I have allowed all permissions for the gallery app on the s20 ultra. However, when I try to edit videos and add background sound to my music on my sd card or internal storage, it ask to give permission. Anyone else dealing with this?
When I try to add background music with the plus button it gives me this error

Hi,
I have the HTC Desire HD and downloaded some games. Now most of the sounds from the games and apps are played in the music player.
I saw on other posts that you can hide the folders or something like that, but those answers were for other phones and I don't know how to fix this problem on the DHD.
Please help me, since I don't want all these sounds to be playing when listening to music.
(I don't have any knowledge of android so step by step instructions on how to fix the problem would be appreciated)
THx!

go to the market ans search for StudioKUMA .nomedia Manager, that will let you manage your .nomedia folders
http://www.appbrain.com/app/studiokuma-nomedia-manager/com.studiokuma.nomedia
I will try it and let you know! Thanks for the fast reply!

after you put a .nomedia file in a folder, you must reboot before it disapears from the media player
Now I have another problem. I went to download the app but when I went to play a game today on the DHD the phone froze (I think because of the bad game I just downloaded) and it was a bit laggy and then I restarted the phone and deleted the game.
After doing so, I went to the Music player and it says: "No Music Found"
but I do have a lot of music on my SD card.
The problems has nothing to do with the app I downloaded because I still didn't open the app and everything happened before I downloaded the app.
SO now I don't have any music in the player to choose which one to hide.
I already restarted the phone 5 times and removed the SD card to see if that's the problem, but still the same.
Please if you can help me, let me know! or if this has to be moved to a new Thread or topic let me know.

That is strange. I had also some pictures of a game in the gallery.
So I created a .nomedia.txt file and put it on my sd card.
Then I renamed it with ES File explorer to .nomedia and put it into the folder the pictures are. Now the gallery doesn't search in this folder but my game is still working.
Edit: Maybe you created the .nomedia File in the wrong folder.
Hi,
I didn't use the app yet. So now there is nothing in my Gallery it says" no photos or video found and it says the same in the Music player.
Please someone help me.
Should I open a new thread?
Or can you guys help me in here also?
Let me know asap!

is your sd card working fine?, i mean are the files all threre? maybe your card is corrupt
All the files are there :S
If I use the eFile Manager App, I can see all the music picture and videos on the sd card and play the music only one by one when using the eFile Manager app. But otherwise I think the gallery is not scanning my phone to see all the music, videos and pictures on the phone or it stopped scanning.
What should I do?

I'm running a couple of hand-me-down One Vs for lightweight duty (one is a music streamer, one is a 2nd phone line just for kicks) and neither have much installed, so there is plenty of room on "Internal Storage" (184MB used/747MB available). But without an SD card, it refuses to let me take a picture, save a playlist, download an APK, add a new ringtone, etc.
Is there anyway I can get it to just use the Internal Storage for that sort of thing? Can I "repartition" that internal gigabyte somehow? Maybe some creative symlinks? I really don't want to get SD cards just to add a ringtone!
The both run SlimBean (4.1) if that makes any difference.
Thanks!

That depends, with root access you can copy ringtones from an sdcard to the root storage, and then move them to the default ringtone folder in the system. They may need to be the same file type which is probably .ogg but its worth a try as far a music is concerned you could make a folder in the root storage called music and place them all on there without issue, only trouble will be finding a music player that will look for them there. The default android player probably won't so it will need to be 3rd party if you need help change the ringtones to .ogg just ask

Has anyone used the Poweramp "for Intel only" app on their ZF2?
I was pretty disappointed to discover that Android 5.0 hasn't actually fully resolved the external SD edit permissions that was promissed after the fuss around KitKat.
I transfered a load of albums onto my phone last night, storing them on the ext SD card, only to find that no album art was shown and that iTag cannot edit the tags
According to Poweramp, the app does give edit permissions to enable Mp3 tags to be edited on the ext SD card on Lollipop, but only if the sd card has a volume label.
I'm currently formatting the sd card with a volume label to see if this will work, but I was wondering if I should go for the "standard" Poweramp or the Intel version.
Any advice?
Update:
The "Intel" version of the app runs well, not sure if any better than the "standard", but Poweramp claim that it is beneficial for battery consumption and performance to use the specific app.
But the edit permission of sd card stored files is not solved. Poweramp are working on the problem. Some people have been able to get the required access permission through the app's facility, but for many, it is not working. Including me....
This issue has already been resolved by poweramp...
Go to poweramp settings.--> folder and librery -->
go to Music folder and and check the folders you want poweramp to scan...
its done!!!! enjoy...

Do it like this:
If you have all your music files in a folder called Music, rename the folder by adding a dot to the folder name with a file explorer app. (like this: .Music)
This way the albumart isn't visible in gallery (have done this myself)
Keep in mind that some music player apps aren't able to find the music in the folder when done the above.
In my case Pulsar+ couldn't find my music in the folder if I let it scan for music.
Omnia (from the same developer as Pulsar+ is working fine tho.
With Omnia I have to manually tell Omnia in which folders contain music.
While Pulsar+ just scans the phone for folders containg musicfiles and I can add exclusions afterwards.
Keep in mind also that some file explorer apps can't find the folder after you have added the dot in front of the folder name.
I am using Solid Explorer and have to enable 'show hidden folders' in the app settings after I have added the dot.

Now inside my SD card, i cannot create .XXX folder as it says "You must typre a file name" Error. BUT, inside Music folder - when i copy my music albums i renamed them to .music succesfully.
Now, the albums are neither appearing in my gallery nor on my samsung music player

I am sorry to hear that my suggestion didn't work for you.
Then i would suggest to revert the changes you have done and hide the folders containing albumart in the gallery app itself, like user brunsman6229 suggested.

You can use this as a guide, starting from the Google Drive app :
https://videotron.tmtx.ca/en/topic/samsung_galaxynote10plus/using_google_drive.html#step=10
Or, just start from the Samsung "My Files" app (or, whatever file app you're using) Any of them should have the share option (once you select which items you want to move), with Google Drive being one of the apps (places) you can send your item.
The Samsung My Files app shows the SD Card as soon as you open it, that's where I'd start.

Firstly, @KOLIOSIS method in his above post,
otherwise another way i do it,
is in my file Explorer (FX) ( I'm sure other file explorer is similar?)
I select the relevant video or photo ( SD card ), long press /three dots menu above /Share /then i select G_ Drive
See my screenshot
Good luck
Just use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ttxapps.drivesync called Autosync for Google Drive.
