to all non developers.. please dont post threads in the developer section if you are not developing, especially when you are telling rom developers what to do or not do. this would go into the general section.
Maybe you could just read my previous post instead of *****ing? SORRY, I won't never post accidentially into the wrong section again! God...

well said simss
Are you sure the problem isn't the way in which user apps are installed with most ROMs? Most of them just drop the apks into /data/app which isn't the right way to do it.

Hey everyone,
A friend of mine recently bought a used htc one xl on ebay. It was very cheap but the problem is, it is branded by tmobile (german provider, maybe u know this), but my friend wants to use another provider's sim card. Because he doesnt know nearly anything about how to root, remove bramding etc he asked me if i could maybe do this for him (im more interested in such things than him ) and, if possible, flash miui for him. I have a samsung phone and so i dont know how to remove branding and flash roms on the one xl, i thought i would search in xda for this.
Now i didnt find any one xl forum here and, because he told me one xl would be one x just with lte module, i decided to ask here at one x forum. Am i right here with one xl?
If yes, it would be really nice from u if anyone could amswer my questions, even if it is just one of them:
1. What do i have to do to remove the tmobile branding? Does that first require root?
2. Because at miui.com, htc one xl isnt listed at supported devices, but one x is, do they use the same rom?
3. What do i need to do to flash the miui custom rom?
Already thank u really really much for ur answers in advance! (And sorry for the post being longer than i expected...)

This is the wrong thread to post this question, and you cant flash any rom for the one x tegra 3 to the one xl since they are totally different. You should search the one xl thread for an miui port.

Hey,
I've created this thread to ask everyone who owns this device (be it the H, the F or just the A3000 variants) for help.
Long story short: Lenovo did publish the kernel source, but it's incomplete and therefore not compilable.
Using a prebuilt zImage, I have managed to build an (actually) fully working CWM. But that's of no use if we have nothing to flash.
Now, what can you do?
a) Prove me wrong and point me to a complete kernel ☺
b) "Force" Lenovo to publish complete sources by spamming them with Emails or something similar on social networks. Believe me or not - this could seriously work.
c) If you're a developer willing to collaborate - PM me.
Thanks.

Current state (as of 25/11/2014)
It boots!
I don't think CM has been ported over to the A3000. I hope there will be a custom ROM available for this device soon, as there are currently none...
What the point of publishing incomplete source code?

I knew that MediaTek did not want to release driver updates (for Android 4.3/4.4) of its mobile SoC, MediaTek MT8389 (I do not know for what strange reasons).
This problem is well known to the owners of ASUS MemoPad HD 7, that has similar SoC (MT8125)!

ASUS has replied to different users that could not update Android for this reason.
I suppose then that MediaTek is our target... and its not a good thing...
Hi. As I know, working kernel sources exsists. Luckasfb has been built kernel for chinese firmware. We just need to ask him for sources.

I have tried everything, completing the source and convincing luckasfb to share his sources. But all he wants is money, just like MediaTek.

OK. But how about Octa ROM? Is it possible to port it to A3000 if I get the source?
Sad to see something halt because of money..
Since this is an open source activity, why we don't make a "call for volunteers"?

Hi there,
anyone with LineageOS 17.1 successfully using WifiCalling/VoWifi with the provider Swisscom?
Also Mbudget, Wingo...
Opened an issue on gitlab for my beryllium but think more that it is the case for multiple devices if not all. Because of that I'm searching people with LineageOS using Swisscom provider or a "Sub"-provider of Swisscom.
