I am looking into buying the LG G8s.
Anyone that has this phone can check on the USB C version? Gsmarena says version 3.1, but I wondering if that's true, I have seen "Type C Version 2.0 (compatible with version 3)" on the LG website.
If anyone has an USB 3 type C cable, and this phone, could you please check that?
Well, I'm not positive what you're asking based on what you wrote; but, I'm guessing you are asking if the interface supports USB 2.0, 3.0, or 3.1 speeds. Since I'm not sure what to poke to see, I can only say that I copied a 1.4gib file to internal storage in about 10 seconds.

Yes, I was asking about the USB speed, thank you. 10 seconds doesn't sound like it can be 2.0.

Hi I was wondering if a micro usb to usb adapter such as this one would work with our LG Nitro HD. I'm currently using CM9 nightlies as my rom.
Don't see why it wouldn't but what's the purpose?

Almost all of my medical textbooks are pdfs, so being able to copy from a friends pen drive a pdf to my phone so I can later copy it to my laptop at home is a major plus for me . I went ahead and purchased it anyways, so I'll report back if it works or not
So I finally got my usb-otg adapter. I plugged it in and tried a numerous amount off usb apps with no success. I wasn't able to use stickmount since the play store told me that it isn't compatible with my device. I haven't tried sideloading stickmount though. I'm running CM9 stable, not sure if it works with the stock roms or with JB.
I've never seen any indication that the Nitro HD supports USB-OTG. It's not listed in the spec sheets I've checked at least.

My hdmi adapter works fine in CM9, so I don't think you should have any problems if you switch to CM9.

I have to assume that it only connects to the G Pad at USB 2.0 speeds, correct?

Correct. this will act as 2.0 for most devices since 3.0 isn't completely adopted yet.
It's worth noting that this transfers movies quite fast compared to USB from device to PC

I'm not sure what you mean about USB 3.0 not being adopted yet. Some devices have 3.0, but the G Pad doesn't. I don't think it's a matter of it not being adopted, just that the G Pad doesn't have the hardware to support it.

Completely. Widely. Not a lot.
How many phones and tablets have 3.0? Not many
Well I am extremely happy right now.
It turns out that with an OTG cable, my 4.4.2 RAZR M can suddenly output audio via USB to my Fiio E17 amplifier. I can finally ditch the 2G iPod touch I have been clinging to for years.
Awesome. Will test with a Droid 3 dock as well

I am just starting to explore the possibilities of using my M for high quality audio. Does the above work without root, custom rom, etc.? I am not rooted and am bootloader locked and need to remain that way.
Are there any decent guides available on the net on this topic? I have been doing a lot of googling and trying to piece things together but haven't found a good consolidated source for information.
Thanks much.

Worked before I even rooted, all stock. Just used and OTG cable and connected it to my DAC/AMP.
Is there a USB sound standard I should be looking for to find devices that work? Or does it work with any USB sound device?

It's called 'class compliant' USB audio device.
If it works on Windows, Macintosh etc. without the need to install a device specific driver, it's probably class compliant.
Btw., the support for OTG connected class compliant USB DACs has been present in CM builds for Razr M/HD family since September 2013.

That is true, but seeing as I need Bluetooth in all its glory and some other things that never seemed to work right in CM11, I am glad to see it in a stock build

:good: Was able to pick up for a whopping $1.04 shipped, a USB audio dongle from eBay which works great, but needs external power.
Now if only I could get PodMode to work, I'd have a perfect 1-plug replacement for an old iPod.
Looking to output signal out of the phone into my USB DAC. It works with my current phone, quite well.
If I'm to buy this Find 7 I need to know that it will work first. Anybody have any experience with this?
If I remember correctly find7 doesn't support USB OTG at all. Someone can correct me if I remember wrong

The Find 7 supports OTG, but if it's supports a DAC, I don't know, I've only used for usb storage, keyboard and mouse.

My mistake. It was MHL then that was missing
I'll let you know if it works with my DAC, soon, as my phone is slated for delivery today.
MHL, what is that? Hi-rez video out to an external device?

Yup. Standard that allows HDMI output from usb port. I use it a lot with my tablet.
Hi guys, could you please check somethings for me?
1. What speed or how much time does it take to transfer a file with size 2GB from your PC/ MAC to the OnePlus 11?
2. What speed or how much time does it take to transfer a file with size 2GB from the phone to your PC/ MAC?
3. What speed or how much time does it take to transfer files(audio + video + pics taken using the camera) combined amounting to 2GB from the deice to your PC/ MAC and vice versa?
I am forced to ask this because I always bought the Pro edition of the phones and those always had the best hardware combinations, my current 9 Pro has USB Type-C 3.1, combined with the UFS3.1 I am getting fantastic read write speeds be it one file or numerous files. I am almost sure that the type-C USB2.0 port will be the bottleneck in using the very fast UFS4.0 that the 11 has, it is a shame that the company cheaped out on it, I transfer a lot of data between my phone and PC and this will be the biggest deal breaker for me, hope you guys/ gals assist.

I was able to move a 1GB file to my phone from the PC in roughly 15 seconds
I was able to move that same file back to my phone in roughly 15 seconds
This is the same speed I get with my 9Pro and 8T on the same file.

I was only able to get 20MB/s with my oneplus 11 and my 9 pro I see 150-200MB/s It was a huge difference for me.

Where are you seeing this speed, I was talking about connecting the device to a laptop/ PC and then moving files between them, while using my OnePlus 9 Pro in Windows 11, we get a copy action popup that shows only the time needed not the speeds, as @JWhetstone02 said before I am also getting the same speeds on my OnePlus 11 that I got on my 9 Pro, I had moved around 150GB of data in less than an hour, while had more than 2000 folders and 40000 files, the speed for moving data within the phone is stunning, I have seen speeds move above 500MB per second when I used Solid Explorer to move some things around.

You have to use a 3rd party usb cable not the one that comes with the device as they are only usb 2.0. They only have one of the usb 3.0 pins in the cable. You can see the speed by opening up task manager , selecting performance, then selecting your hard drive. If you do this when there is no other activity on the drive you can get a good baseline when you start the coping to and from the phone. The one plus 11 is deffintily at lot slower then my one plus 9 pro. I just got the oneplus 10 pro to replace the 11 and I am so much happier with the speeds.

Actually I am using the USB cable that I got with my 9 Pro, since that phone has a type-C USB3.1 port maybe the cable that came with it is also of the same type, I will check it out with the cable that came with 11, will also checkout the task manager to gauge the speed, good to hear that your issue was solved.
If you got 150gb to move in 30mins that would be on par with the oneplus 9 pro. I was never able to achieve that. My sample size is only 1 phone so that is much so there could be another issue like drivers that play a role.
