Any way to transfer app from one watch to another? - Samsung Galaxy Watch

I recently upgraded to a GWA2 from a GW46mm. On the old watch I used an app for fitness tracking called UA Record and I can't download it anymore because the app has been discontinued. The app is still installed in the old watch and I am wondering if there's a way to transfer the app from the old watch to the new one. I already tried restoring a backup from the old watch to the new one and that didn't help.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You might try, if you backed up the GWA46 on samsung.com, restoring from a back up. Go to restore and select to only restore apps and then select just that app.

I had already tried that before posting, but sadly it didn't work. I was hoping there was a way of pulling the app from the old watch, and then move it to the new one.

Go to market, and search for titanium backup, then install titanium backup pro key. That should work.

That is the one I have installed; the latest; no key anywhere in my google email. The application list is empty, when i go to batch to do anything; it notifies that it is foing batch but there is no applications; i tried to fix it with permissions from rom mannager; no luck; tried TB problems; no luck;
this app has lots of negative reviews that i obviosly overlook when paying for it all the way.
I am an IT guy, that is my day job, but not too savy with phone mod; that is how I am learning
You don't get a key in your email, the free version looks for the pro key app.
Try uninstalling both apps on your phone, reinstall the Regular version, open it up, then go install the pro, open it up. Let me know if that doesn't work.

That is a good try I guess but before i do it; do you know if it will grab the pro+key version i have already paid with google? i am done sending them a nasty email about contacting my visa department for a refund under fraud, but also told them i would love to keep the app; only if it works; i got several apps installed and this is the first one giving me head aches; giving my unfamiliarity with root and what to do or where to fix a problem file;
i did a nandroide backup when rooting but i think i did not had TB Pro yet at that time; i installed the Pro + Key after; it worked for like 2 days and stopped after running permission with rom manager to try and fix the dialer using LCD Resolution. I think it meesed up after that.
i do have a Drop box backup from TB but at this point i doubt it works; i tried to restore and it just beeps saying it did but it did not

Got my answer to my last post just trying that solution that seemed logial enough.
It worked; thanks mitallust; the app icon on my screen is the one for TB only (silverone) does not shows the golden one, also does not show TB pro in the applications tray on the screen, but the app is there on the phone. Weird stuff; will do a restart see whats up.

Glad to see it is fixed. Just to answer this point, since the Pro Key is an actual app purchase through the Marketplace, it will remember your Key when you re-install.

Data Transfer (moving info from old phone to Note 4)

what all are you guys using to migrate your app data from your current phone to the Note 4? Helium has been my go-to for awhile but i wanted to know if there were any other options out there that i should consider too. (moderators forgive me if this is a duplicate topic, i didn't see any in this forum thus far)
I honestly wouldn't even bother transferring app data over unless it is extremely important. I wouldn't want to carry files from an old phone to a new one. Keep it fresh and don't bring over dirty files. May not do anything bad but just my take. Kinda same thing when you wipe data when flashing roms. Dirty flashing can lead to unwanted issues, just as carrying over files from another phone can.
Unless you find a good app to do so. Keep us posted.
thank you. i'm primarily interested in retaining my game data, such as Subway Surfers, Clumsy Ninja, Angry Birds, etc, where it's taken awhile to level up and i would hate to start fresh. i also always transfer text messages and call logs as well. i use SMS Backup/Restore for my texts, Helium for system settings and other app data, and Verizon Cloud for my call logs. i never rooted the S5, been so busy with work i haven't had time to look into tinkering with those settings, so i know that Titanium Backup would not be an option.
Good question. . . I have used Titatnium Backup in the past problem there however is root on N4.
What tu3218 does make sense as well unless you had some way to guarantee or verify it wasn't going to create a bunch of junk in directories which shouldn't exist.
If someone has a good solution I would like to hear it as well. I have three 2-step verify apps which would be nice to just transfer rather than removing and adding manually.
Helium
I bought the full version of Helium and that will transfer all save game data. I downloaded all my apps fresh from the play store after I activated the note. I then used Helium to restore a backup of the games I wanted to keep my save data on.
I also used reware my backup pro to restore my call logs, small, and mms message database.

+1 - Righ on cbdudek. That is exactly how I would do it.
* My backup will restore - call logs, contacts, sms, mms etc..
* Helium to restore games' backup
*Not recommend to restore system settings, or old apps. Download fresh from play store. The theory is every time you move into a new house, you need to do a good clean up and throw out all the junks....
appreciate it everyone. about to give Helium a go and see what happens. rather than restoring all of my app data, i only backed up the game data this time around, so we will see how that goes. i'll let you all know in the morning what happens. how do you like your Note 4's thus far?
i never use titanium or any auto backup method to transfer files to a new fone. it always causes tiny little glitches here and there. Best thing to do is start fresh. For contacts and calendar its all on my GMAIL. for text messages I use GO SMS so i can backup and restore within that app no problems. I use nova launcher so i can backup my home screen and all my other screens and restore it with nova no issues. beyond that its all manual input. I have a few remote dvr viewing apps and i configure all those again manually as well as all my mail settings and what not.
Helium works best without root and you can migrate the app over wifi.

