Hi, i like to know the prevention for Moto g5.so I can't able to brick my device again. thanks in advance
Don't flash recoveries, kernels or ROMs that are not suitable for your phone. However, in some cases mentioned above, phone will start. This is also related to other Android phones, not just Moto G5. An exception is if your device support Treble (Moto G5 does since today). Then, you can flash any ROM WITH TREBLE SUPPORT AND PARTITIONING CORESPONDING TO YOUR DEVICE - A ONLY or A/B.
Don't even try to flash stock firmware with older security patch than you have currently installed - everything except gpt and/or bootloader will flash because of preflash validations. Corrupted or missing gpt/bootloader will end up in hardbricked device.
Even, there's already a tutorial for fixing hardbricked G5 (by booting off from sdcard), it may, but also may not work for you. Always be careful of what you are flashing to avoid situations that are difficult to fix.

Thans for replying. If I flash the device without using gpt/or bootloader codes (in case of using old firmware).then my device will not get bricked.is it right.

It won't get hard bricked because you are not changing the boot partitions or bootloader so you will be able to access fastboot
Your phone may not boot (for example if a kernel requires a certain bootloader version) but it won't be hard bricked

Or for example if ROM needs certain kernel... still remember how much I was scared when I've softbricked my old Xperia X8 for the first time.

Thanks for help.
My piece of advice:
DON'T ATTEMPT TO DOWNGRADE USING FASTBOOT.
More specifically: don't flash gpt/bootloader files with fastboot. When you flash an older bootloader through Fastboot or RSD Lite, you end up with a brick and you will need a blankflash file or an image dump on a Micro SD card.
Just backup everything you can and be very cautious of what you flash, better safe than sorry.
First of all, i started being a newbie, i just wanted to install magisk for cam2api, but i messed up: i combined for error 2 different system (mine that was ios9 and ios8). So i tried to read more and more threads and it just got worse. to make the story short: i had to get to test-point and restore the phone with Xiaomi Mi Flash tool & an original rom stock.
So now that i can go inside the Android System and use the phone, my sim card is just not working, i checked and my imei was 0 and my IMEI SV also 0.
I tried deleting modemst 1 and 2, i tried to reflash the phone with another stock images, updating the phone via android (normal way), i tried to restore my imei with the QPST Dual Imei (and it worked but the IMEI SV still in 0). nothing is working Please i need help i think my efs folder it's corrupted but i'm not shure.
Also i don't have any EFS backup or System backup, nothing.

I´m not sure what you mean by ios8 and ios9, maybe oreo and pie.
For the next time just so you know test point method is not recommended while you are not completely bricked (although is recommended out there without care), on a unlocked device most probably you won´t need it to solve this kind of issue, there are other resources to try previous to this stage.
I never had this kind of problem, you might try this https://zfirmware.com/how-to-repair-qualcomm-imei-via-qualcomm-write-imei-tool/
Sadly not working

Try rewriting the IMEI's from the box (I hope you still have the box and paperwork since there is the original IMEI's) with the Qualcomm IMEI Tool. Reflash full stock rom.
The tool is here: https://androidmtk.com/download-qualcomm-smartphone-write-imei-tool
If everything fails and your knowledge is not helping you to find a solution and you are still under warranty and respect the warranty for physical aspect of the device (no scuffs, no damage, no aftermarket replaced parts that may damaged warranty voids inside the phone) you can flash it stock, lock bootloader and file a warranty replacement as "damage from OTA". The service will replace your motherboard.

I knew that there is a method to restore IMEIs via adb but I don´t remember commands so I never need it. First I do before tinkering device is to backup IMEI/EFS/NVram.
I had a theory that years ago I proved, IMEI is not really lost but just overlapped so if you have some friend that can give you their backup this will recover the yours but won´t overwrite/replace the yours. Not sure if it works yet.
About the tool that I linked maybe you need to get it through either in fastboot or download mode, try both; I don´t think that detect it while device is on.

