialer/Contact module (Magisk)
hi guys,
I'm having issues receiving calls when my preferred network is on LTE/3G/2G but I'm able to use data and receive SMS.
steps made trying to narrow down the issue:
• switching to 2G only network type allows me to receive calls
• swtiching to LTE/3G did nothing to resolve the issue
• went to phone info using *#*#4636#*#* and changing to Global auto prl allows me to receive calls but only if the voice network type is UMTS and data network type is HSPA switches from LTE.
• had my gf call me on LTE while looking in phone info (using *#*#4636#*#*), I can see network types changing from LTE to UMTS and HSPA respectively but still unable to receive calls though on my gf's phone is ringing on her end.
hope you guys could help!
*on android 8.1 btw
I had this exact problem, I restarted the phone and it fixed the issue. I also disabled and re-enabled WiFi calling. Let me know if it worked for you.
What network are you using?
thanks for the reply guys, called raser support and turned out to be my phone's modem has an issue. sending it for RMA tomorrow..
Hi there :
I use dual sims on my 7T. from different carriers.
SIM1 only for voice call and on 3G network (in my place 3G has better signal than 4G)
SIM2 for DATA and on 4G .
when i do voice call by using SIM1, Sim2 drop to 3G and slow speed.(showing H or H+ on top bar. )
as in Australia non-carrier support VOLTE or VOWIFI on Oneplus 7T (or say all the oneplus phone base on my research),I can understand when voice call the network have to switch to 3G from 4G then go back after calls.
but in Dual Sim setup ,is it should be remain the network type and has same fast speed ?
Thanks in advance.
There's only one modem, so it can only do DSDS (dual sim, dual standby). When in a call, the other connection is dropped. This is why your data switches to sim1's 3G.
Are you intentionally trying to avoid using volte/vowifi for calls? If not, you likely need to do this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7t/how-to/volte-op7t-t4007085

Hi Thanks for your reply.
I see the reason. so DSDS can not support the way I want to use.
I tried the link you mentioned before. no luck.
In Australia, oneplus is not officially on market. So none of carrier support Volte on Oneplus.
My understanding is VoLTE and VOWIFI have to be supported by Carrier AND the Phone.
My oneplus 7T can open and use VOLTE when traveling overseas if I use local sim.
Our local forum have discuss this issue long time. No solution so far.
Some other phone like xiaomi or so can be supported in Australia. I was wonder why oneplus not.
Flash other country's rom may be ? Is there have a Volte international roaming thing ? So 7T can be pretended a Euro device roaming to Australia and using Volte ?
