[Q] Hotspot and Port Forwarding

Hi all,
I've got a Galaxy Nexus with the mobile hotspot feature (Verizon) and I'm having trouble getting VPN software on my laptop to work properly. This is because I haven't forwarded the ports from the phone/hotspot to the laptop - I can't seem to figure out how to do that.
Anyone here know of a way to forward ports using the mobile hotspot feature?
Tried using the PortForwarder app in the market, but it doesn't seem to be working... Not rooted...

Are you hosting the vpn server on your laptop? If not, then you don't need to port forward. I don't know about Verizon, but my provider blocks vpn and charges an extra 5 a month for access.

The VPN app I'm trying to use is Hamachi.
I've got it running on 3 machines - laptop, work PC, and home PC.
home <-> work is fine
anything involving the laptop while connected to the hotspot shows a "relayed tunnel", which means the other machines can't connect directly to the laptop'a service

Intermittent WiFi Dropouts?

I got a Tab S 10.5 a few weeks ago as a replacement for my Nexus 10. Overall, I feel like the Tab S is head and shoulders above the Nexus - but I've had some strange issues. I've had the wifi signal intermittently stop responding - it seems to be more prevalent on my 5GHz network using 802.11ac speeds but I've experienced it at standard 2.4GHz connections as well.
I haven't rooted the tablet yet. I thought at first it might be my wireless network as I hadn't used any other devices that were 'ac' capable even though I have a pair of Netgear R6300V2 routers bridged across my home. However, these wifi signal dropouts persist only on the Tab S - if I turn wifi off, then back on, connectivity is restored. My Galaxy S4, Chromecast, PC, DVR, all stay online just fine.
Has anyone else had this issue? I got my Tab S with the Samsung Book Cover - which I love, but it almost seems like it happens when I hold the Tab a certain way.
Thanks for anyone who can give any feedback.

Did you connect your Tab S with your S4 through SideSync at one point?
Yes, I have used Sidesync. I disabled remote notifications, but occasionally still get a pop-up that remote notifications are enabled even if I haven't used sidesync in days.

I too suffered wifi drop-out and Bluetooth issues. Following this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/heads-sidesync-bt-wi-fi-bug-t2828911) I realized that there is a problem with SideSync. Even when not connected it sitll tries to communicate with the tablet and affects the wireless components. I removed Sidesync from my Note II and clear the data from SideSync on the tablet and for the past week I have not ahd any issue with Wifi or Bluetooth.
Thanks. Side Sync Sux.
Brilliant. Thanks. I was having a big problem with 2.4ghz wifi. I though there must have been some interference. 5g was fine. Tried chaining channel and all sorts. Would have thought it was my router but I have two with same prob just on 2.4ghz. It was happening to my phone and tablet, but then noticed only when the table was connected to wifi. Just disabled Side Sync and now the wifi is blazing.

[Q] How to share GPRS internet of S5 to Tab S wen they are connected via WiFi Direct

I have Galaxy S5 with GPRS internet connection and Galaxy Tab S (non LTE version)
I know to use a Mobile Hotspot and it works perfectly.
My question is, when I connect S5 and Tab S via WiFi direct- the GPRS internet of the phone is not shared to Tab S.
If I try to make a Hotspot during WiFi direct connection- the WiFi direct gets disconnected.
You don't use wifi direct to share internet.
Just make hotspot with your S5, then connect your Tab S via wifi, NOT wifi direct.
I know, but I am looking for solution,
For example, when I am on places where there is no WiFi connection, but I established WiFi direct between Tablet S and S5 and I am working on the Tablet (also answering sms or phone calls from the tablet)- I want to use GPRS internet of the phone.
Sounds logical that this option should be...
May be there is some other way to do it?
Nope. You can't use Sidesync without a proper external wifi connection.

Wireless Android Auto

Is it possible to have this working on the S10e running LOS 19.1? I can see the WiFi dongle in my WiFi list and also the Bluetooth connection. It keeps trying to make the connection every minute or so but can't. My VPN is also disabled for this just in case. I can get connected using USB but not wirelessly. Thanks...
Anyone??