Yeah this fixed my phone too, now I'm making backups
I recently updated my 5G's firmware, but ended up annoyed with it's bugs. So, I wanted to try flashing an older rom onto my phone. I did just that, but now when I try to turn my phone on, this messages appears:
"Your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and will not boot.
Visit this link on another device:
g.co/ABH"
It doesn't seem to boost past that. Has anyone encountered something like this, and/or know what I could do to fix this?
yep you soft bricked.
there is a warning on Nubia's website and on my Rom Mega thread that states not to try to downgrade to lower roms after installing Android 11 because you will brick.
you can fix it by running the unbrick tool for your devices model and region.
you will lose all data, and the phone will be restored to default. there is no way to recover your data now that you've bricked the phone.

Oh, I see. That's unfortunate.
Thanks for letting me know
I understand I can convert to EU.... However, I don't wish to do that. I just want to root my stock TMOBILE ROM.
My sim is unlocked and I have the unlock.bin from OnePlus for my phone. For anyone who has rooted TMOBILE stock ROM, which boot.img did you patch? I've read that AA boot image can work, but no firsthand accounts confirming this.
Ideally, I'd like to use my own boot.img but I can't find a tutorial or guide anywhere advising how to obtain my boot.img without root.
Thanks!
use AA boot img, but recommend unlocking Bootloader and backing up your tmo modem a/b imgs

Use partitions backup (app) to backup the existing TMO Firmware first and copy your files to a pc before you do anything. As with any flashing you run the risk of wiping your info and stored files..

What is partition magic? An app? Software?

Sorry meant to say partitions backup. Which is an app.

Thank you... unfortunately partition backup requires root. So I can't back anything up until I unlock and root....which using the AA boot image to root kinda freaks me out

It is understandable to be freaked out,. But if you follow the direction letter for letter then you should be fine.
Also good rule of thumb is make sure you have all the drivers and software loaded on your pc, then make sure your pc and phone can talk in adb and fastboot before you start to flash your phone.
I have rooted my stock tmo rom with aa and all good. Of course I went even further and installed the EU version on my tmo bought 9Pro..

Yep, confirmed, 9pro and my computer can talk. The whole MSM thing is what is worrying me. In the MSM tool, it says it is the TMO -EU MSM. So, once it does it's thing and flashes it all, it should wipe the phone, it would be on the EU rom?
From there, I would need to follow the steps, unlock BL, flash modems, and then download oxygen updater to be able to locally download updates and install?
As my question dictates, I have erased my data partition through TWRP and currently unable to find a custom/stock ROM/OS. Details on how this happened is below.
I have done the following to my OnePlus Nord N100:
Unlocked the bootloader, Installed TWRP, then I got stuck. I discovered the reason why Magisk wouldn't install through TWRP; it is because I have already encrypted some partitions when enabling a pin/pattern/facial recognition. The only way to fully decrypt those partitions is to factory reset the phone and set it up without ANY lock configuration. Here is where I made my fatal mistake, I acted without checking if there was a stock/custom ROM/OS available to download and flash through fastboot. I was wrong. I deleted the "data" partition through TWRP and I have basically bricked my backup phone until I can find a ROM/OS that is fully compatible with my phone. ANY help would be much appreciated in helping me search for any ROM/OS suitable for the "OnePlus Nord N100".
Thank you in advance,

I hope you booted into twrp from fastboot and didn't flash it. If you have stock recovery you should try factory reset from there. Otherwise use one of the unbrick tools.

Don't know if you figured it out or not but you have to use the one plus recovery tool. It's been a year since I bricked mine similarly. I think I had to put it into emergency download mode and run the recovery software. I believe it's here on xda somewhere.
I sent links nine months ago in this thread to not only all versions of the stock ROM but also the unbricking tool mentioned; I dont know why everyone's pretending I don't exist.