Only some apps.

Does Samsung Cloud restores app data?

Has anyone already tried this in real life?
Does it backup ALL of the app data like game progress and every single detail like Apple does with its iTunes backup?
I find this really really useful.
Thanks!
Nobody has tried it yet?
Good question, that would actually be really useful!
Well, this is a little embarrassing. But, last night I went to clear cache in recovery after making some changes in my disabled packages. I accidently did a factory reset, instead. I can confirm that it does reinstall your apps and reinstalls the theme etc. I don't play games on my phone, so I cant help you there. I had to resign in to banking apps, xda, re add my card to Samsung pay etc.
So, Ill have to say, no, it does not restore every detail as you mention. Mostly it restored my settings and "look and feel" aka theme/icons. My contacts where back, and txt messages where back (but the txt messages could have been the AT&T service). It did download my custom font, but didnt apply it.
In summary: It put my apps back on my phone I had downloaded but I to resign in to everything. I also had to import my package disabler pro script. Contacts where back in as well. I was also disappointed I had to set up all three of my emails again. I wish the cloud service acted like smart switch, but it does not.
Oh and be warned the phone is extremely laggy during restore operation. The phone also becomes pretty hot during the operation. In total it took me about 30 minutes to get back everything 100% the way I had it.

Well, that's quite disappointing. I read articles saying it could restore app settings, but it seems it's not like iTunes still, where it restores an exact copy of your previous setup.
I have this now on my S7 Edge and so far it always fails to backup the App section, there is always an error. The other sections complete without issue.
Are your App backups working prior to doing a restore?

No prob! Yes, I agree in being disappointed. Hopefully they will tweak the service to be more comparable to an iTunes restore. Or, it's possible we are missing something? I do not find any in depth settings for back and restore for Samsung Cloud. As far as I can see its either "on or off".

If you have any apps or data from apps on the SD card or are using the card as adoptable storage, it wont work.

Hi, it reinstall theme ? so if i root my Boom Note 7 and install avengers theme, Samsung cloud will be able to get it back on my new note 7 ? ^^
Only restores app data for some Samsung apps like weather and clock nothing else. It does restore all apps even side loaded. It does restore most of the os settings but not all

It restores data for some apps. For example, data for Color Note are saved and restored. Data for And Ftp are not.
Same for Desktop version and the direct cable connection version of Smart Switch.

They probably use identical technologies.
On the S7 Edge Loaner that I tried, it got back the Apps, but had to re-sign into all of them. Also, No themes were applied and settings failed to carry over
It fails, dismally. Like previous reviewers have stated, Samsung's backup/restore feature does NOT backup app settings as promised. It does nothing more than reinstall apps, without any customisation, as if you've never used them before. What's more, if your new handset has updated firmware or different settings to your previous one, then you may find your "restored" apps suffering compatibility issues and causing system instability. Until Samsung's backup/restore software functions the way it's supposed to, you're better off installing the apps the old-fashioned way, or using Google's backup/restore option, which at least avoids conflicts.
You would think if anyone could get this to work it would be Samsung, using their app on their phone. Good one guys.
For those that tested this app, did your backups fully complete or did they fail near the end?
Mine always failed at the end when doing the apps, but I just got the Nougat update and the phone initiated a backup and it finally went all the way.
So I'm wondering if now it would be better.
Samsung backup is terrible.
It will definitely NOT backup game saves. I recently confirmed this. It will backup game settings, saving you a whopping 30 seconds of having to endure the tedious task of changing them to what you want, but the save games you spent hours/days on? That isnt important to Samsung.

setup 5t from 3

Been trying hard to setup new 5t from my old 3.
Restoring from gmail backup restores no apps - nothing shows in drop down?
Restoring via back to back reinstalls all apps but no app data. Ideally don't want to setup all apps from scratch but SMS copied over must be possible
Any ideas please? Would prefer not to root if possible

Contacts - Backup & Restore

Ok then! this will sound like a newby question....I'm not really, I swear!!
So I have my lovely rooted Note 8 all set up the way I like it. It's pretty perfect.
During the data transfer from my old phone to new one using Samsung SmartSwitch, every thing went fine without a hitch.
I can no longer use the SmartSwitch app since my phone is rooted now....not changing that.
Somewhere in the process, my contacts got imported into Gmail app. Which I DO NOT want. I usually removing nearly all of Google's apps along with Verizon's as well as Samsung's...I have a policy of uninstalling what I don't want or need or think much of.
However, my contacts are now associated with the Gmail app - if I remove the app, the contacts disappear!!.
I would like to know what is the most current, up to date and trouble means of backing up my contacts, then deleting the Gmail app, then restoring the contacts? Would a Contacts backup and restore in Titanium Root do the trick? is there another, easier or better method?
Thanks for your assistance!
I haven't used it in a long, long time, but I think Mybackup Pro will save/restore contacts. Could take a look at it and see if that does it for you

1. open contacts app
2. go to Menu icon (upper-right).
3. go to Manage contacts.
4. go to Import/Export contacts.
5. export to SD
